1 Masters, do what is right and fair by your slaves, for you know that you also have a Master — in heaven.
1 Vós, senhores, fazei o que for de justiça e eqüidade a vossos servos, sabendo que também tendes um Senhor nos céus.
2 Devote yourselves to prayer. Give your whole mind to it, and also offer thanksgiving;
2 Perseverai em oração, velando nela com ação de graças;
3 and at the same time pray for us, so that God may give us an opening for our message, so that we may speak of the truths hidden in the Christ — the truths for which I am in chains!
3 Orando também juntamente por nós, para que Deus nos abra a porta da palavra, a fim de falarmos do mistério de Cristo, pelo qual estou também preso;
4 Then I will make them known, as I ought to do.
4 Para que o manifeste, como me convém falar.
5 Show tact in your behavior to the outside world, making the most of every opportunity.
5 Andai com sabedoria para com os que estão de fora, remindo o tempo.
6 Let your conversation always be kindly, but not bland, season it, as it were, with salt; be aware in each case of the answer you should be giving.
6 A vossa palavra seja sempre agradável, temperada com sal, para que saibais como vos convém responder a cada um.
7 Our dear friend, Tychicus, will tell you all about me. He is a faithful minister, and a fellow servant in the Master’s cause.
7 Tíquico, irmão amado e fiel ministro, e conservo no Senhor, vos fará saber o meu estado;
8 I send him to you expressly that you may learn our circumstances, and that he may give you encouragement.
8 O qual vos enviei para o mesmo fim, para que saiba do vosso estado e console os vossos corações;
9 With him will be Onesimus, our dear faithful friend, who is one of yourselves. They will tell you all that is going on here.
9 Juntamente com Onésimo, amado e fiel irmão, que é dos vossos; eles vos farão saber tudo o que por aqui se passa.
10 My fellow prisoner, Aristarchus, sends you his greeting, and Barnabas’s cousin, Mark, sends his. (You have received directions about him. If he comes to you, make him welcome.)
10 Aristarco, que está preso comigo, vos saúda, e Marcos, o sobrinho de Barnabé, acerca do qual já recebestes mandamentos; se ele for ter convosco, recebei-o;
11 Joshua, who is called Justus, also sends his greeting. These are the only converts from Judaism who have worked with me for the kingdom of God; I have found them a great comfort.
11 E Jesus, chamado Justo; os quais são da circuncisão; são estes unicamente os meus cooperadores no reino de Deus; e para mim têm sido consolação.
12 Epaphras, who is one of yourselves, sends you his greeting. He is a servant of Christ Jesus, and is always most earnest in your behalf in his prayers, praying that you may stand firm, with a matured faith and with a sure conviction of all that is in accordance with God’s will.
12 Saúda-vos Epafras, que é dos vossos, servo de Cristo, combatendo sempre por vós em orações, para que vos conserveis firmes, perfeitos e consumados em toda a vontade de Deus.
13 I can bear testimony to the deep interest he takes in you, as well as in the followers at Laodicea and at Hierapolis.
13 Pois eu lhe dou testemunho de que tem grande zelo por vós, e pelos que estão em Laodicéia, e pelos que estão em Hierápolis.
14 Luke, our dear doctor, sends you his greeting, and Demas sends his.
14 Saúda-vos Lucas, o médico amado, e Demas.
15 Give my greeting to the followers at Laodicea, and to Nymphe, and to the church that meets at her house.
15 Saudai aos irmãos que estão em Laodicéia e a Ninfa e à igreja que está em sua casa.
16 And when this letter has been read to you, see that it is also read before the church at Laodicea, and that you yourselves read the letter which will be forwarded from there.
16 E, quando esta epístola tiver sido lida entre vós, fazei que também o seja na igreja dos laodicenses, e a que veio de Laodicéia lede-a vós também.
17 Give this message to Archippus — ‘Take care to discharge to the best of your ability the office to which you were appointed in the Master’s cause.’
17 E dizei a Arquipo: Atenta para o ministério que recebeste no Senhor, para que o cumpras.
18 I, Paul, add this greeting in my own handwriting. Remember these chains of mine. God’s blessing be with you.
18 Saudação de minha mão, de Paulo. Lembrai-vos das minhas prisões. A graça seja convosco. Amém.
