1 As ther gadered together an innumerable multitude of people (in so moche that they trood one another) he began to saye vnto his disciples: Fyrst of all beware of the leve of the Pharises which is ypocrisy.
1 Milhares de pessoas se ajuntaram, de tal maneira que umas pisavam as outras. Então Jesus disse primeiro aos discípulos:
2 For ther is no thinge covered that shall not be vncovered: nether hyd that shall not be knowen.
2 Tudo o que está coberto vai ser descoberto, e o que está escondido será conhecido.
3 For whatsoever ye have spoken in in darknes: that same shalbe hearde in light. And that which ye have spoken in the the eare eve in secret places shalbe preached even on the toppe of the housses.
3 Assim tudo o que vocês disserem na escuridão será ouvido na luz do dia. E tudo o que disserem em segredo, dentro de um quarto fechado, será anunciado abertamente.
4 I saye vnto you my fredes: Be not afrayde of them that kyll the body and after that have no moare that they can do.
4 Jesus continuou:
5 But I will shewe you whom ye shall feare. Feare him which after he hath killed hath power to cast into hell. Ye I saye vnto you him feare.
5 Vou mostrar a vocês de quem devem ter medo: tenham medo de Deus, que, depois de matar o corpo, tem poder para jogar a pessoa no inferno. Sim, repito: tenham medo de Deus.
6 Are not five sparowes bought for two farthinges? And yet not one of them is forgotten of God.
6 — Por acaso não é verdade que cinco passarinhos são vendidos por algumas moedinhas? No entanto Deus não esquece nenhum deles.
7 Also even the very heres of youre heedes are nombred. Feare not therfore: ye are moare of value then many sparowes.
7 Até os fios dos cabelos de vocês estão todos contados. Não tenham medo, pois vocês valem mais do que muitos passarinhos!
8 I saye vnto you: Whosoever confesseth me before men eve him shall ye sonne of man confesse also before ye angels of God.
8 Jesus disse ainda:
9 And he that denyeth me before men: shalbe denyed before ye angels of God.
9 Mas aquele que disser publicamente que não é meu, o Filho do Homem também dirá diante dos anjos de Deus que essa pessoa não é dele.
10 And whosoever speaketh a worde agaynst ye sonne of ma it shalbe forgeven him. But vnto him yt blasphemeth the holy goost it shall not be forgeven.
10 — Quem falar contra o Filho do Homem será perdoado, porém quem
11 When they bringe you vnto the synagoges and vnto the rulers and officers take no thought how or what thinge ye shall answer or what ye shall speake.
11 — Quando levarem vocês para serem julgados nas
12 For the holy goost shall teache you in the same houre what ye ought to saye.
12 Pois naquela hora o Espírito Santo lhes ensinará o que devem dizer.
13 One of the company sayde vnto hym: Master byd my brother devide the enheritauce with me.
13 Um homem que estava no meio da multidão disse a Jesus: — Mestre, mande o meu irmão repartir comigo a herança que o nosso pai nos deixou.
14 And he sayde vnto him: Man who made me a iudge or a devider over you?
14 Jesus disse:
15 Wherfore he sayde vnto them: take hede and beware of covetousnes. For no mannes lyfe stondeth in the aboundaunce of the thinges which he possesseth.
15 E continuou, dizendo a todos:
16 And he put forth a similitude vnto them sayinge: The groude of a certayne riche ma brought forth frutes plenteously
16 Então Jesus contou a seguinte parábola :
17 and he thought in himsilfe sayinge: what shall I do? because I have noo roume where to bestowe my frutes?
17 Então ele começou a pensar: “Eu não tenho lugar para guardar toda esta colheita. O que é que vou fazer?
18 And he sayde: This will I do. I will destroye my barnes and bilde greater and therin will I gadder all my frutes and my goodes:
18 Ah! Já sei! — disse para si mesmo. — Vou derrubar os meus depósitos de cereais e construir outros maiores ainda. Neles guardarei todas as minhas colheitas junto com tudo o que tenho.
19 and I will saye to my soule: Soule thou hast moch goodes layde vp in stoore for many yeares take thyne ease: eate drinke and be mery.
19 Então direi a mim mesmo: ‘Homem feliz! Você tem tudo de bom que precisa para muitos anos. Agora descanse, coma, beba e alegre-se.’ ”
20 But God sayde vnto him: Thou fole this night will they fetche awaye thy soule agayne from the. Then whose shall thoose thinges be which thou hast provyded?
20 Mas Deus lhe disse: “Seu tolo! Esta noite você vai morrer; aí quem ficará com tudo o que você guardou?”
21 So is it with him that gadereth ryches and is not ryche in God.
21 Jesus concluiu:
22 And he spake vnto his disciples: Therfore I saye vnto you: take no thought for youre lyfe what ye shall eate nether for youre body what ye shall put on.
22 Então Jesus disse aos seus discípulos:
23 The lyfe is moare then meate and the bodye is moare then rayment.
23 Pois a vida é mais importante do que a comida, e o corpo é mais importante do que as roupas.
24 Considre the ravens for they nether sowe nor repe which nether have stoorehousse ner barne and yet God fedeth them. How moche are ye better then the foules.
24 Vejam os corvos: não semeiam, não colhem, não têm despensas nem depósitos, mas Deus dá de comer a eles. Será que vocês não valem muito mais do que os pássaros?
25 Which of you with takynge thought can adde to his stature one cubit?
25 Qual de vocês pode encompridar a sua vida, por mais que se preocupe com isso?
26 Yf ye then be not able to do that thinge which is least: why take ye thought for the remmaunt?
26 Portanto, se vocês não podem conseguir uma coisa assim tão pequena, por que se preocupam com as outras?
27 Considre the lylies how they growe: They laboure not: they spyn not: and yet I saye vnto you that Salomon in all this royalte was not clothed lyke to one of these.
27 Vejam como crescem as flores do campo: elas não trabalham, nem fazem roupas para si mesmas. Mas eu afirmo a vocês que nem mesmo Salomão, sendo tão rico, usava roupas tão bonitas como uma dessas flores.
28 Yf the grasse which is todaye in the felde and tomorowe shalbe cast into the fornace God so clothe: how moche moore will he clothe you o ye endued wt litell faith?
28 É Deus quem veste a erva do campo, que hoje está aqui e amanhã desaparece, queimada no forno. Então é claro que ele vestirá também vocês, que têm uma fé tão pequena!
29 And axe not what ye shall eate or what ye shall drinke nether clyme ye vp an hye
29 Portanto, não fiquem aflitos, procurando sempre o que comer ou o que beber.
30 for all suche thinges the hethen people of the worlde seke for. Youre father knoweth that ye have nede of suche thinges.
30 Pois os pagãos deste mundo é que estão sempre procurando todas essas coisas. O Pai de vocês sabe que vocês precisam de tudo isso.
31 Wherfore seke ye after the kyngedome of God and all these thinges shalbe ministred vnto you.
31 Portanto, ponham em primeiro lugar na sua vida o
32 Feare not litell floocke for it is youre fathers pleasure to geve you a kingdome.
32 Jesus continuou:
33 Sell that ye have and geve almes. And make you bagges which wexe not olde and treasure that fayleth not in heaven where noo these commeth nether moth corrupteth.
33 Vendam tudo o que vocês têm e deem o dinheiro aos pobres. Arranjem bolsas que não se estragam e guardem as suas riquezas no céu, onde elas nunca se acabarão; porque lá os ladrões não podem roubá-las, e as traças não podem destruí-las.
34 For where youre treasure is there will youre hertes be also.
34 Pois onde estiverem as suas riquezas, aí estará o coração de vocês.
35 Let youre loynes be gerdde about and youre lightes brennynge
35 E Jesus disse ainda:
36 and ye youre selves lyke vnto men that wayte for their master when he will returne fro a weddinge: that assone as he cometh and knocketh they maye ope vnto him.
36 Sejam como os empregados que esperam pelo patrão, que vai voltar da festa de casamento. Logo que ele bate na porta, os empregados vão abrir.
37 Happy are those servauntes which the Lorde when he cometh shall fynde wakynge. Verely I saye vnto you he will gerdde him selfe about and make them sit doune to meate and walke by and minister vnto them.
37 Felizes aqueles empregados que o patrão encontra acordados e preparados! Eu afirmo a vocês que isto é verdade: o próprio patrão se preparará para servi-los, mandará que se sentem à mesa e ele mesmo os servirá.
38 And yf he come in the seconde watche ye if he come in the thyrde watche and shall fynde them soo happy are those servauntes.
38 Eles serão felizes se o patrão os encontrar alertas, mesmo que chegue à meia-noite ou até mais tarde.
39 This vnderstonde that yf the good man of the housse knewe what houre ye these wolde come he wolde suerly watche: and not suffer his housse to be broken vp.
39 Lembrem disto: se o dono da casa soubesse a que hora o ladrão viria, não o deixaria arrombar a sua casa.
40 Be ye prepared therfore: for the sonne of man will come at an houre when ye thinke not.
40 Vocês, também, fiquem alertas, porque o
41 Then Peter sayde vnto him: Master tellest thou this similitude vnto vs or to all men?
41 Então Pedro perguntou: — Senhor, essa
42 And the Lorde sayde: If there be any faith full servaut and wise whom his Lorde shall make ruler over his housholde to geve them their duetie of meate at due season:
42 O Senhor respondeu:
43 happy is that servaunt whom his master when he cometh shall finde soo doinge.
43 Feliz aquele empregado que estiver fazendo isso quando o patrão chegar!
44 Of a trueth I saye vnto you: that he will make him ruler over all that he hath.
44 Eu afirmo a vocês que, de fato, o patrão vai colocá-lo como encarregado de toda a sua propriedade.
45 But and yf the evyll servaunt shall saye in his hert: My master wyll differre his cominge and shall beginne to smyte the servauntes and maydens and to eate and drinke and to be dronken:
45 Mas imaginem o que acontecerá se aquele empregado pensar que o seu patrão está demorando muito para voltar. E imaginem que esse empregado comece a bater nos outros empregados e empregadas e a comer e a beber até ficar bêbado.
46 the Lorde of that servaunt will come in a daye when he thinketh not and at an houre when he is not ware and will devyde him and will geve him his rewarde with the vnbelevers.
46 Então o patrão voltará no dia em que o empregado menos espera e na hora que ele não sabe. Aí o patrão mandará cortar o empregado em pedaços e o condenará a ir para o lugar aonde os desobedientes vão.
47 The servaut that knewe his masters will and prepared not him selfe nether dyd accordinge to his will shalbe bete with many strypes.
47 — O empregado que sabe qual é a vontade do patrão, mas não se prepara e não faz o que ele quer, será castigado com muitas chicotadas.
48 But he that knewe not and yet dyd committe thinges worthy of strypes shalbe beaten with feawe strypes. For vnto whom moche is geven of him shalbe moche requyred. And to whom men moche commyt the moare of him will they axe.
48 Mas o empregado que não sabe o que o patrão quer e faz alguma coisa que merece castigo, esse empregado será castigado com poucas chicotadas. Assim será pedido muito de quem recebe muito; e, daquele a quem muito é dado, muito mais será pedido.
49 I am come to sende fyre on erth: and what is my dysyre but that it were all redy kyndled?
49 Jesus continuou:
50 Not with stondinge I must de baptised with a baptyme: and how am I payned till it be ended?
50 Tenho de receber um batismo e como estou aflito até que isso aconteça!
51 Suppose ye that I am come to sende peace on erth? I tell you naye: but rather debate.
51 Vocês pensam que eu vim trazer paz ao mundo? Pois eu afirmo a vocês que não vim trazer paz, mas divisão.
52 For fro hence forthe ther shalbe five in one housse devided thre agaynst two and two agaynst thre.
52 Porque daqui em diante uma família de cinco pessoas ficará dividida: três contra duas e duas contra três.
53 The father shalbe devided agaynst the sonne and the sonne agaynst the father. The mother agaynst the doughter and the doughter agaynst the mother. The motereleawe agaynst hir doughterelawe and the doughterelawe agaynst hir motherelawe.
53 Os pais vão ficar contra os filhos, e os filhos, contra os pais. As mães vão ficar contra as filhas, e as filhas, contra as mães. As sogras vão ficar contra as noras, e as noras, contra as sogras.
54 Then sayde he to the people: when ye se a cloude ryse out of the west strayght waye ye saye: we shall have a shower and soo it is.
54 Jesus disse também ao povo:
55 And when ye se the south wynde blow ye saye: we shall have heet and it cometh to passe.
55 E, quando sentem o vento sul soprando, dizem: “Vai fazer calor.” E faz mesmo.
56 Ypocrites ye can skyll of the fassion of the erth and of the skye: but what is ye cause that ye canot skyll of this time?
56 Hipócritas! Vocês sabem explicar os sinais da terra e do céu. Então por que não sabem explicar o que querem dizer os sinais desta época?
57 Ye and why iudge ye not of youre selves what is righte?
57 E Jesus terminou, dizendo:
58 Whill thou goest with thyne adversary to the ruler: as thou arte in the waye geve diligence that thou mayst be delivered fro him least he bringe the to the iudge and the iudge delyver the to the iaylar and the iaylar cast the in to preson.
58 Se alguém fizer uma acusação contra você e levá-lo ao tribunal, faça o possível para resolver a questão enquanto ainda está no caminho com essa pessoa. Isso para que ela não o leve ao juiz, o juiz o entregue ao guarda, e o guarda ponha você na cadeia.
59 I tell ye thou departest not thence tyll thou have made good ye vtmost myte.
59 Eu lhe afirmo que você não sairá dali enquanto não pagar a multa toda.
