2 having witnessed your pure conversation {carried out} in fear;

3 whose adorning let it not be that outward one of tressing of hair, and wearing gold, or putting on apparel;
4 Huixín calacputzátit ma̱si̱yá̱tit la̱n li̱taca̱xta̱y ni̱ma̱ kalhí minacujcán; porque ixlacatí̱n Dios huata tata̱yaní ixli̱taca̱xta̱ycán amá cristianos tí tama̱sí tla̱n tacatzí y ni̱ tatlanca̱ní ixli̱stacnicán.
4 but the hidden man of the heart, in the incorruptible {ornament} of a meek and quiet spirit, which in the sight of God is of great price.
5 Maká̱n quilhtamacú huá jaé laclá̱n li̱taca̱xta̱y tamá̱si̱lh amá lacchaján tí ixtali̱scuja Dios y ixtakalhi̱ma̱na naca̱lakma̱xtú y ni̱cxni tali̱mákxtakli ta̱kahua̱naní ixta̱ko̱lucán.
5 For thus also the holy women who have hoped in God heretofore adorned themselves, being subject to their own husbands;

7 {Ye} husbands likewise, dwell with {them} according to knowledge, as with a weaker, {even} the female, vessel, giving {them} honour, as also fellow-heirs of {the} grace of life, that your prayers be not hindered.
8 Li̱ta̱camán, huixín acxtum cala̱cxilhlacachipítit, cala̱sipa̱cxílhtit, cala̱lakalhamántit y tla̱n cacatzí̱tit.

9 not rendering evil for evil, or railing for railing; but on the contrary, blessing {others}, because ye have been called to this, that ye should inherit blessing.
10 Cakaxpáttit tú huan Dios nac Escrituras:
10 For he that will love life and see good days, let him cause his tongue to cease from evil and his lips that they speak no guile.
11 Ca̱kxtakmákalh la̱ta tú li̱xcájnit tlahuá y huata catláhualh tú tla̱n.
11 And let him avoid evil, and do good; let him seek peace and pursue it;
12 Porque Dios ca̱cxila ca̱maktakalha tí lactlá̱n tacatzí,
12 because {the} eyes of {the} Lord {are} on {the} righteous, and his ears towards their supplications; but {the} face of {the} Lord {is} against them that do evil.
13 Chí quila̱huaníu, ¿ticu naca̱tlahuaniyá̱n tú ni̱ tla̱n para huixín huata tzaksayá̱tit tlahuayá̱tit tú tla̱n?
13 And who shall injure you if ye have become imitators of that which {is} good?
14 Pero para huixín ma̱squi tlahuayá̱tit tú tla̱n ca̱ma̱kxtakajni̱caná̱tit ma̱s pa̱t pa̱xahuayá̱tit. Huá xlacata cca̱li̱huaniyá̱n, ni̱ ca̱katuyúntit, ni̱ para caca̱jicuanítit namá tí ca̱ma̱kxtakajni̱yá̱n.
14 E até sereis felizes, se padecerdes alguma coisa por causa da justiça!
15 Porque chuná ma̱si̱yá̱tit nac minacujcán lama Mimpu̱chinacán tí ca̱ma̱tunujni̱tán nali̱scujá̱tit. Para tí ca̱kalasquiniyá̱n hua̱nchi huixín acxilhlacachipiná̱tit amá li̱pa̱xáu latáma̱t ni̱ma̱ ma̱lacnu̱ni̱t Dios, lakasu̱t y ca̱li̱tlá̱n sok calacspi̱tnítit tú xlacata li̱ca̱najlayá̱tit.
15 Portanto, não temais as suas ameaças e não vos turbeis. Antes santificai em vossos corações Cristo, o Senhor. Estai sempre prontos a responder para vossa defesa a todo aquele que vos pedir a razão de vossa esperança, mas fazei-o com suavidade e respeito.

16 Tende uma consciência reta a fim de que, mesmo naquilo em que dizem mal de vós, sejam confundidos os que desacreditam o vosso santo procedimento em Cristo.
17 Para Dios lacasquín na̱kxtakajnaná̱tit ma̱s ca̱macuaniyá̱n ca̱kxtakajnántit xlacata tlahuayá̱tit tú tla̱n que xlacata tlahuayá̱tit tú ni̱ tla̱n.
17 Aliás, é melhor padecer, se Deus assim o quiser, por fazer o bem do que por fazer o mal.
18 Cristo acxni ni̱lh nac culu̱s caj maktum xokó̱nalh cani̱cxnihuá ixlacata quintala̱kalhi̱ncán. Xlá ni̱cxni tláhualh tala̱kalhí̱n pero liakxtakájnalh quintatzaca̱tnicán xlacata tla̱n naquinca̱ma̱lacatzuhui̱yá̱n ixlacatí̱n Dios. Masqui makni̱ca ixmacni, ixespíritu siempre lama huá,
18 Pois também Cristo morreu uma vez pelos nossos pecados - o Justo pelos injustos - para nos conduzir a Deus. Padeceu a morte em sua carne, mas foi vivificado quanto ao espírito.
19 y chú ca̱lákalh amá ixespíritucán cristianos ní lacatum ixca̱kalhi̱cán la̱ tachí̱n y ca̱li̱ta̱chihuí̱nalh ixtachihuí̱n Dios.
19 É neste mesmo espírito que ele foi pregar aos espíritos que eram detidos no cárcere, àqueles que outrora, nos dias de Noé, tinham sido rebeldes,
20 Porque xlacán takaxmatmákalh Dios amá maká̱n quilhtamacú acxni Noé tzúculh tlahuá amá lanca barco xlacata natataxtuní. Xlá ca̱huánilh la̱ Dios ixca̱cxilhlacachini̱t naca̱lakma̱xtú, pero ni̱ taca̱nájlalh y huata tataxtúnilh cha̱tzayán cristianos tí ni̱ tamú̱xtulh nac chúchut.
20 quando Deus aguardava com paciência, enquanto se edificava a arca, na qual poucas pessoas, isto é, apenas oito se salvaram através da água.
21 Amá chúchut ni̱ma̱ tapu̱taxtúnilh amá cha̱tzayán cristianos ta̱talacastuca amá chúchut ni̱ma̱ quinca̱cma̱huacacaná̱n acxni ta̱kmunuyá̱u. Jaé chúchut ni̱ cheké quimacnicán, aquín ta̱kmunuyá̱u xlacata nacheke̱makaná̱u quintala̱kalhi̱ncán y namaksquiná̱u Dios quinca̱ma̱xqui̱yá̱n lactlá̱n talacapa̱stacni, y catzi̱yá̱u taxtuniyá̱u acxni ta̱kmunuyá̱u porque li̱pa̱huaná̱u Jesucristo tí lacastacuánalh ca̱li̱ní̱n.
21 Esta água prefigurava o batismo de agora, que vos salva também a vós, não pela purificação das impurezas do corpo, mas pela que consiste em pedir a Deus uma consciência boa, pela ressurreição de Jesus Cristo.
22 Xlá alh nac akapú̱n y chí huí nac ixpa̱xtú̱n Dios y hua̱k laclanca ma̱paksi̱naní̱n ángeles y tí takalhí li̱tlihueke takaxmatní tú li̱ma̱paksi̱nán.
22 Esse Jesus Cristo, tendo subido ao céu, está assentado à direita de Deus, depois de ter recebido a submissão dos anjos, dos principados e das potestades.
