1 Am I not an Apostle? am I not fre? have I not sene Iesus Christ oure lorde?
1 Não sou eu livre? Não sou apóstolo? Não vi Jesus nosso Senhor? Não sois vós minha obra no Senhor?
2 Are not ye my worke in the lorde. Yf I be not an Apostle vnto other yet am I vnto you. For the seale of myne Apostleshippe are ye in the lorde.
2 Se para outros não sou apóstolo, ao menos para vós o sou, porque vós sois no Senhor o selo do meu apostolado.
3 Myne answer to them that axe me is this.
3 Esta é a minha defesa contra os que me denigrem.
4 Have we not power to eate and to drynke?
4 Não temos nós porventura o direito de comer e beber?
5 Ether have we not power to leade about a sister to wyfe as wel as other Apostles and as the brethren of the lorde and Cephas?
5 Acaso não temos nós direito de deixar que nos acompanhe uma mulher irmã, a exemplo dos outros apóstolos e dos irmãos do Senhor e de Cefas?
6 Ether only I and Barnabas have not power this to do?
6 Ou só eu e Barnabé não temos direito de deixar o trabalho?
7 who goeth a warfare eny tyme at his awne cost? who planteth a vynearde and eateth not of the frute? Who fedeth a flocke and eateth not of the mylke?
7 Quem, jamais, vai à guerra à sua custa? Quem planta uma vinha e não come do seu fruto? Quem apascenta um rebanho e não se alimenta do leite do rebanho?
8 Saye I these thinges after the manner of men? Or sayth not the lawe the same also?
8 Trata-se, acaso, de simples norma entre os homens? Ou a lei não diz também o mesmo?
9 For it ys written in the lawe of Moses. Thou shall not mosell the mouth of the oxe that treadeth out the corne. Doth God take thought for oxen?
9 Na Lei de Moisés está escrito: Não atarás a boca ao boi que debulha {Dt 25,4}. Acaso Deus tem dó dos bois?
10 Ether sayth he it not all to gedder for oure sakes? For oure sakes no doute this is written: that he which eareth shuld eare in hope: and that he which thressheth in hope shuld be parttaker of his hope.
10 Não é, na realidade, em atenção a nós que ele diz isto? Sim! É por nós que está escrito. Quem trabalha deve trabalhar com esperança e igualmente quem debulha deve debulhar com esperança de receber a sua parte.
11 Yf we sowe vnto you spirituall thynges: is it a greate thynge yf we reepe youre carnall thynges
11 Se entre vós semeamos bens espirituais, será, porventura, demasiada exigência colhermos de vossos bens materiais?
12 Yf other be parttakers of this power over you? wherfore are not we rather.Neverthelesse we have not vsed this power: but suffre all thinges lest we shuld hynder the gospell of Christ.
12 Se outros se arrogam este direito sobre vós, não o temos muito mais? Entretanto, não temos feito uso deste direito: sofremos tudo para não pôr obstáculo algum ao Evangelho de Cristo.
13 Do ye not vnderstoder how that they which minister in the temple have their fyndynge of the temple? And they which wayte at the aulter are partakers with ye aultre?
13 Não sabeis que os ministros do culto vivem do culto, e que os que servem ao altar participam do altar?
14 Even so also dyd ye lorde ordayne that they which preache ye gospell shuld live of the gospell.
14 Assim também ordenou o Senhor que os que anunciam o Evangelho vivam do Evangelho.
15 But I have vsed none of these thinges. Nether wrote I these thinges that it shuld be so done vnto me. For it were better for me to dye the yt eny man shnld take this reioysinge from me
15 Mas não tenho usado de nenhum desses direitos; e nem escrevo isto para reclamá-los. Preferiria morrer a... Mas ninguém me tirará este título de glória.
16 . In that I preache the gospell I have nothinge to reioyce of. For necessite is put vnto me. Wo is it vnto me yf I preache not the gospell.
16 Anunciar o Evangelho não é glória para mim; é uma obrigação que se me impõe. Ai de mim, se eu não anunciar o Evangelho!
17 If I do it with a good will I have a rewarde. But yf I do it agaynst my will an office is committed vnto me.
17 Se o fizesse de minha iniciativa, mereceria recompensa. Se o faço independentemente de minha vontade, é uma missão que me foi imposta.
18 What is my rewarde then? Verely that whe I preache the gospell I make the gospell of Christ fre yt I misvse not myne auctorite in ye gospel
18 Então em que consiste a minha recompensa? Em que, na pregação do Evangelho, o anuncio gratuitamente, sem usar do direito que esta pregação me confere.
19 For though I be fre from all men yet have I made my silfe servaunt vnto all men that I myght wynne the moo.
19 Embora livre de sujeição de qualquer pessoa, eu me fiz servo de todos para ganhar o maior número possível.
20 Vnto the Iewes I became as a Iewe to winne ye Iewes. To the that were vnder the lawe was I made as though I had bene vnder the lawe to wynne the that were vnder the lawe.
20 Para os judeus fiz-me judeu, a fim de ganhar os judeus. Para os que estão debaixo da lei, fiz-me como se eu estivesse debaixo da lei, embora o não esteja, a fim de ganhar aqueles que estão debaixo da lei.
21 To them that were without lawe be ca I as though I had bene without lawe (whe I was not without lawe as perteyninge to god but vnder a lawe as concerninge Christ) to wynne the that were without lawe.
21 Para os que não têm lei, fiz-me como se eu não tivesse lei, ainda que eu não esteja isento da lei de Deus - porquanto estou sob a lei de Cristo -, a fim de ganhar os que não têm lei.
22 To the weake became I as weake to wynne the weake. In all thinge I fassioned my silfe to all men to save at ye lest waye some.
22 Fiz-me fraco com os fracos, a fim de ganhar os fracos. Fiz-me tudo para todos, a fim de salvar a todos.
23 And this I do for the gospels sake that I might have my parte therof.
23 E tudo isso faço por causa do Evangelho, para dele me fazer participante.
24 Perceave ye not how that they which runne in a course runne all yet but one receaveth the rewarde. So runne that ye maye obtayne.
24 Nas corridas de um estádio, todos correm, mas bem sabeis que um só recebe o prêmio. Correi, pois, de tal maneira que o consigais.
25 Euery man yt proveth masteryes abstaineth from all thinges. And they do it to obtayne a corruptible croune: but we to obtayne an vncorruptible croune:
25 Todos os atletas se impõem a si muitas privações; e o fazem para alcançar uma coroa corruptível. Nós o fazemos por uma coroa incorruptível.
26 I therfore so runne not as at an vncertayne thinge. So fyght I not as one yt beateth the ayer:
26 Assim, eu corro, mas não sem rumo certo. Dou golpes, mas não no ar.
27 but I tame my body and bringe it into subieccio lest after that I have preached to other I my silfe shuld be a castawaye.
27 Ao contrário, castigo o meu corpo e o mantenho em servidão, de medo de vir eu mesmo a ser excluído depois de eu ter pregado aos outros.
