1 When a man hath taken a wyfe and maried her, yf she finde no fauoure in his eyes, because he hath spied some vnclennesse in her. Then let him write her a bylle of devorcement and put it in hir hande and sende her out of his housse.
1 Moisés disse ao povo: — Pode acontecer que um homem case, mas depois de algum tempo não goste mais da esposa porque há nela alguma coisa que não agrada a ele. Nesse caso ele deve preparar um documento de divórcio, entregá-lo à esposa e mandá-la embora.
2 Yf when she is departed out of his housse, she goo and be another mans wife
2 Ela irá, e então poderá acontecer que case com outro homem
3 and the seconde husbonde hate her and write her a letter of deuorcement and put it in hir hande and sende her out of his housse, or yf the seconde man dye whiche toke her to wyfe.
3 e que este também não goste mais dela e se divorcie; ou então poderá acontecer que ele morra.
4 Hir first man whiche sent hir awaye maye not take her agayne to be his wyfe, in as moche as she is defiled. For that is abhominacyon in the syght of the Lorde: that thou defile not the lode with synne, which the Lorde thy God geueth the to enherett.
4 Em qualquer um desses casos, o primeiro marido não poderá casar de novo com essa mulher; ela é impura para ele. Casar de novo com ela seria uma ofensa contra Deus, o Senhor . Portanto, não deixem que se cometa um pecado tão grave assim na terra que o Senhor , nosso Deus, lhes está dando para ser de vocês.
5 When a man taketh a newe wyfe, he shall not goo a warrefare nether shalbe charged wyth any busynesse: but shalbe fre at home one yere and reioyse with his wife whiche he hath taken.
5 — Um homem que tenha casado há pouco tempo ficará livre por um ano do serviço militar e de qualquer outro serviço público. Ele tem o direito de ficar em casa um ano, fazendo com que a sua esposa se sinta feliz.
6 No ma shall take the nether or the vpper milstone to pledge, for then he taketh a mans lyfe to pledge.
6 — Quando você emprestar alguma coisa a alguém, não aceite como garantia de pagamento as duas pedras de moinho que ele usa para moer o trigo e não pegue nem mesmo só a pedra de cima; pois, se ele não tiver as duas, não poderá moer o trigo e assim morrerá de fome.
7 Yf any man be founde stealynge any of his brethern the childern of Israel, ad maketh cheuesaunce of him or selleth him, the thefe shall dye. And thou shalt put euell awaye from the.
7 — Se alguém raptar outro israelita e obrigá-lo a ser seu escravo ou o vender, esse criminoso será morto. Assim vocês tirarão o mal do meio do povo de Israel.
8 Take hede to thy selfe as concernynge the plage of leprosye, that thou obserue diligently to doo acordinge to all that the preastes the leuites shall theach the, as I commaunded them so ye shall obserue to doo.
8 — Se você ficar com uma doença contagiosa da pele, siga com todo o cuidado as instruções dos sacerdotes levitas . Obedeça a todas as ordens que eu dei a eles.
9 Remembre what the Lorde thy God dyd vnto Mir Iam by the waye, after that ye were come out off Egipte.
9 Não esqueça aquilo que o Senhor , nosso Deus, fez com Míriam quando estávamos saindo do Egito.
10 Yf thou lende thy brother any maner soker, thou shalt not goo in to his housse to fetche a pledge:
10 — Quando você emprestar alguma coisa a outro israelita, e ele prometer como garantia de pagamento a capa de dormir, não entre na casa dele a fim de pegar a capa,
11 but shalt stonde without and the man to whom thou lendest, shall brynge the the pledge out at the dore.
11 mas espere lá fora até que ele a traga para você.
12 Forthermore yf it be a pore body, goo not to slepe with his pledge:
12 Se ele for pobre, não fique com a capa durante a noite;
13 but delyuer hym the pledge agayne by that the sonne goo doune, and let him slepe in his owne rayment and blesse the. And it shalbe rightuousnes vnto the, before the Lorde thy God.
13 devolva-a ao dono antes do pôr do sol, para que a use como cobertor. Ele ficará agradecido, e você terá feito aquilo que o Senhor , nosso Deus, acha certo.
14 Thou shalt not defraude an hyred servaunte that is nedye and poore, whether he be off thy brethern or a straunger that is in thy lond within thy cities.
14 — Não explore o empregado pobre e humilde, que é pago por dia, seja ele israelita ou um estrangeiro que mora na cidade onde você vive.
15 Geue him his hyre the same daye, and let not the sonne goo doune thereon. For he is nedye ad therewith susteyneth his life, lest he crye agenst the vnto the Lorde ad it be synne vnto the.
15 Pague o salário dele no mesmo dia, antes do pôr do sol, pois ele é pobre e espera ansioso pelo dinheiro. Se você não pagar, ele gritará a Deus, o Senhor , contra você, e você será culpado de pecado.
16 The fathers shal not dye for the childern nor the childern for the fathers: but euery ma shall dye for his awne synne.
16 — Os pais não serão mortos por causa de crimes cometidos pelos filhos, nem os filhos por causa de crimes cometidos pelos pais; uma pessoa será morta somente como castigo pelo crime que ela mesma cometeu.
17 Hynder not the right of the straunger nor of the fatherlesse, nor take wedowes rayment to pledge.
17 — Respeitem os direitos dos órfãos e dos estrangeiros que moram nas cidades de vocês. Não aceitem como garantia de pagamento de uma dívida a roupa da viúva a quem vocês emprestaram alguma coisa.
18 But remembre that thou wast a servaunte in Egipte, ad how the Lord thy God delyuered the thece. Wherfore I comaude the to doo this thinge.
18 Lembrem que vocês foram escravos no Egito e que o Senhor , nosso Deus, os tirou dali. Por isso eu exijo que obedeçam a essa lei .
19 When thou cuttest doune thyne herueste in the felde and hast forgotte a shefe in the felde thou shalt not goo agayne and fett it: But it shalbe for the straunger, the fatherlesse and the wedowe, that the Lorde thy God maye blesse the in all the workes of thyne hande.
19 — Pode acontecer que na colheita do trigo ou da cevada você esqueça de pegar um feixe de espigas; nesse caso, não volte para pegá-lo, mas deixe-o lá no campo para os estrangeiros, para os órfãos e para as viúvas. Assim o Senhor , nosso Deus, abençoará tudo o que você fizer.
20 When thou beatest doune thyne olyue, trees thou shalt not make cleane riddaunce after the: but it shalbe for the straunger, the fatherlesse and the wedowe.
20 Na colheita das azeitonas, depois que você sacudir as oliveiras, não volte para pegar as azeitonas que ficaram nas árvores; deixe-as para os estrangeiros, para os órfãos e para as viúvas.
21 And when thou gatherest thy vyneyarde, thou shalt not gather cleane after the: but it shalbe for the straunger, the fatherlesse and the wedowe.
21 E faça só uma colheita de uvas nas suas plantações; as uvas que ficarem nos pés serão deixadas para os estrangeiros, para os órfãos e para as viúvas.
22 And remembre that thou wast a seruaunte in the lond of Egipte: wherfore I comaunde the to doo this thinge.
22 Lembrem que vocês foram escravos no Egito; é por isso que eu exijo que obedeçam a essa lei.
