1 If kindness and justice I sing, making melody to you, Lord.
1 Cantarei a misericórdia e o juízo; a ti, Senhor , cantarei.
2 I would look to the way that is blameless, and make it my own. Within my own house I would walk with an innocent heart.
2 Portar-me-ei com inteligência no caminho reto. Quando virás a mim? Andarei em minha casa com um coração sincero.
3 I would never direct my eyes to a thing that is base. The impulse to stray I abhor it shall not cling to me.
3 Não porei coisa má diante dos meus olhos; aborreço as ações daqueles que se desviam; nada se me pegará.
4 Far from me be perverseness of heart, or kinship with evil.
4 Um coração perverso se apartará de mim; não conhecerei o homem mau.
5 Whoso slanders their neighbour in secret, I bring them to silence: haughty looks and proud hearts I will not abide.
5 Aquele que difama o seu próximo às escondidas, eu o destruirei; aquele que tem olhar altivo e coração soberbo, não o suportarei.
6 I will favour the true in the land, they shall live in my court. Those who walk in a way that is blameless shall be my attendant.
6 Os meus olhos procurarão os fiéis da terra, para que estejam comigo; o que anda n um caminho reto, esse me servirá.
7 No one shall live in my house who practises guile. No one that speaks a lie shall abide in my presence.
7 O que usa de engano não ficará dentro da minha casa; o que profere mentiras não estará firme perante os meus olhos.
8 Morn by morn I will wholly wipe out all the bad in the land, and cut off from the Lord’s own city all workers of evil.
8 Pela manhã destruirei todos os ímpios da terra, para desarraigar da cidade do Senhor todos os que praticam a iniquidade.
