1 And Miriam and Aaron spoke against Moses, because of the Cushite woman whom he had taken. For he had taken a Cushite woman.
1 Miriã e Arão começaram a criticar Moisés porque ele havia se casado com uma mulher cuxita.
2 And they said, Has Jehovah spoken only by Moses? Has He not also spoken by us? And Jehovah heard.
2 "Será que o Senhor tem falado apenas por meio de Moisés? ", perguntaram. "Também não tem ele falado por meio de nós? " E o Senhor ouviu isso.
3 And the man Moses was very meek, more than any man who was on the face of the earth.
3 Ora, Moisés era um homem muito paciente, mais do que qualquer outro que havia na terra.
4 And Jehovah said suddenly to Moses, and to Aaron, and to Miriam, You three come out to the tabernacle of the congregation. And the three of them came out.
4 Imediatamente o Senhor disse a Moisés, a Arão e a Miriã: "Dirijam-se à Tenda do Encontro, vocês três". E os três foram para lá.
5 And Jehovah came down in the pillar of the cloud and stood at the tabernacle door, and called Aaron and Miriam. And both of them came out.
5 Então o Senhor desceu numa coluna de nuvem e, pondo-se à entrada da Tenda, chamou Arão e Miriã. Os dois vieram à frente,
6 And He said, Now hear My words, If your prophet is of Jehovah, I shall make Myself known to him in an appearance; I will speak to him in a dream.
6 e ele disse: "Ouçam as minhas palavras: Quando entre vocês há um profeta do Senhor, a ele me revelo em visões, em sonhos falo com ele.
7 It is not so with My servant Moses! He is faithful in all My house.
7 Não é assim, porém, com meu servo Moisés, que é fiel em toda a minha casa.
8 I speak to him mouth to mouth, and by an appearance, and not in riddles; and he carefully looks upon the form of Jehovah. So why have you not been afraid to speak against My servant, against Moses?
8 Com ele falo face a face, claramente, e não por enigmas; e ele vê a forma do Senhor. Por que não temeram criticar meu servo Moisés? "
9 And the anger of Jehovah glowed against them, and He left.
9 Então a ira do Senhor acendeu-se contra eles, e ele os deixou.
10 And the cloud turned away from the tent. And, behold Miriam was leprous as snow! And Aaron turned toward Miriam, and, behold, she was leprous!
10 Quando a nuvem se afastou da Tenda, Miriã estava leprosa; sua aparência era como a da neve. Arão voltou-se para ela, viu que ela estava com lepra
11 And Aaron said to Moses, Oh my lord, I beg you, do not lay sin upon us, by which we have done foolishly, and by which we have sinned.
11 e disse a Moisés: "Por favor, meu senhor, não nos castigue pelo pecado que tão tolamente cometemos.
12 I beg you, do not let her be as one dead, of whom the flesh is half consumed when he comes out of his mother's womb.
12 Não permita que ela fique como um feto abortado que sai do ventre de sua mãe com a metade do corpo destruído".
13 And Moses cried to Jehovah, saying, O God, I beg You, give healing to her, I beseech You.
13 Então Moisés clamou ao Senhor: "Ó Deus, por misericórdia, cura-a! "
14 And Jehovah said to Moses, If her father had but spat in her face, should she not be ashamed seven days? She shall be shut out seven days at the outside of the camp, and afterward she shall be brought in.
14 O Senhor respondeu a Moisés: "Se o pai dela lhe tivesse cuspido no rosto, não estaria ela envergonhada sete dias? Que fique isolada fora do acampamento sete dias; depois ela poderá ser trazida de volta".
15 And Miriam was shut out at the outside of the camp seven days, and the people did not pull up stakes until Miriam was brought in.
15 Então Miriã ficou isolada sete dias fora do acampamento, e o povo não partiu enquanto ela não foi trazida de volta.
16 And afterward the people pulled up from Hazeroth, and they encamped in the wilderness of Paran.
16 Depois disso, partiram de Hazerote e acamparam no deserto de Parã.
