1 In distress I cried to the Lord, and he answered me.
1 Cântico das peregrinações. Na hora da tribulação, clamei ao Senhor e ele me atendeu.
2 “Deliver me, Lord, from the lip that is false and the tongue that is crafty.”
2 Senhor, livrai minha alma dos lábios mentirosos e da língua pérfida.
3 What shall he give to you, you tongue that is crafty? What yet shall he give to you?
3 Que ganharás, qual será teu proveito, ó língua pérfida?
4 Arrows of warrior, sharpened, with glowing broom coals together.
4 Flechas agudas de guerreiro, carvões ardentes de giesta.
5 Woe is me that I sojourn in Meshech, that I live by the tents of Kedar.
5 Ai de mim por habitar em Mesec e viver em meio às tendas de Cedar!
6 Already too long have I dwelt among those who hate peace.
6 Por muito tempo minha alma tem vivido com aqueles que detestam a paz.
7 I am for peace: but when I speak of it, they are for war.
7 Só quero a paz, mas quando dela lhes falo, eles se dispõem para a guerra.
