1 As ther gadered together an innumerable multitude of people (in so moche that they trood one another) he began to saye vnto his disciples: Fyrst of all beware of the leve of the Pharises which is ypocrisy.
1 Quando as multidões cresceram a ponto de haver milhares de pessoas atropelando-se e pisando umas nas outras, Jesus concentrou seu ensino nos discípulos, dizendo: “Tenham cuidado com o fermento dos fariseus, que é a hipocrisia.
2 For ther is no thinge covered that shall not be vncovered: nether hyd that shall not be knowen.
2 Virá o dia em que tudo que está encoberto será revelado, e tudo que é secreto será divulgado.
3 For whatsoever ye have spoken in in darknes: that same shalbe hearde in light. And that which ye have spoken in the the eare eve in secret places shalbe preached even on the toppe of the housses.
3 O que vocês disseram no escuro será ouvido às claras, e o que conversaram a portas fechadas será proclamado dos telhados.
4 I saye vnto you my fredes: Be not afrayde of them that kyll the body and after that have no moare that they can do.
4 “Meus amigos, não tenham medo daqueles que matam o corpo; depois disso, nada mais podem lhes fazer.
5 But I will shewe you whom ye shall feare. Feare him which after he hath killed hath power to cast into hell. Ye I saye vnto you him feare.
5 Mas eu lhes direi a quem devem temer. Temam a Deus, que tem o poder de matar e lançar no inferno. Sim, a esse vocês devem temer.
6 Are not five sparowes bought for two farthinges? And yet not one of them is forgotten of God.
6 “Qual é o preço de cinco pardais? Duas moedas de cobre? E, no entanto, Deus não se esquece de nenhum deles.
7 Also even the very heres of youre heedes are nombred. Feare not therfore: ye are moare of value then many sparowes.
7 Até os cabelos de sua cabeça estão todos contados. Portanto, não tenham medo; vocês são muito mais valiosos que um bando inteiro de pardais.
8 I saye vnto you: Whosoever confesseth me before men eve him shall ye sonne of man confesse also before ye angels of God.
8 “Eu lhes digo a verdade: quem me reconhecer aqui, diante das pessoas, o Filho do Homem o reconhecerá na presença dos anjos de Deus.
9 And he that denyeth me before men: shalbe denyed before ye angels of God.
9 Mas quem me negar aqui será negado diante dos anjos de Deus.
10 And whosoever speaketh a worde agaynst ye sonne of ma it shalbe forgeven him. But vnto him yt blasphemeth the holy goost it shall not be forgeven.
10 Quem falar contra o Filho do Homem será perdoado, mas quem blasfemar contra o Espírito Santo não será perdoado.
11 When they bringe you vnto the synagoges and vnto the rulers and officers take no thought how or what thinge ye shall answer or what ye shall speake.
11 “Quando vocês forem julgados nas sinagogas e diante dos governantes e das autoridades, não se preocupem com o modo como se defenderão nem com o que dirão,
12 For the holy goost shall teache you in the same houre what ye ought to saye.
12 pois o Espírito Santo, naquele momento, lhes dará as palavras certas”.
13 One of the company sayde vnto hym: Master byd my brother devide the enheritauce with me.
13 Então alguém da multidão gritou: “Mestre, por favor, diga a meu irmão que divida comigo a herança de meu pai!”.
14 And he sayde vnto him: Man who made me a iudge or a devider over you?
14 Jesus respondeu: “Amigo, quem me pôs como juiz sobre vocês para decidir essas coisas?”.
15 Wherfore he sayde vnto them: take hede and beware of covetousnes. For no mannes lyfe stondeth in the aboundaunce of the thinges which he possesseth.
15 Em seguida, disse: “Cuidado! Guardem-se de todo tipo de ganância. A vida de uma pessoa não é definida pela quantidade de seus bens”.
16 And he put forth a similitude vnto them sayinge: The groude of a certayne riche ma brought forth frutes plenteously
16 Então lhes contou uma parábola: “Um homem rico tinha uma propriedade fértil que produziu boas colheitas.
17 and he thought in himsilfe sayinge: what shall I do? because I have noo roume where to bestowe my frutes?
17 Pensou consigo: ‘O que devo fazer? Não tenho espaço para toda a minha colheita’.
18 And he sayde: This will I do. I will destroye my barnes and bilde greater and therin will I gadder all my frutes and my goodes:
18 Por fim, disse: ‘Já sei! Vou derrubar os celeiros e construir outros maiores. Assim terei espaço suficiente para todo o meu trigo e meus outros bens.
19 and I will saye to my soule: Soule thou hast moch goodes layde vp in stoore for many yeares take thyne ease: eate drinke and be mery.
19 Então direi a mim mesmo: Amigo, você guardou o suficiente para muitos anos. Agora descanse! Coma, beba e alegre-se!’.
20 But God sayde vnto him: Thou fole this night will they fetche awaye thy soule agayne from the. Then whose shall thoose thinges be which thou hast provyded?
20 “Mas Deus lhe disse: ‘Louco! Você morrerá esta noite. E, então, quem ficará com o fruto do seu trabalho?’.
21 So is it with him that gadereth ryches and is not ryche in God.
21 “Sim, é loucura acumular riquezas terrenas e não ser rico para com Deus”.
22 And he spake vnto his disciples: Therfore I saye vnto you: take no thought for youre lyfe what ye shall eate nether for youre body what ye shall put on.
22 Então, voltando-se para seus discípulos, Jesus disse: “Por isso eu lhes digo que não se preocupem com a vida diária, se terão o suficiente para comer, ou com o corpo, se terão o suficiente para vestir.
23 The lyfe is moare then meate and the bodye is moare then rayment.
23 Pois a vida é mais que comida, e o corpo é mais que roupa.
24 Considre the ravens for they nether sowe nor repe which nether have stoorehousse ner barne and yet God fedeth them. How moche are ye better then the foules.
24 Observem os corvos. Eles não plantam nem colhem, nem guardam comida em celeiros, pois Deus os alimenta. E vocês valem muito mais que qualquer pássaro.
25 Which of you with takynge thought can adde to his stature one cubit?
25 Qual de vocês, por mais preocupado que esteja, pode acrescentar ao menos uma hora à sua vida?
26 Yf ye then be not able to do that thinge which is least: why take ye thought for the remmaunt?
26 E, se não podem fazer uma coisa tão pequena, de que adianta se preocupar com as maiores?
27 Considre the lylies how they growe: They laboure not: they spyn not: and yet I saye vnto you that Salomon in all this royalte was not clothed lyke to one of these.
27 “Observem como crescem os lírios. Não trabalham nem fazem suas roupas e, no entanto, nem Salomão em toda a sua glória se vestiu como eles.
28 Yf the grasse which is todaye in the felde and tomorowe shalbe cast into the fornace God so clothe: how moche moore will he clothe you o ye endued wt litell faith?
28 E, se Deus veste com tamanha beleza as flores que hoje estão aqui e amanhã são lançadas ao fogo, não será muito mais generoso com vocês, gente de pequena fé?
29 And axe not what ye shall eate or what ye shall drinke nether clyme ye vp an hye
29 “Não se inquietem com o que comer e o que beber. Não se preocupem com essas coisas.
30 for all suche thinges the hethen people of the worlde seke for. Youre father knoweth that ye have nede of suche thinges.
30 Elas ocupam os pensamentos dos pagãos de todo o mundo, mas seu Pai já sabe do que vocês precisam.
31 Wherfore seke ye after the kyngedome of God and all these thinges shalbe ministred vnto you.
31 Busquem, acima de tudo, o reino de Deus, e todas essas coisas lhes serão dadas.
32 Feare not litell floocke for it is youre fathers pleasure to geve you a kingdome.
32 “Não tenham medo, pequeno rebanho, pois seu Pai tem grande alegria em lhes dar o reino.
33 Sell that ye have and geve almes. And make you bagges which wexe not olde and treasure that fayleth not in heaven where noo these commeth nether moth corrupteth.
33 “Vendam seus bens e deem aos necessitados. Com isso, ajuntarão tesouros no céu, e as bolsas no céu não se desgastam nem se desfazem. Seu tesouro estará seguro; nenhum ladrão o roubará e nenhuma traça o destruirá.
34 For where youre treasure is there will youre hertes be also.
34 Onde seu tesouro estiver, ali também estará seu coração.”
35 Let youre loynes be gerdde about and youre lightes brennynge
35 “Estejam vestidos, prontos para servir, e mantenham suas lâmpadas acesas,
36 and ye youre selves lyke vnto men that wayte for their master when he will returne fro a weddinge: that assone as he cometh and knocketh they maye ope vnto him.
36 como se esperassem o seu senhor voltar do banquete de casamento. Então poderão abrir-lhe a porta e deixá-lo entrar no momento em que ele chegar e bater.
37 Happy are those servauntes which the Lorde when he cometh shall fynde wakynge. Verely I saye vnto you he will gerdde him selfe about and make them sit doune to meate and walke by and minister vnto them.
37 Os servos que estiverem prontos, aguardando seu retorno, serão recompensados. Eu lhes digo a verdade: ele mesmo se vestirá como servo, indicará onde vocês se sentarão e os servirá enquanto estão à mesa!
38 And yf he come in the seconde watche ye if he come in the thyrde watche and shall fynde them soo happy are those servauntes.
38 Quer ele venha no meio da noite, quer de madrugada, ele recompensará os servos que estiverem prontos.
39 This vnderstonde that yf the good man of the housse knewe what houre ye these wolde come he wolde suerly watche: and not suffer his housse to be broken vp.
39 “Entendam isto: se o dono da casa soubesse exatamente a que horas o ladrão viria, não permitiria que a casa fosse arrombada.
40 Be ye prepared therfore: for the sonne of man will come at an houre when ye thinke not.
40 Estejam também sempre preparados, pois o Filho do Homem virá quando menos esperam”.
41 Then Peter sayde vnto him: Master tellest thou this similitude vnto vs or to all men?
41 Então Pedro perguntou: “Senhor, essa ilustração se aplica apenas a nós, ou a todos?”.
42 And the Lorde sayde: If there be any faith full servaut and wise whom his Lorde shall make ruler over his housholde to geve them their duetie of meate at due season:
42 O Senhor respondeu: “O servo fiel e sensato é aquele a quem o senhor encarrega de chefiar os demais servos da casa e alimentá-los.
43 happy is that servaunt whom his master when he cometh shall finde soo doinge.
43 Se o senhor voltar e constatar que seu servo fez um bom trabalho,
44 Of a trueth I saye vnto you: that he will make him ruler over all that he hath.
44 eu lhes digo a verdade: ele colocará todos os seus bens sob os cuidados desse servo.
45 But and yf the evyll servaunt shall saye in his hert: My master wyll differre his cominge and shall beginne to smyte the servauntes and maydens and to eate and drinke and to be dronken:
45 O que acontecerá, porém, se o servo pensar: ‘Meu senhor não voltará tão cedo’, e começar a espancar os outros servos, a comer e a beber e se embriagar?
46 the Lorde of that servaunt will come in a daye when he thinketh not and at an houre when he is not ware and will devyde him and will geve him his rewarde with the vnbelevers.
46 O senhor desse servo voltará em dia em que não se espera e em hora que não se conhece, cortará o servo ao meio e lhe dará o mesmo destino dos incrédulos.
47 The servaut that knewe his masters will and prepared not him selfe nether dyd accordinge to his will shalbe bete with many strypes.
47 “O servo que conhece a vontade do seu senhor e não se prepara nem segue as instruções dele será duramente castigado.
48 But he that knewe not and yet dyd committe thinges worthy of strypes shalbe beaten with feawe strypes. For vnto whom moche is geven of him shalbe moche requyred. And to whom men moche commyt the moare of him will they axe.
48 Mas aquele que não a conhece e faz algo errado será castigado com menos severidade. A quem muito foi dado, muito será pedido; e a quem muito foi confiado, ainda mais será exigido.”
49 I am come to sende fyre on erth: and what is my dysyre but that it were all redy kyndled?
49 “Eu vim para incendiar a terra, e gostaria que já estivesse em chamas!
50 Not with stondinge I must de baptised with a baptyme: and how am I payned till it be ended?
50 No entanto, tenho de passar por um batismo e estou angustiado até que ele se realize.
51 Suppose ye that I am come to sende peace on erth? I tell you naye: but rather debate.
51 Vocês pensam que vim trazer paz à terra? Não! Eu vim causar divisão!
52 For fro hence forthe ther shalbe five in one housse devided thre agaynst two and two agaynst thre.
52 De agora em diante, numa mesma casa cinco pessoas estarão divididas: três contra duas e duas contra três.
53 The father shalbe devided agaynst the sonne and the sonne agaynst the father. The mother agaynst the doughter and the doughter agaynst the mother. The motereleawe agaynst hir doughterelawe and the doughterelawe agaynst hir motherelawe.
53 “O pai ficará contra o filho e o filho contra o pai; a mãe contra a filha e a filha contra a mãe; a sogra contra a nora e a nora contra a sogra”.
54 Then sayde he to the people: when ye se a cloude ryse out of the west strayght waye ye saye: we shall have a shower and soo it is.
54 Então Jesus se voltou para a multidão e disse: “Quando vocês veem nuvens se formando no oeste, dizem: ‘Vai chover’. E têm razão.
55 And when ye se the south wynde blow ye saye: we shall have heet and it cometh to passe.
55 Quando sopra o vento sul, dizem: ‘Hoje vai fazer calor’. E assim ocorre.
56 Ypocrites ye can skyll of the fassion of the erth and of the skye: but what is ye cause that ye canot skyll of this time?
56 Hipócritas! Sabem interpretar as condições do tempo na terra e no céu, mas não sabem interpretar o tempo presente.
57 Ye and why iudge ye not of youre selves what is righte?
57 “Por que não decidem por si mesmos o que é certo?
58 Whill thou goest with thyne adversary to the ruler: as thou arte in the waye geve diligence that thou mayst be delivered fro him least he bringe the to the iudge and the iudge delyver the to the iaylar and the iaylar cast the in to preson.
58 Quando você e seu adversário estiverem a caminho do tribunal, procurem acertar as diferenças antes de chegar lá. Do contrário, pode ser que o acusador o entregue ao juiz, e o juiz, a um oficial que o lançará na prisão.
59 I tell ye thou departest not thence tyll thou have made good ye vtmost myte.
59 Eu lhe digo: você não será solto enquanto não tiver pago até o último centavo”.
