1 And the angel showed me ‘a river of the water of life,’ as clear as crystal, issuing from the throne of God and of the Lamb,
1 E mostrou-me o rio puro da água da vida, claro como cristal, que procedia do trono de Deus e do Cordeiro.
2 in the middle of the street of the city. On each side of the river was a Tree of life which bore twelve kinds of fruit, yielding its fruit each month; and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.
2 No meio da sua praça e de uma e da outra banda do rio, estava a árvore da vida, que produz doze frutos, dando seu fruto de mês em mês, e as folhas da árvore são para a saúde das nações.
3 ‘Every thing that is accursed will cease to be.’ The throne of God and of the Lamb will be within it, and his servants will worship him;
3 E ali nunca mais haverá maldição contra alguém; e nela estará o trono de Deus e do Cordeiro, e os seus servos o servirão.
4 they will see his face, and his name will be on their foreheads.
4 E verão o seu rosto, e na sua testa estará o seu nome.
5 Night will cease to be. They have no need of the light of a lamp, nor have they the light of the sun; for the ‘Lord God will be their light, and they will reign for ever and ever.’
5 E ali não haverá mais noite, e não necessitarão de lâmpada nem de luz do sol, porque o Senhor Deus os alumia, e reinarão para todo o sempre.
6 Then the angel said to me — ‘These words may be trusted and are true. The Lord, the God that inspires the prophets, sent his angel to show his servants what must quickly take place;
6 E disse-me: Estas palavras são fiéis e verdadeiras. O Senhor, o Deus dos santos profetas, enviou o seu anjo, para mostrar aos seus servos as coisas que em breve hão de acontecer.
7 and they said “I will come quickly.”Blessed will he be who lays to heart the words of the prophecy contained in this book.’
7 Eis que presto venho. Bem-aventurado aquele que guarda as palavras da profecia deste livro.
8 It was I, John, who heard and saw these things; and, when I heard and saw them, I prostrated myself in worship at the feet of the angel that showed them to me.
8 E eu, João, sou aquele que vi e ouvi estas coisas. E, havendo- as ouvido e visto, prostrei-me aos pés do anjo que mas mostrava para o adorar.
9 But he said to me — ‘Forbear; I am your fellow servant, and the fellow servant of your fellow prophets, and of all who lay to heart the words in this book. Worship God.’
9 E disse-me: Olha, não faças tal, porque eu sou conservo teu e de teus irmãos, os profetas, e dos que guardam as palavras deste livro. Adora a Deus.
10 Then the angel said to me — ‘Do not keep secret the words of the prophecy contained in this book; for the time is near.
10 E disse-me: Não seles as palavras da profecia deste livro, porque próximo está o tempo.
11 Let the wrong-doer continue to do wrong; the filthy-minded continue to be filthy; the righteous continue to act righteously; and the holy-minded continue to be holy.’
11 Quem é injusto faça injustiça ainda; e quem está sujo suje-se ainda; e quem é justo faça justiça ainda; e quem é santo seja santificado ainda.
12 (‘I will come quickly. I bring my rewards with me, to give to each what their actions deserve.
12 E eis que cedo venho, e o meu galardão está comigo para dar a cada um segundo a sua obra.
13 I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the beginning and the End.’)
13 Eu sou o Alfa e o Ômega, o Princípio e o Fim, o Primeiro e o Derradeiro.
14 Blessed will they be who wash their robes, that they may have the right to approach the Tree of life, and may enter the city by the gates.
14 Bem-aventurados aqueles que lavam as suas vestiduras no sangue do Cordeiro, para que tenham direito à árvore da vida e possam entrar na cidade pelas portas.
15 Outside will be the filthy, the sorcerers, the impure, the murderers, the idolaters, and all who love the false and live it.’
15 Ficarão de fora os cães e os feiticeiros, e os que se prostituem, e os homicidas, e os idólatras, e qualquer que ama e comete a mentira.
16 ‘I, Jesus, sent my angel to bear testimony to you about these things before the churches. I am the Scion and the Offspring of David, the bright star of the Morning.’
16 Eu, Jesus, enviei o meu anjo, para vos testificar estas coisas nas igrejas. Eu sou a Raiz e a Geração de Davi, a resplandecente Estrela da manhã.
17 ‘Come,’ say the Spirit and the Bride; and let him who hears say ‘Come.’ Let him who thirsts come; let him who will take the water of life freely.
17 E o Espírito e a esposa dizem: Vem! E quem ouve diga: Vem! E quem tem sede venha; e quem quiser tome de graça da água da vida.
18 I declare to all who hear the words of the prophecy contained in this book — ‘If anyone adds to it, God will add to his troubles the curses described in this book;
18 Porque eu testifico a todo aquele que ouvir as palavras da profecia deste livro que, se alguém lhes acrescentar alguma coisa, Deus fará vir sobre ele as pragas que estão escritas neste livro;
19 and if anyone takes away any of the words in the book containing this prophecy, God will take away his share in the Tree of life, and in the Holy City — as described in this book.’
19 e, se alguém tirar quaisquer palavras do livro desta profecia, Deus tirará a sua parte da árvore da vida e da Cidade Santa, que estão escritas neste livro.
20 He whose testimony this is says — ‘Assuredly I will come quickly.’‘Amen, come, Lord Jesus.’
20 Aquele que testifica estas coisas diz: Certamente, cedo venho. Amém! Ora, vem, Senhor Jesus!
21 May the blessing of the Lord Jesus Christ, be with his people.
21 A graça de nosso Senhor Jesus Cristo seja com todos vós. Amém!
