1 If kindness and justice I sing, making melody to you, Lord.
1 Cantarei a lealdade e a justiça. A ti, Senhor, cantarei louvores!
2 I would look to the way that is blameless, and make it my own. Within my own house I would walk with an innocent heart.
2 Seguirei o caminho da integridade; quando virás ao meu encontro? Em minha casa viverei de coração íntegro.
3 I would never direct my eyes to a thing that is base. The impulse to stray I abhor it shall not cling to me.
3 Repudiarei todo mal. Odeio a conduta dos infiéis; jamais me dominará!
4 Far from me be perverseness of heart, or kinship with evil.
4 Longe estou dos perversos de coração; não quero envolver-me com o mal.
5 Whoso slanders their neighbour in secret, I bring them to silence: haughty looks and proud hearts I will not abide.
5 Farei calar ao que difama o próximo às ocultas. Não vou tolerar o homem de olhos arrogantes e de coração orgulhoso.
6 I will favour the true in the land, they shall live in my court. Those who walk in a way that is blameless shall be my attendant.
6 Meus olhos aprovam os fiéis da terra, e eles habitarão comigo. Somente quem tem vida íntegra me servirá.
7 No one shall live in my house who practises guile. No one that speaks a lie shall abide in my presence.
7 Quem pratica a fraude não habitará no meu santuário; o mentiroso não permanecerá na minha presença.
8 Morn by morn I will wholly wipe out all the bad in the land, and cut off from the Lord’s own city all workers of evil.
8 Cada manhã fiz calar todos os ímpios desta terra; eliminei todos os malfeitores da cidade do Senhor.
