1 Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ has made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.
1 Estai, pois, firmes na liberdade com que Cristo nos libertou, e não torneis a colocar-vos debaixo do jugo da servidão.
2 Behold, I Paul say unto you, that if all of you be circumcised, Christ shall profit you nothing.
2 Eis que eu, Paulo, vos digo que, se vos deixardes circuncidar, Cristo de nada vos aproveitará.
3 For I testify again to every man that is circumcised, that he is a debtor to do the whole law.
3 E de novo protesto a todo o homem, que se deixa circuncidar, que está obrigado a guardar toda a lei.
4 Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the law; all of you are fallen from grace.
4 Separados estais de Cristo, vós os que vos justificais pela lei; da graça tendes caído.
5 For we through the Spirit (o. pneuma) wait for the hope of righteousness by faith.
5 Porque nós pelo Espírito da fé aguardamos a esperança da justiça.
6 For in Jesus Christ neither circumcision avails any thing, nor uncircumcision; but faith which works by love. (o. agape)
6 Porque em Jesus Cristo nem a circuncisão nem a incircuncisão tem valor algum; mas sim a fé que opera pelo amor.
7 All of you did run well; who did hinder you that all of you should not obey the truth?
7 Corríeis bem; quem vos impediu, para que não obedeçais à verdade?
8 This persuasion comes not of him that calls you.
8 Esta persuasão não vem daquele que vos chamou.
9 A little leaven leavens the whole lump.
9 Um pouco de fermento leveda toda a massa.
10 I have confidence in you through the Lord, that all of you will be none otherwise minded: but he that troubles you shall bear his judgment, whosoever he be.
10 Confio de vós, no Senhor, que nenhuma outra coisa sentireis; mas aquele que vos inquieta, seja ele quem for, sofrerá a condenação.
11 And I, brethren, if I yet preach circumcision, why do I yet suffer persecution? then is the offence of the cross ceased.
11 Eu, porém, irmãos, se prego ainda a circuncisão, por que sou, pois, perseguido? Logo o escândalo da cruz está aniquilado.
12 I would they were even cut off which trouble you.
12 Eu quereria que fossem cortados aqueles que vos andam inquietando.
13 For, brethren, all of you have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love (o. agape) serve one another.
13 Porque vós, irmãos, fostes chamados à liberdade. Não useis então da liberdade para dar ocasião à carne, mas servi-vos uns aos outros pelo amor.
14 For all the law is fulfilled in one word, (o. logos) even in this; You shall love your neighbour as yourself.
14 Porque toda a lei se cumpre numa só palavra, nesta: Amarás ao teu próximo como a ti mesmo.
15 But if all of you bite and devour one another, take heed that all of you be not consumed one of another.
15 Se vós, porém, vos mordeis e devorais uns aos outros, vede não vos consumais também uns aos outros.
16 This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, (o. pneuma) and all of you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh.
16 Digo, porém: Andai em Espírito, e não cumprireis a concupiscência da carne.
17 For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, (o. pneuma) and the Spirit (o. pneuma) against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that all of you cannot do the things that all of you would.
17 Porque a carne cobiça contra o Espírito, e o Espírito contra a carne; e estes opõem-se um ao outro, para que não façais o que quereis.
18 But if all of you be led of the Spirit, (o. pneuma) all of you are not under the law.
18 Mas, se sois guiados pelo Espírito, não estais debaixo da lei.
19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,
19 Porque as obras da carne são manifestas, as quais são: adultério, fornicação, impureza, lascívia,
20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, worldy jealousies, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,
20 Idolatria, feitiçaria, inimizades, porfias, emulações, iras, pelejas, dissensões, heresias,
21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.
21 Invejas, homicídios, bebedices, glutonarias, e coisas semelhantes a estas, acerca das quais vos declaro, como já antes vos disse, que os que cometem tais coisas não herdarão o reino de Deus.
22 But the fruit of the Spirit (o. pneuma) is love, (o. agape) joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,
22 Mas o fruto do Espírito é: amor, gozo, paz, longanimidade, benignidade, bondade, fé, mansidão, temperança.
23 Meekness, wilful restrain: against such there is no law.
23 Contra estas coisas não há lei.
24 And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.
24 E os que são de Cristo crucificaram a carne com as suas paixões e concupiscências.
25 If we live in the Spirit, (o. pneuma) let us also walk in the Spirit. (o. pneuma)
25 Se vivemos em Espírito, andemos também em Espírito.
26 Let us not be desirous of vain glory, provoking one another, envying one another.
26 Não sejamos cobiçosos de vanglórias, irritando-nos uns aos outros, invejando-nos uns aos outros.
