1 Whe the Lorde thy God hath brought the in to the lond whither thou goest to possesse it, and hath cast out manye nacions before the: the Hethites, the Girgosites, the Amorites, the Cananites, the Pheresites, the Heuites and the Iebusites: vij. nacions moo in numbre ad mightier than thou:
1 Quando o Senhor, o seu Deus, os fizer entrar na terra, para a qual vocês estão indo para dela tomar posse, ele expulsará de diante de vocês muitas nações: os hititas, os girgaseus, os amorreus, os cananeus, os ferezeus, os heveus e os jebuseus. São sete nações maiores e mais fortes do que vocês;
2 ad whe the Lorde thy God hath sett them before the that thou shuldest smyte them se that thou vtterly destroye them and make no couenaunt with them nor haue compassion on them.
2 e quando o Senhor seu Deus as tiver entregue a vocês, e vocês as tiverem derrotado, então vocês as destruirão totalmente. Não façam com elas tratado algum, e não tenham piedade delas.
3 Also thou shalt make no mariages with them, nether geue thy doughter vnto his sonne nor take his doughter vnto thy sonne.
3 Não se casem com pessoas de lá. Não dêem suas filhas aos filhos delas, nem tomem as filhas delas para os seus filhos,
4 For they will make youre sonnes departe fro me and serue straunge Goddes, and then will the wrath off the Lorde waxe whote vppon you ad destroye you shortely.
4 pois elas desviariam seus filhos de seguir-me para servir a outros deuses e, por causa disso, a ira do Senhor se acenderia contra vocês e rapidamente os destruiria.
5 But thus ye shall deale with them: ouerthrowe their alters, breake doune their pilers, cut doune their groves ad burne their ymages with fyre.
5 Assim vocês tratarão essas nações: Derrubem os seus altares, quebrem as suas colunas sagradas, cortem os seus postes sagrados e queimem os seus ídolos.
6 For thou art an holy nacion vnto the Lorde thy God the Lorde thy God hath chosen the to be a seuerall people vnto him silf of all nacions that are vppon the erth.
6 Pois vocês são um povo santo para o Senhor, o seu Deus. O Senhor, o seu Deus, os escolheu dentre todos os povos da face da terra para ser o seu povo, o seu tesouro pessoal.
7 It was not because of the multitude of you aboue all nacions, that the Lorde had lust vnto you and chose you. For ye were fewest of all nacions:
7 O Senhor não se afeiçoou a vocês nem os escolheu por serem mais numerosos do que os outros povos, pois vocês eram o menor de todos os povos.
8 But because the Lorde loued you and because he wolde kepe the othe which he had sworne vnto youre fathers, therfore he brought you out of Egipte with a mightie hande ad delyuered you out of the housse of bondage: eue fro the hande of Pharao kinge of Egipte.
8 Mas foi porque o Senhor os amou e por causa do juramento que fez aos seus antepassados. Por isso ele os tirou com mão poderosa e os redimiu da terra da escravidão, do poder do faraó, rei do Egito.
9 Vnderstonde therfore, that the Lorde thy God he is God and that a true God, which kepeth poyntment and mercy vnto them that loue him and kepe his commaundmentes, euen thorowe out a thousande generacions
9 Saibam, portanto, que o Senhor, o seu Deus, é Deus; ele é o Deus fiel, que mantém a aliança e a bondade por mil gerações daqueles que o amam e guardam os seus mandamentos.
10 and rewardeth them that hate him before his face so that he bringeth them to noughte, and wil not defferre the tyme vnto him that hateth hi but will rewarde him before his face.
10 Mas àqueles que o desprezam, retribuirá com destruição; ele não demora em retribuir àqueles que o desprezam.
11 Kepe therfore the commaundmentes, ordinaunces and lawes which I commaunde you this daye, that ye doo them.
11 Obedeçam, pois, à lei, isto é, aos decretos e às ordenanças que hoje lhes ordeno.
12 Yf ye shall herken vnto these lawes ad shall obserue and do them, then shall the Lorde thy God kepe poyntment with the and the mercy which he swore vnto thy fathers
12 Se vocês obedecerem a essas ordenanças, as guardarem e as cumprirem, então o Senhor, o seu Deus, manterá com vocês a aliança e a bondade que prometeu sob juramento aos seus antepassados.
13 and will loue the, blesse the and multiplye the: he will blesse the frute of thy wombe and the frute of thi felde, thy corne, thy wyne and thy oyle, the frute of thyne oxen and the flockes of thy shepe in the londe which he swore vnto thy fathers to geue the.
13 Ele os amará, os abençoará e fará com que vocês se multipliquem. Ele abençoará os seus filhos e os frutos da sua terra: o cereal, o vinho novo e o azeite, as crias das vacas e das ovelhas, na terra que jurou dar aos seus antepassados.
14 Thou shalt be blessed aboue all nacions, there shalbe nether man nor woman vnfrutefull amonge you, nor any thinge vnfrutefull amonge youre catell.
14 Vocês serão mais abençoados do que qualquer outro povo! Nenhum dos seus homens ou mulheres será estéril, nem mesmo os animais do seu rebanho.
15 Moreouer the Lorde will turne from the all maner infirmityes, and will put none off the euell dyseases off Egipte (whiche thou knowest) apon the, but wyll sende them vppon them that hate the.
15 O Senhor os guardará de todas as doenças. Não infligirá a vocês as doenças terríveis que, como sabem, atingiram o Egito, mas as infligirá a todos os seus inimigos.
16 Thou shalt bringe to nought all nacions which the Lorde thy God delyuereth the, thyne eye shall haue no pitie vppon them nether shalt thou serue their goddes, for that shalbe thy decaye.
16 Vocês destruirão todos os povos que o Senhor, o seu Deus, lhes entregar. Não olhem com piedade para eles, nem sirvam aos seus deuses, pois isso lhes seria uma armadilha.
17 Yf thou shalt saye in thine hert these nacions are moo than I, how ca I cast them out?
17 Talvez vocês digam a si mesmos: "Essas nações são mais fortes do que nós. Como poderemos expulsá-las? "
18 Feare the not, but remebre what the Lorde thy god dyd vnto Pharao ad vnto all Egipte,
18 Não tenham medo delas! Lembrem-se bem do que o Senhor, o seu Deus, fez ao faraó e a todo o Egito.
19 ad the greate temptacions which thine eyes sawe, ad the signes ad wonders ad mightie hade ad stretched out arme wherewith the Lord thy god broughte the out: eue so shall the Lorde thy God doo vnto all the nacions of which thou art afrayed.
19 Vocês viram com os próprios olhos as grandes provas, os sinais miraculosos e as maravilhas, a mão poderosa e o braço forte com que o Senhor, o seu Deus, os tirou de lá. O Senhor, o seu Deus, fará o mesmo com todos os povos que agora vocês temem.
20 Thereto, the Lorde thy God will send hornettes amonge them vntyll they that are lefte, and hyde them selues fro the, be destroyed.
20 Além disso, o Senhor, o seu Deus, causará pânico entre eles até destruir o restante deles, os que se esconderam de vocês.
21 Se thou feare the not for the lord thi god is amog you a mightie god ad a terrible.
21 Não fiquem apavorados por causa deles, pois o Senhor, o seu Deus, que está com vocês, é Deus grande e temível.
22 The Lord thy god will put out these nacios before the a litle ad a litle: thou maist not cosume the at oce lest the beestes of the felde encrease vpo the.
22 O Senhor, o seu Deus, expulsará, aos poucos, essas nações de diante de vocês. Vocês não poderão eliminá-las de uma só vez, se não os animais selvagens se multiplicarão, ameaçando-os.
23 And the lorde thy god shall delyuer the vnto the ad sterre vp a mightie tepest amoge the, vntil thei be brought to nought.
23 Mas o Senhor, o seu Deus, as entregará a vocês, lançando-as em grande confusão, até que sejam destruídas.
24 And he shal deliuer their kinges in to thine hade, ad thou shalt destroye their names fro vnder heaue. There shal no ma stonde before the, vntill thou haue destroyed them.
24 Ele entregará nas mãos de vocês os reis dessas nações, e vocês apagarão o nome deles de debaixo do céu. Ninguém conseguirá resistir a vocês até que os tenham destruído.
25 The images of their goddes thou shalt burne with fire, ad se that thou couet not the syluer or golde that is on them nor take it vnto the, lest thou be snared therewith. For it is an abhominacyon vnto the Lorde thy God.
25 Vocês queimarão as imagens dos deuses dessas nações. Não cobicem a prata e o ouro de que são revestidas; isso lhes seria uma armadilha. Para o Senhor, o seu Deus, isso é detestável.
26 Brynge not therfore the abhominacyon to thyne housse, lest thou be a damned thynge as it is: but vtterlye defye it and abhorre it, for it is a thinge that must be destroyed.
26 Não levem coisa alguma que seja detestável para dentro de casa, se não também vocês serão separados para a destruição. Considerem-na proibida e detestem-na totalmente, pois está separada para a destruição.
