1 Chyldren obey youre fathers and mothers in the Lorde: for so is it right.
1 Filhos, obedeçam a seus pais no Senhor, porque isso é o certo a fazer.
2 Honoure thy father and mother that is the fyrst commaundement that hath eny promes
2 “Honre seu pai e sua mãe.” Esse é o primeiro mandamento com promessa.
3 that thou mayst be in good estate and lyve longe on the erthe.
3 Se honrar pai e mãe, “tudo lhe irá bem e terá vida longa na terra”.
4 And ye fathers move not youre children to wrath: but bringe the vp wt the norter and informacio of ye Lorde.
4 Pais, não tratem seus filhos de modo a irritá-los; antes, eduquem-nos com a disciplina e a instrução que vêm do Senhor.
5 Servautes be obedient vnto youre carnall masters with feare and trimblinge in singlenes of youre hertes as vnto Christ:
5 Escravos, obedeçam a seus senhores terrenos com respeito e temor. Sirvam com sinceridade, como serviriam a Cristo.
6 not wt service in ye eye sight as men pleasars: but as the servautes of Christ doynge ye will of God fro the herte
6 Procurem agradá-los sempre, e não apenas quando eles estiverem observando. Como escravos de Cristo, façam a vontade de Deus de todo o coração.
7 with good will servinge ye Lorde and not men.
7 Trabalhem com entusiasmo, como se servissem ao Senhor, e não a homens.
8 And remember that whatsoever good thinge eny man doeth that shall he receave agayne of the Lorde whether he be bonde or fre.
8 Lembrem-se de que o Senhor recompensará cada um de nós pelo bem que fizermos, quer sejamos escravos, quer livres.
9 And ye masters do eve the same thinges vnto them puttinge awaye threateninges: and remember that even youre master also is in heven nether is ther eny respecte of person with him.
9 Senhores, assim também tratem seus escravos. Não os ameacem; lembrem-se de que vocês e eles têm o mesmo Senhor no céu, e ele não age com favoritismo.
10 Finally my brethre be stronge in the Lorde and in the power of his myght.
10 Uma palavra final: Sejam fortes no Senhor e em seu grande poder.
11 Put on ye armour of God that ye maye stonde stedfast agaynst ye crafty assautes of the devyll.
11 Vistam toda a armadura de Deus, para que possam permanecer firmes contra as estratégias do diabo.
12 For we wrestle not agaynst flesshe and bloud: but agaynst rule agaynst power and agaynst worldy rulars of ye darckenes of this worlde agaynst spretuall wickednes for hevenly thinges.
12 Pois nós não lutamos contra inimigos de carne e sangue, mas contra governantes e autoridades do mundo invisível, contra grandes poderes neste mundo de trevas e contra espíritos malignos nas esferas celestiais.
13 For this cause take vnto you the armoure of God yt ye maye be able to resist in the evyll daye and to stonde perfect in all thinges.
13 Portanto, vistam toda a armadura de Deus, para que possam resistir ao inimigo no tempo do mal. Então, depois da batalha, vocês continuarão de pé e firmes.
14 Stonde therfore and youre loynes gyrd aboute with veritie havinge on the brest plate of rightewesnes
14 Assim, mantenham sua posição, colocando o cinto da verdade e a couraça da justiça.
15 and shood with showes prepared by the gospell of peace.
15 Como calçados, usem a paz das boas-novas, para que estejam inteiramente preparados.
16 Above all take to you the shelde of fayth wherwith ye maye quenche all ye fyrie dartes of the wicked.
16 Em todas as situações, levantem o escudo da fé, para deter as flechas de fogo do maligno.
17 And take the helmet of salvacio and the swearde of the sprete which is the worde of God.
17 Usem a salvação como capacete e empunhem a espada do Espírito, que é a palavra de Deus.
18 And praye all wayes with all maner prayer and supplicacio: and yt in the sprete: and watch thervnto wt all instance and supplicacio for all saynctes
18 Orem no Espírito em todos os momentos e ocasiões. Permaneçam atentos e sejam persistentes em suas orações por todo o povo santo.
19 and for me that vttraunce maye be geve vnto me that I maye open my mouth boldly to vtter the secretes of the gospell
19 E orem também por mim. Peçam que Deus me conceda as palavras certas, para que eu possa explicar corajosamente o segredo revelado pelas boas-novas.
20 whereof I am a messenger in bondes that therin I maye speake frely as it becommeth me to speake.
20 Agora estou preso em correntes, mas continuo a anunciar essa mensagem como embaixador de Deus. Portanto, orem para que eu siga falando corajosamente em nome dele, como é meu dever.
21 But that ye maye also knowe what condicion I am in and what I do Tichicus my deare brother and faythfull minister in the Lorde shall shewe you of all thinges
21 Tíquico lhes dará um relatório completo do que tenho feito e de como tenho passado. Ele é um irmão amado e um colaborador fiel na obra do Senhor.
22 whom I sent vnto you for the same purpose that ye myght knowe what case I stonde in and that he myght comfort youre hertes.
22 Eu o enviei a vocês com esse propósito, para que saibam como estamos e para animá-los.
23 Peace be with the brethren and love with fayth from God the father and from the Lorde Iesu Christ.
23 A paz seja com vocês, irmãos, e que Deus, o Pai, e o Senhor Jesus Cristo lhes deem amor e fidelidade.
24 Grace be with all them which love oure lorde Iesus Christ in puernes. Ame
24 Que a graça de Deus esteja eternamente sobre todos que amam nosso Senhor Jesus Cristo.
