1 Chyldren obey youre fathers and mothers in the Lorde: for so is it right.
1 Filhos, obedecei a vossos pais segundo o Senhor; porque isto é justo.
2 Honoure thy father and mother that is the fyrst commaundement that hath eny promes
2 O primeiro mandamento acompanhado de uma promessa é: Honra teu pai e tua mãe,
3 that thou mayst be in good estate and lyve longe on the erthe.
3 para que sejas feliz e tenhas longa vida sobre a terra {Dt 5,16}.
4 And ye fathers move not youre children to wrath: but bringe the vp wt the norter and informacio of ye Lorde.
4 Pais, não exaspereis vossos filhos. Pelo contrário, criai-os na educação e doutrina do Senhor.
5 Servautes be obedient vnto youre carnall masters with feare and trimblinge in singlenes of youre hertes as vnto Christ:
5 Servos, obedecei aos vossos senhores temporais, com temor e solicitude, de coração sincero, como a Cristo,
6 not wt service in ye eye sight as men pleasars: but as the servautes of Christ doynge ye will of God fro the herte
6 não por mera ostentação, só para agradar aos homens, mas como servos de Cristo, que fazem de bom grado a vontade de Deus.
7 with good will servinge ye Lorde and not men.
7 Servi com dedicação, como servos do Senhor e não dos homens.
8 And remember that whatsoever good thinge eny man doeth that shall he receave agayne of the Lorde whether he be bonde or fre.
8 E estai certos de que cada um receberá do Senhor a recompensa do bem que tiver feito, quer seja escravo quer livre.
9 And ye masters do eve the same thinges vnto them puttinge awaye threateninges: and remember that even youre master also is in heven nether is ther eny respecte of person with him.
9 Senhores, procedei também assim com os servos. Deixai as ameaças. E tende em conta que o Senhor está no céu, Senhor tanto deles como vosso, que não faz distinção de pessoas.
10 Finally my brethre be stronge in the Lorde and in the power of his myght.
10 Finalmente, irmãos, fortalecei-vos no Senhor, pelo seu soberano poder.
11 Put on ye armour of God that ye maye stonde stedfast agaynst ye crafty assautes of the devyll.
11 Revesti-vos da armadura de Deus, para que possais resistir às ciladas do demônio.
12 For we wrestle not agaynst flesshe and bloud: but agaynst rule agaynst power and agaynst worldy rulars of ye darckenes of this worlde agaynst spretuall wickednes for hevenly thinges.
12 Pois não é contra homens de carne e sangue que temos de lutar, mas contra os principados e potestades, contra os príncipes deste mundo tenebroso, contra as forças espirituais do mal {espalhadas} nos ares.
13 For this cause take vnto you the armoure of God yt ye maye be able to resist in the evyll daye and to stonde perfect in all thinges.
13 Tomai, por tanto, a armadura de Deus, para que possais resistir nos dias maus e manter-vos inabaláveis no cumprimento do vosso dever.
14 Stonde therfore and youre loynes gyrd aboute with veritie havinge on the brest plate of rightewesnes
14 Ficai alerta, à cintura cingidos com a verdade, o corpo vestido com a couraça da justiça,
15 and shood with showes prepared by the gospell of peace.
15 e os pés calçados de prontidão para anunciar o Evangelho da paz.
16 Above all take to you the shelde of fayth wherwith ye maye quenche all ye fyrie dartes of the wicked.
16 Sobretudo, embraçai o escudo da fé, com que possais apagar todos os dardos inflamados do Maligno.
17 And take the helmet of salvacio and the swearde of the sprete which is the worde of God.
17 Tomai, enfim, o capacete da salvação e a espada do Espírito, isto é, a palavra de Deus.
18 And praye all wayes with all maner prayer and supplicacio: and yt in the sprete: and watch thervnto wt all instance and supplicacio for all saynctes
18 Intensificai as vossas invocações e súplicas. Orai em toda circunstância, pelo Espírito, no qual perseverai em intensa vigília de súplica por todos os cristãos.
19 and for me that vttraunce maye be geve vnto me that I maye open my mouth boldly to vtter the secretes of the gospell
19 E orai também por mim, para que me seja dado anunciar corajosamente o mistério do Evangelho,
20 whereof I am a messenger in bondes that therin I maye speake frely as it becommeth me to speake.
20 do qual eu sou embaixador, prisioneiro. E que eu saiba apregoá-lo publicamente, e com desassombro, como é meu dever!
21 But that ye maye also knowe what condicion I am in and what I do Tichicus my deare brother and faythfull minister in the Lorde shall shewe you of all thinges
21 E para que também vós estejais a par da minha situação e do que faço aqui, Tíquico, o irmão muito amado e fiel ministro no Senhor, vos informará de tudo.
22 whom I sent vnto you for the same purpose that ye myght knowe what case I stonde in and that he myght comfort youre hertes.
22 Eu vo-lo envio precisamente para isto: para que sejais informados do que se passa conosco e para que ele conforte os vossos corações.
23 Peace be with the brethren and love with fayth from God the father and from the Lorde Iesu Christ.
23 Paz aos irmãos, amor e fé, da parte de Deus Pai e do Senhor Jesus Cristo.
24 Grace be with all them which love oure lorde Iesus Christ in puernes. Ame
24 A graça esteja com todos os que amam nosso Senhor Jesus Cristo com amor inalterável e eterno.
