1 Further more we beseche you brethren and exhorte you in the lorde Iesus that ye increace more and more euen as ye have receaved of vs how ye ought to walke and to please god.
1 Finalmente, irmãos, pedimos a vocês e os exortamos no Senhor Jesus que, assim como aprenderam de nós a maneira como devem viver e agradar a Deus, e efetivamente o estão fazendo, vocês continuem progredindo cada vez mais.
2 Ye remember what commaundmetes we gave you in oure lorde Iesu Christ.
2 Porque vocês sabem quantas instruções demos a vocês da parte do Senhor Jesus.
3 For this is the will of god even that ye shuld be holy and that ye shuld abstayne from fornicacion
3 Pois a vontade de Deus é a santificação de vocês: que se abstenham da imoralidade sexual;
4 that every one of you shuld knowe how to kepe his vessell in holynes and honoure
4 que cada um de vocês saiba controlar o seu próprio corpo em santificação e honra,
5 and not in the lust of concupiscence as do the hethen which knowe not god
5 não com desejos imorais, como os gentios que não conhecem a Deus.
6 that no man goo to farre and defraude his brother in bargayninge: because the lorde is a venger of all suche thinges as we tolde you before tyme and testified.
6 E que, nesta matéria, ninguém ofenda nem defraude o seu irmão. Porque, contra todas estas coisas, como antes já avisamos e testificamos, o Senhor é o vingador.
7 For god hath not called vs vnto vnclennes: but vnto holynes.
7 Pois Deus não nos chamou para a impureza, e sim para a santificação.
8 He therfore that despiseth despiseth not man but God which hath sent his holy sprete amonge you.
8 Portanto, quem rejeita estas coisas não rejeita uma pessoa, mas rejeita Deus, que também dá o seu Espírito Santo a vocês.
9 But as touchynge brotherly love ye nede not that I wryte vnto you. For ye are taught of God to love on another.
9 Quanto ao amor fraternal, não há necessidade de que eu lhes escreva, porque vocês mesmos foram instruídos por Deus a amar uns aos outros.
10 Ye and that thinge verely ye do vnto all the brethre which are thorow oute all Macedonia. We beseche you brethren that ye encreace more and more
10 E, na verdade, vocês já estão fazendo isso em relação a todos os irmãos em toda a Macedônia. Porém, irmãos, exortamos vocês a que progridam cada vez mais
11 and that ye studye to be quyet and to medle with youre awne busynes and to worke with youre awne hondes as we commaunded you:
11 e se empenhem por viver tranquilamente, cuidar do que é de vocês e trabalhar com as próprias mãos, como ordenamos,
12 that ye maye behave youre selves honestly towarde them that are with out and that nothinge be lackynge vnto you.
12 para que vocês vivam com dignidade à vista dos de fora, e não venham a precisar de nada.
13 I wolde not brethren have you ignoraut concerninge them which are fallen aslepe that ye sorowe not as other do which have no hope.
13 Irmãos, não queremos que vocês ignorem a verdade a respeito dos que dormem, para que não fiquem tristes como os demais, que não têm esperança.
14 For yf we beleve that Iesus dyed and rose agayne: even so them also which slepe by IeIesus will God brynge agayne with him.
14 Pois, se cremos que Jesus morreu e ressuscitou, assim também Deus, mediante Jesus, trará, na companhia dele, os que dormem.
15 And this saye we vnto you in the worde of the Lorde that we which live and are remayninge in the comminge of the Lorde shall not come yerre they which slepe.
15 E, pela palavra do Senhor, ainda lhes declaramos o seguinte: nós, os vivos, os que ficarmos até a vinda do Senhor, de modo nenhum precederemos os que dormem.
16 For the Lorde him selfe shall descende fro heve with a showte and the voyce of the archangell and trompe of God. And the deed in Christe shall aryse fyrst:
16 Porque o Senhor mesmo, dada a sua palavra de ordem, ouvida a voz do arcanjo e ressoada a trombeta de Deus, descerá dos céus, e os mortos em Cristo ressuscitarão primeiro;
17 then shall we which live and remayne be caught vp with them also in the cloudes to mete the Lorde in ye ayer. And so shall we ever be with the Lorde.
17 depois, nós, os vivos, os que ficarmos, seremos arrebatados juntamente com eles, entre nuvens, para o encontro com o Senhor nos ares, e, assim, estaremos para sempre com o Senhor.
18 Wherfore coforte youre selves one another with these wordes
18 Portanto, consolem uns aos outros com estas palavras.
