Twenty: Twentieth Century New Testament (SM_TWENTY) vs BKJ
1 Some days later, when Jesus came back to Capernaum, the news spread that he was in a house there;
1 E, novamente, ele entrou em Cafarnaum depois de alguns dias, e divulgou-se que ele estava na casa.
2 and so many people collected together, that after a while there was no room for them even round the door; and he began to tell them his Message.
2 E imediatamente muitos se reuniram, de modo que não havia lugar para recebê-los, nem mesmo diante da porta; e ele lhes pregava a palavra.
3 And some people came, bringing to him a paralysed man, who was being carried by four bearers.
3 E vieram até ele, trazendo um paralítico, que era carregado por quatro.
4 Being, however, unable to get him near to Jesus, owing to the crowd, they removed the roofing below which Jesus was; and, when they had made an opening, they let down the mat on which the paralysed man was lying.
4 E, eles não podendo aproximar-se dele, por causa da multidão, destaparam o telhado onde estava; e, fazendo uma abertura, eles baixaram o leito onde estava deitado o paralítico.
5 When Jesus saw their faith, he said to the man: “Child, your sins are forgiven.”
5 E Jesus vendo a fé deles, disse ao paralítico: Filho, teus pecados estão perdoados.
6 But some of the Teachers of the Law who were sitting there were debating in their minds:
6 Mas estavam ali assentados alguns escribas, que argumentavam em seus corações:
7 “Why does this man speak like this? He is blaspheming! Who can forgive sins except God?”
7 Por que fala este homem blasfêmias? Quem pode perdoar pecados, senão Deus?
8 Jesus, at once intuitively aware that they were debating with themselves in this way, said to them: “Why are you debating in your minds about this?
8 E imediatamente quando Jesus percebeu em seu espírito que argumentavam entre si, disse-lhes: Por que argumentais sobre estas coisas em vossos corações?
9 Which is easier? — to say to the paralysed man, ‘Your sins are forgiven’? or to say ‘Get up, and take up your mat, and walk about’?
9 O que é mais fácil dizer ao paralítico: Teus pecados estão perdoados; ou dizer: Levanta-te, e toma o teu leito, e anda?
10 But that you may know that the Son of Man has power to forgive sins on earth” — here he said to the paralysed man —
10 Mas para que possas saber que o Filho do homem tem na terra poder para perdoar pecados (ele disse ao paralítico),
11 “To you I say, Get up, take up your mat, and return to your home.”
11 a ti te digo: Levanta-te, toma o teu leito, e vai pelo teu caminho para a tua casa.
12 The man got up, and immediately took up his mat, and went out before them all; at which they were amazed, and, as they praised God, they said: “We have never seen anything like this!”
12 E, imediatamente, ele se levantou, tomou o leito e saiu à vista de todos; de modo que todos se maravilharam e glorificaram a Deus, dizendo: Nós nunca vimos algo assim!
13 Jesus went out again to the Sea; and all the people came to him, and he taught them.
13 E ele saiu outra vez para a beira do mar; e toda a multidão ia ter com ele, e ele os ensinava.
14 As he went along, he saw Levi, the son of Alphaeus, sitting in the tax-office, and said to him: “Follow me.” Levi got up and followed him.
14 E, enquanto ele passava, viu Levi, filho de Alfeu, sentado na coletoria, e disse-lhe: Segue-me. E ele, levantando-se, o seguiu.
15 And later on he was in his house at table, and a number of tax-gatherers and outcasts took their places at table with Jesus and his disciples; for many of them were following him.
15 E aconteceu que, quando Jesus reclinou-se para comer em sua casa, muitos publicanos e pecadores reclinaram-se também junto com Jesus e seus discípulos; porquanto eram muitos, e eles o seguiam.
16 When the Teachers of the Law belonging to the party of the Pharisees saw that he was eating in the company of such people, they said to his disciples: “He is eating in the company of tax-gatherers and outcasts!”
16 E quando os escribas e fariseus viram-no comendo com publicanos e pecadores, disseram aos seus discípulos: Por que ele come e bebe com publicanos e pecadores?
17 Hearing this, Jesus said: “It is not those who are in health that need a doctor, but those who are ill. I did not come to call the religious, but the outcast.”
17 E Jesus ouvindo isto, disse-lhes: Os sãos não necessitam de médico, mas os que estão enfermos; eu não vim para chamar os justos, mas os pecadores ao arrependimento.
18 Now John’s disciples and the Pharisees were keeping a fast, and people came and asked Jesus: “Why is it that John’s disciples and the disciples of the Pharisees fast, while yours do not?”
18 E os discípulos de João e os fariseus jejuavam; e vieram e disseram-lhe: Por que jejuam os discípulos de João e os dos fariseus, mas os teus discípulos não jejuam?
19 Jesus answered: “Can the bridegroom’s friends fast, while the bridegroom is with them? As long as they have the bridegroom with them, they cannot fast.
19 E respondeu-lhes Jesus: Podem os convidados do noivo jejuar enquanto o noivo está com eles? Enquanto eles têm consigo o noivo, não podem jejuar.
20 But the days will come, when the bridegroom will be parted from them, and they will fast then — when that day comes.
20 Mas dias virão em que lhes será tirado o noivo, e então hão de jejuar naqueles dias.
21 “No man ever sews a piece of unshrunk cloth on an old garment; if he does, the patch tears away from it — the new from the old — and a worse rent is made.
21 Nenhum homem põe um pedaço de pano novo em roupa velha, do contrário o remendo novo rompe o velho, e faz-se maior o rasgo.
22 And no man ever puts new wine into old wine-skins; if he does, the wine will burst the skins, and both the wine and the skins are lost. But new wine is put into fresh skins.”
22 E nenhum homem põe vinho novo em odres velhos; do contrário o vinho novo rompe os odres, e o vinho se derrama, e os odres se perdem; mas vinho novo deve ser colocado dentro de odres novos.
23 One Sabbath, as Jesus was walking through the cornfields, his disciples began to pick the ears of wheat as they went along.
23 E aconteceu que ele passou entre os campos de trigo no dia do shabat; e os seus discípulos começaram, enquanto eles iam, a arrancar espigas de trigo.
24 “Look!” the Pharisees said to him, “why are they doing what is not allowed on the Sabbath?”
24 E os fariseus lhe disseram: Vê, por que eles estão fazendo no dia do shabat o que não é lícito?
25 “Have you never read,” answered Jesus, “what David did when he was in want and hungry, he and his companions —
25 Mas ele disse-lhes: Nunca lestes o que fez Davi, quando teve necessidade e estava faminto, ele e os que com ele estavam?
26 How he went into the House of God, in the time of Abiathar the High Priest, and ate ‘the consecrated bread,’ which only the priests are allowed to eat, and gave some to his comrades as well?”
26 Como entrou na casa de Deus, nos dias de Abiatar, sumo sacerdote, e comeu os pães da proposição, dos quais não era lícito comer senão aos sacerdotes, e deu também aos que com ele estavam?
27 Then Jesus added: “The Sabbath was made for man, and not man for the Sabbath;
27 E disse-lhes: O shabat foi feito para o homem, e não o homem para o shabat.
28 so the Son of Man is lord even of the Sabbath.”
28 Portanto o Filho do homem é Senhor também do shabat.
