¹ Fools say in their heart, “There is no God.” Vile, hateful their life is; not one does good.

¹ Disse o néscio no seu coração: Não há Deus. Têm-se corrompido, fazem-se abomináveis em suas obras, não há ninguém que faça o bem.

² From heaven the Lord looks out on humans, to see if any are wise, and care for God.

² O Senhor olhou desde os céus para os filhos dos homens, para ver se havia algum que tivesse entendimento e buscasse a Deus.

³ But all have turned bad, the taint is on all; not one does good, no, not one.

³ Desviaram-se todos e juntamente se fizeram imundos: não há quem faça o bem, não há sequer um.

⁴ Have they learned their lesson, those workers of evil? Who ate up my people, eating, devouring, never calling to the Lord.

⁴ Não terão conhecimento os que praticam a iniqüidade, os quais comem o meu povo, como se comessem pão, e não invocam ao Senhor?

⁵ Sore afraid will they be; for God is among those who are righteous,

⁵ Ali se acharam em grande pavor, porque Deus está na geração dos justos.

⁶ you may mock the plans of the poor, but the Lord is their refuge.

⁶ Vós envergonhais o conselho dos pobres, porquanto o Senhor é o seu refúgio.

⁷ If only help from Zion would come for Israel! When the Lord brings his people a change of fortune, how glad will be Jacob, and Israel how joyful!

⁷ Oh, se de Sião tivera já vindo a redenção de Israel! Quando o Senhor fizer voltar os cativos do seu povo, se regozijará Jacó e se alegrará Israel.
