¹ Why glory in mischief, man of power? God’s kindness is all the day.

¹ Por que te glorias na malícia, ó homem poderoso? Pois a bondade de Deus permanece continuamente.

² Engulfing ruin you plot, your tongue like a razor sharpened, you practiser of deceit.

² A tua língua intenta o mal, como uma navalha afiada, traçando enganos.

³ Evil, not good, you love, and falsehood, not words of truth. (Selah)

³ Tu amas mais o mal do que o bem; e mais a mentira do que o falar conforme a retidão. (Selá)

⁴ But you love all words that devour, and a tongue that is given to deceit.

⁴ Amas todas as palavras devoradoras, ó língua fraudulenta.

⁵ But God, on his part, shall destroy you forever, grasp you and pluck you out of your tent, and root you out of the land of the living. (Selah)

⁵ Também Deus te destruirá para sempre; arrebatar-te-á e arrancar-te-á da tua habitação; e desarraigar-te-á da terra dos viventes. (Selá)

⁶ Smitten with awe at the sight, the righteous shall laugh at you.

⁶ E os justos o verão, e temerão, e se rirão dele, dizendo:

⁷ “Look” (they will say) “at the hero who did not make God his stronghold, but trusted in his great wealth and in the strength of his riches.”

⁷ Eis aqui o homem que não pôs a Deus por sua fortaleza; antes, confiou na abundância das suas riquezas e se fortaleceu na sua maldade.

⁸ But I am like a fresh olive-tree in the house of God. I trust in the kindness of God for ever and evermore.

⁸ Mas eu sou como a oliveira verde na Casa de Deus; confio na misericórdia de Deus para sempre, eternamente.

⁹ I will render you thanks for ever for what you have done. I will tell how good you are in the presence of those who love you.

⁹ Para sempre te louvarei, porque tu isso fizeste; e esperarei no teu nome, porque é bom diante de teus santos.
