1 Yf there a ryse amonge you a prophett or a dreamer of dreames and geue the a sygne or a wondre,
1 — Se aparecer no meio de vocês um profeta ou alguém que explique sonhos, dizendo que vai acontecer um milagre ou outra coisa espantosa,
2 and that sygne or wonder which he hath sayed come to passe, and then saye: lat vs goo after straunge Goddes which thou hast not knowen, and let vs serue them:
2 e, se acontecer aquilo que ele disse, então ele vai procurar levá-los a adorar e servir deuses que vocês não conheciam.
3 herken not vnto the wordes of that prophete or dreamer of dreames. For the Lorde thy God tepteth you, to wete whether ye loue the Lord youre God with all youre hertes ad with al youre soules.
3 Mas não deem atenção a esse profeta ou a essa pessoa que explica sonhos. Pois é assim que o Senhor , nosso Deus, vai pôr vocês à prova, para ver se, de fato, o amam com todo o coração e com toda a alma.
4 For ye must walke after the Lorde youre God ad feare him and kepe his comaudmentes and herken vnto his voyce and serue him and cleaue vnto him.
4 Sigam as leis do Senhor , nosso Deus; temam a Deus , obedeçam aos seus mandamentos e deem atenção a tudo o que ele diz. Adorem somente a Deus e fiquem ligados com ele.
5 And that prophete or dreamer of dreames shall dye for it, because he hath spoke to turne you awaye fro the Lorde youre God which broughte you out of the londe of Egipte ad delyuered you out of the housse of bondage, to thrust the out of the waye whiche the Lorde thy God commaunded the to walke in: and so thou shalt put euell awaye from the.
5 E o profeta ou o explicador de sonhos que procurou levá-los a se revoltarem contra Deus será morto. Pois ele procurou desviá-los do caminho indicado pelo Senhor , o Deus que livrou vocês do Egito, onde eram escravos. Matem esse falso profeta e assim tirarão o mal do meio do povo.
6 Yf thy brother the sonne of thy mother or thyne awne sonne or thy doughter or the wife that lieth in thy bosome or thy frende which is as thyne awne soule vnto the, entyce the secretly sayenge: let vs goo and serue straunge goddes which thou hast not knowe nor yet thy fathers,
6 — Talvez chegue perto de você o seu irmão, ou o seu filho, ou a sua filha, ou a sua querida esposa, ou o seu melhor amigo, procurando em segredo levá-lo a adorar outros deuses que nem você nem os seus antepassados adoravam.
7 of the goddes of the people whiche are roude aboute the, whether thei be nye vnto the or farre of from the, from the one ende of the lande vnto the other:
7 Essa pessoa pode procurar levá-lo a adorar os deuses de povos vizinhos ou de povos que vivem longe, em lugares distantes.
8 Se thou consente not vnto him nor herken vnto him: no let not thyne eye pitye him nor haue compassyon on hym, nor kepe him secrett, but cause him to be slayne:
8 Não deixe que essa pessoa o convença, nem escute o que ela disser. Não tenha dó nem piedade dela e não procure protegê-la.
9 Thine hande shalbe first apon hym to kyll him: and then the handes off all the people.
9 Mate essa pessoa a pedradas; atire a primeira pedra, e, depois, que todos os outros atirem pedras também.
10 And thou shalt stone hym with stones that he dye, because he hath gone aboute to thrust the awaye from the Lord thy God which brought the out of Egipte the housse of bondage.
10 Assim vocês matarão essa pessoa, pois procurou fazer vocês abandonarem o Senhor , nosso Deus, que os livrou do Egito, onde eram escravos.
11 And all Israel shall heare and feare ad shall doo no moare any soche wekednesse as this is, amonge them.
11 Todo o povo de Israel saberá do que aconteceu; todos ficarão com medo, e ninguém vai querer fazer uma coisa tão má como essa no meio do povo.
12 Yf thou shalt heare saye of one of thy cities which the Lorde thy God hath geuen the to dwell in,
12 — Quando vocês estiverem morando nas cidades da terra que o Senhor , nosso Deus, vai lhes dar, talvez vocês ouçam dizer
13 that certen beyng the childern of Beliall are gone out from amonge you and haue moued the enhabiters of their citie sayeng: lat vs goo and serue straunge Goddes whiche ye haue not knowen.
13 que em certa cidade alguns homens perversos levaram os moradores a adorar deuses que vocês nunca adoraram.
14 Then seke and make serche and enquere diligently. Yf it be true and the thinge of a suertie that soch abhominacion is wrought among you:
14 Aí vocês deverão examinar o caso com todo o cuidado. Se ficar provado que, de fato, foi cometido um pecado tão grave no meio do povo de Israel,
15 then thou shalt smyte the dwellers of that citie with the edge of the swerde, and destroye it mercylesse and all that is therin, and euen the very catell thereof with the edge of the swerde.
15 então vocês deverão matar à espada todos os moradores daquela cidade. Matem também os animais e arrasem a cidade.
16 And gather all the spoyle of it in to the myddes of the streates thereof, and burne with fire: both the citie and all the spoyle thereof euery whitte vnto the Lord thy God. And it shalbe an hepe for euer and shall not be bylt agayne.
16 Depois peguem todos os objetos de valor que encontrarem, amontoem na praça e queimem tudo e também a cidade, como oferta ao Senhor , nosso Deus. Vai ficar só um montão de ruínas, e nunca mais será construída uma cidade naquele lugar.
17 And se that their cleaue nought of the damned thinge in thine hande, that the Lorde maye turne fro his fearse wrath and shewe the mercye ad haue compassion on the and multiplye the, as he hath sworne vnto thy fathers:
17 Não guardem para vocês nada do que for condenado à destruição. Assim o Senhor deixará de ficar irado e terá pena de vocês. Deus terá compaixão e, como jurou aos nossos antepassados, fará com que vocês aumentem em número.
18 when thou hast herkened vnto the voyce of the Lorde thy God, to kepe all his comaundmentes which I comaunde the thys daye so that thou doo that which is right in the eyes of the Lorde thy God.
18 O Senhor , nosso Deus, fará isso se vocês derem atenção às suas ordens, se obedecerem a todas as suas leis que eu estou dando a vocês hoje e se fizerem aquilo que ele acha bom.
