¹ To the chief musician, on eight. A Psalm of David. Help, O Jehovah, for the saint ceases to be; for the faithful fail from among the sons of men.

¹ Salva-nos, Senhor , porque faltam os homens benignos; porque são poucos os fiéis entre os filhos dos homens.

² They speak vanity, each man with his neighbor; with flattering lips and a double heart they speak.

² Cada um fala com falsidade ao seu próximo; falam com lábios lisonjeiros e coração dobrado.

³ Jehovah shall cut off all with flattering lips and the tongue that speaks great things;

³ O Senhor cortará todos os lábios lisonjeiros e a língua que fala soberbamente.

⁴ Who say, We shall be strong by our tongue; our lips are our own; who is lord over us?

⁴ Pois dizem: Com a nossa língua prevaleceremos; os lábios são nossos; quem é o senhor sobre nós?

⁵ For the pain of the poor, for the sighing of the needy, I will now rise up, says Jehovah; I will set in safety; he pants for it.

⁵ Por causa da opressão dos pobres e do gemido dos necessitados, me levantarei agora, diz o Senhor ; porei em salvo aquele para quem eles assopram.

⁶ The words of Jehovah are pure words, like silver refined in an earthen furnace, purified seven times.

⁶ As palavras do Senhor são palavras puras como prata refinada em forno de barro e purificada sete vezes.

⁷ You shall keep them, O Jehovah; You shall preserve them from this generation forever.

⁷ Tu nos guardarás, Senhor ; desta geração nos livrarás para sempre.

⁸ The wicked walk around on every side, when vileness is exalted by the sons of men.
