¹ Do you speak what is right, you gods? With equity judge you your people?

¹ Falais deveras o que é reto, vós os poderosos? Julgais retamente, ó filhos dos homens?

² In the land you practise iniquity --- all of you; violence do you dispense with your hands.

² Não, antes no coração forjais iniqüidade; sobre a terra fazeis pesar a violência das vossas mãos.

³ The wicked go astray from the womb liars take the wrong path from their birth.

³ Alienam-se os ímpios desde a madre; andam errados desde que nasceram, proferindo mentiras.

⁴ Venom have they like the venom of snakes, they are like the deaf adder that stops her ears,

⁴ Têm veneno semelhante ao veneno da serpente; são como a víbora surda, que tapa os seus ouvidos,

⁵ and refuses to listen to the voice of the charmer, or binder of spells, no matter how cunning.

⁵ de sorte que não ouve a voz dos encantadores, nem mesmo do encantador perito em encantamento.

⁶ O God, break to pieces the teeth in their mouth, tear out the great teeth of the young lions, Lord.

⁶ Ó Deus, quebra-lhes os dentes na sua boca; arranca, Senhor, os caninos aos filhos dos leões.

⁷ May they melt away like running water! Like tender grass, cut down may they be!

⁷ Sumam-se como águas que se escoam; sejam pisados e murcham como a relva macia.

⁸ Like the snail that dissolves on its crawling path, like the birth untimely which sees not the sunlight.

⁸ Sejam como a lesma que se derrete e se vai; como o aborto de mulher, que nunca viu o sol.

⁹ Faster than a thorn-fire heats your pots, he will come with his tempest and sweep them away.

⁹ Que ele arrebate os espinheiros antes que cheguem a aquecer as vossas panelas, assim os verdes, como os que estão ardendo.

¹⁰ The sight of such vengeance will gladden the righteous; their feet they will wash in the blood of the wicked.

¹⁰ O justo se alegrará quando vir a vingança; lavará os seus pés no sangue do ímpio.

¹¹ People will say, “Yes, the just are rewarded: yes, on the earth is a God who is judge.”

¹¹ Então dirão os homens: Deveras há uma recompensa para o justo; deveras há um Deus que julga na terra.
