1 İsa halka yine misallerle konuşmaya başladı. Şöyle dedi:
1 Jesus tornou a falar-lhes por meio de parábolas:
2 “Semavî Hükümranlık, oğlu için düğün ziyafeti veren bir krala benzer.
2 The kingdom of the heavens has become like a king who made a wedding feast for his son,
3 Kral, davetlileri ziyafete çağırsınlar diye hizmetkârlarını göndermiş, fakat davetliler gelmek istememiş.
3 and sent his bondmen to call the persons invited to the wedding feast, and they would not come.
4 “Kral bir kez daha hizmetkârlarını göndermiş. Onlara şöyle demiş: ‘Davetlilere şunu söyleyin: Bakın ziyafet hazırlandı. Boğalarımı ve besili sığırlarımı kestim. Her şey hazır, buyurun ziyafete!’
4 Again he sent other bondmen, saying, Say to the persons invited, Behold, I have prepared my dinner; my oxen and my fatted beasts are killed, and all things ready; come to the wedding feast.
5 “Fakat davetliler bu davete ilgi göstermemişler. Bazıları tarlada, bazıları da dükkânlarında çalışmaya gitmiş.
5 But they made light of it, and went, one to his own land, and another to his commerce.

6 And the rest, laying hold of his bondmen, ill-treated and slew {them}.

7 And {when} the king {heard of it he} was wroth, and having sent his forces, destroyed those murderers and burned their city.
8 “Sonra hizmetkârlarına şöyle demiş: ‘Düğün ziyafeti hazır, fakat davet ettiklerim buna lâyık değilmiş.
8 Then he says to his bondmen, The wedding feast is ready, but those invited were not worthy;
9 O zaman yol kavşaklarına gidin, kimi bulursanız davet edin.’
9 go therefore into the thoroughfares of the highways, and as many as ye shall find invite to the wedding feast.
10 Hizmetkârlar sokaklara çıkmış, iyi kötü kimi buldularsa toplamışlar. Ziyafet alanı konuklarla dolmuş.
10 And those bondmen went out into the highways, and brought together all as many as they found, both evil and good; and the wedding feast was furnished with guests.
11 “Kral konukları görmeye gelince üzerinde düğün elbisesi olmayan bir adam görmüş.
11 And the king, having gone in to see the guests, beheld there a man not clothed with a wedding garment.
12 Adama, ‘Arkadaş, üzerinde düğün elbisesi olmadan buraya nasıl girdin?’ diye sormuş. Adam cevap verememiş.
12 And he says to him, {My} friend, how camest thou in here not having on a wedding garment? But he was speechless.
13 O zaman kral hizmetkârlarına şöyle emretmiş: ‘Bu adamın ellerini ayaklarını bağlayın ve onu dışarıdaki karanlığa atın! Orada feryat ve figan olacaktır.’
13 Then said the king to the servants, Bind him feet and hands, and take him away, and cast him out into the outer darkness: there shall be the weeping and the gnashing of teeth.
14 Evet, davet edilenler çok, fakat seçilenler azdır.”
14 For many are called ones, but few chosen ones.
15 Sonra Ferisiler oradan ayrıldılar. İsa’ya düzen kurmak için bir araya geldiler. O’nu kendi sözleriyle tuzağa düşürmek istiyorlardı.

16 And they send out to him their disciples with the Herodians, saying, Teacher, we know that thou art true and teachest the way of God in truth, and carest not for any one, for thou regardest not men's person;
17 Söyle bize: Sezar’a vergi vermek caiz mi, değil mi?”
17 tell us therefore what thou thinkest: Is it lawful to give tribute to Caesar, or not?
18 İsa onların kötü niyetinin farkındaydı. Onlara şöyle dedi: “Sizi ikiyüzlüler! Neden beni tuzağa düşürmeye kalkışıyorsunuz?
18 But Jesus, knowing their wickedness, said, Why tempt ye me, hypocrites?
19 Vergi olarak verdiğiniz parayı bana gösterin.” O’na bir dinar getirdiler.
19 Shew me the money of the tribute. And they presented to him a denarius.
20 İsa, “Üzerinde kimin resmi, kimin adı var?” diye sordu.
20 And he says to them, Whose {is} this image and superscription?
21 Onlar, “Sezar’ın” diye cevap verdiler. O zaman İsa, “O halde Sezar’ın hakkını Sezar’a, Allah’ın hakkını Allah’a verin!” dedi.
21 They say to him, Caesar's. Then he says to them, Pay then what is Caesar's to Caesar, and what is God's to God.
22 Bu cevabı duyunca büyük şaşkınlığa düştüler. O’nun yanından uzaklaştılar.
22 And when they heard {him}, they wondered, and left him, and went away.
23 Aynı gün Sadukiler İsa’nın yanına geldiler. Bunlar ölülerin dirileceğine inanmazlar. O’na şöyle dediler:

24 “Hocam, Musa Tevrat’ta şöyle der: ‘Bir adam çocuksuz ölürse, kardeşi onun dul karısıyla evlensin, soyunu sürdürsün.’
24 saying, Teacher, Moses said, If any one die, not having children, his brother shall marry his wife and shall raise up seed to his brother.
25 Aramızda yedi kardeş vardı. En büyük olan evlendi ve sonra öldü. Çocuğu olmadığından kardeşi onun dul karısını aldı.
25 Now there were with us seven brethren; and the first having married died, and not having seed, left his wife to his brother.
26 Aynı şey ikinci ve üçüncü kardeşin de başına geldi. Yedi kardeşin hepsi kadınla evlendi ve öldü.
26 In like manner also the second and the third, unto the seven.
27 En sonunda kadın da öldü.
27 And last of all the woman also died.
28 Ahirette bu kadın yedi kardeşten hangisinin karısı olacak? Zira hepsiyle evlendi.”
28 In the resurrection therefore of which of the seven shall she be wife, for all had her?
29 İsa onlara şöyle cevap verdi: “Tevrat’ı ve Allah’ın kudretini bilmediğinizden dolayı sapıtıyorsunuz!
29 And Jesus answering said to them, Ye err, not knowing the scriptures nor the power of God.
30 Ahirette insanlar evlenmez. Cennetteki melekler gibidirler.
30 For in the resurrection they neither marry nor are given in marriage, but are as angels of God in heaven.
31 Allah’ın diriliş hakkında ne söylediğini okumadınız mı? Allah şöyle diyor:
31 Quanto à ressurreição dos mortos, não lestes o que Deus vos disse:
32 ‘Ben İbrahim’in, İshak’ın, Yakub’un Allahı’yım.’ O ölülerin değil, dirilerin Allahı’dır.”
32 Eu sou o Deus de Abraão, o Deus de Isaac e o Deus de Jacó {Ex 3,6}? Ora, ele não é Deus dos mortos, mas Deus dos vivos.
33 Kalabalıklar bu sözleri işitti. İsa’nın vaazı karşısında şaşakaldılar.
33 E, ouvindo esta doutrina, as turbas se enchiam de grande admiração.

37 Respondeu Jesus: Amarás o Senhor teu Deus de todo teu coração, de toda tua alma e de todo teu espírito {Dt 6,5}.
38 “Birinci ve en büyük emir budur.
38 Este é o maior e o primeiro mandamento.
39 Buna benzer ikinci emir ise şudur: ‘Komşunu kendini sevdiğin gibi sev’.
39 E o segundo, semelhante a este, é: Amarás teu próximo como a ti mesmo {Lv 19,18}.
40 Bütün Tevrat ve peygamberlik kitapları bu iki emre dayanır.”
40 Nesses dois mandamentos se resumem toda a lei e os profetas.
41 Ferisiler toplu haldeyken İsa onlara şunu sordu:
41 Como os fariseus se agrupassem, Jesus interrogou-os:
42 “Mesih hakkındaki düşünceniz nedir? O kimin oğludur?” Onlar, “Davud’un Oğlu’dur” diye cevap verdiler.
42 Que pensais vós de Cristo? De quem é filho? Responderam: De Davi!
43 İsa şöyle dedi: “O halde Davud Mukaddes Ruh vasıtasıyla Mesih’e neden ‘Efendim’ diye hitap ediyor? Davud Zebur’da şöyle diyor:
43 Como então, prosseguiu Jesus, Davi, falando sob inspiração do Espírito, chama-o Senhor, dizendo:
44 ‘Rab Efendim’e dedi ki, sağımda otur. Bütün düşmanlarını ayaklarının altına sereceğim.’
44 O Senhor disse a meu Senhor: Senta-te à minha direita, até que eu ponha teus inimigos por escabelo dos teus pés {Sl 109,1}?
45 “Eğer Davud, Mesih’e ‘Efendim’ diyorsa, Mesih nasıl onun oğlu olabilir?”
45 Se, pois, Davi o chama Senhor, como é ele seu filho?
46 İsa’ya cevap veremediler. O günden sonra kimse O’na soru sormaya cesaret edemedi.
46 Ninguém pôde responder-lhe nada. E, depois daquele dia, ninguém mais ousou interrogá-lo.
