1 And the sons of Israel did evil again in the sight of Jehovah when Ehud was dead.
1 Os filhos de Israel tornaram a fazer o que era mau perante o Senhor , depois de falecer Eúde.
2 And Jehovah sold them into the hand of Jabin the king of Canaan, who ruled in Hazor. And his army commander was Sisera; and he lived in Harosheth of the nations.
2 Entregou-os o Senhor nas mãos de Jabim, rei de Canaã, que reinava em Hazor. Sísera era o comandante do seu exército, o qual, então, habitava em Harosete-Hagoim.
3 And the sons of Israel cried to Jehovah, for he had nine hundred chariots of iron. And he mightily oppressed the sons of Israel twenty years.
3 Clamaram os filhos de Israel ao Senhor , porquanto Jabim tinha novecentos carros de ferro e, por vinte anos, oprimia duramente os filhos de Israel.
4 And Deborah the wife of Lapidoth, a woman prophetess, was judging Israel at that time.
4 Débora, profetisa, mulher de Lapidote, julgava a Israel naquele tempo.
5 And she lived under the palm tree of Deborah, between Ramah and Bethel, in the hills of Ephraim. And the sons of Israel went up to her for judgment.
5 Ela atendia debaixo da palmeira de Débora, entre Ramá e Betel, na região montanhosa de Efraim; e os filhos de Israel subiam a ela a juízo.
6 And she sent and called for Barak, the son of Abinoam, out of Kadesh in Naphtali, and said to him, Has not Jehovah the God of Israel commanded? Go and draw toward Mount Tabor, and take ten thousand men of the sons of Naphtali, and of the sons of Zebulun with you.
6 Mandou ela chamar a Baraque, filho de Abinoão, de Quedes de Naftali, e disse-lhe: Porventura, o Senhor , Deus de Israel, não deu ordem, dizendo: Vai, e leva gente ao monte Tabor, e toma contigo dez mil homens dos filhos de Naftali e dos filhos de Zebulom?
7 And I will draw to you at the Kishon River Sisera the army commander of Jabin, and his chariots, and his multitude, and shall give him into your hands.
7 E farei ir a ti para o ribeiro Quisom a Sísera, comandante do exército de Jabim, com os seus carros e as suas tropas; e o darei nas tuas mãos.
8 And Barak said to her, If you go with me, then I will go. And if you will not go with me, I will not go.
8 Então, lhe disse Baraque: Se fores comigo, irei; porém, se não fores comigo, não irei.
9 And she said, I will certainly go with you; only, your glory shall surely not be on the way which you are going, for Jehovah shall sell Sisera into the hand of a woman. And Deborah rose up and went with Barak to Kedesh.
9 Ela respondeu: Certamente, irei contigo, porém não será tua a honra da investida que empreendes; pois às mãos de uma mulher o Senhor entregará a Sísera. E saiu Débora e se foi com Baraque para Quedes.
10 And Barak called Zebulun and Naphtali together to Kedesh. And he went up with ten thousand men at his feet. And Deborah went up with him.
10 Então, Baraque convocou a Zebulom e a Naftali em Quedes, e com ele subiram dez mil homens; e Débora também subiu com ele.
11 And Heber the Kenite had broken away from the Kenites, he being of the children of Hobab, the father-in-law of Moses. And he pitched his tent by the oak in Zaanaim, near Kedesh.
11 Ora, Héber, queneu, se tinha apartado dos queneus, dos filhos de Hobabe, sogro de Moisés, e havia armado as suas tendas até ao carvalho de Zaananim, que está junto a Quedes.
12 And they told Sisera that Barak the son of Abinoam had gone up to Mount Tabor.
12 Anunciaram a Sísera que Baraque, filho de Abinoão, tinha subido ao monte Tabor.
13 And Sisera mustered all his chariots, nine hundred chariots of iron, and all the people with him, from Harosheth of the nations, to the Kishon River.
13 Sísera convocou todos os seus carros, novecentos carros de ferro, e todo o povo que estava com ele, de Harosete-Hagoim para o ribeiro Quisom.
14 And Deborah said to Barak, Rise up, for this is the day in which Jehovah has given Sisera into your hand. Has not Jehovah gone out before you? And Barak went down from Mount Tabor, and ten thousand men after him.
14 Então, disse Débora a Baraque: Dispõe-te, porque este é o dia em que o Senhor entregou a Sísera nas tuas mãos; porventura, o Senhor não saiu adiante de ti? Baraque, pois, desceu do monte Tabor, e dez mil homens, após ele.
15 And Jehovah routed Sisera, and all the chariots, and all the army, by the mouth of the sword, before Barak. And Sisera came down from the chariot and fled on his feet.
15 E o Senhor derrotou a Sísera, e todos os seus carros, e a todo o seu exército a fio de espada, diante de Baraque; e Sísera saltou do carro e fugiu a pé.
16 And Barak pursued the chariots and went after the army, to Harosheth of the nations. And all the army of Sisera fell by the mouth of the sword; there was not even one left.
16 Mas Baraque perseguiu os carros e os exércitos até Harosete-Hagoim; e todo o exército de Sísera caiu a fio de espada, sem escapar nem sequer um.
17 And Sisera fled on his feet to the tent of Jael, the wife of Heber the Kenite. For there was peace between Jabin the king of Hazor and the house of Heber the Kenite.
17 Porém Sísera fugiu a pé para a tenda de Jael, mulher de Héber, queneu; porquanto havia paz entre Jabim, rei de Hazor, e a casa de Héber, queneu.
18 And Jael went out to meet Sisera, and said to him, Turn in, my lord; turn in to me; do not fear. And he turned in to her into the tent; and she covered him with a rug.
18 Saindo Jael ao encontro de Sísera, disse-lhe: Entra, senhor meu, entra na minha tenda, não temas. Retirou-se para a sua tenda, e ela pôs sobre ele uma coberta.
19 And he said to her, Please give me a little water to drink, for I am thirsty. And she opened a skin of milk, and gave him drink, and covered him.
19 Então, ele lhe disse: Dá-me, peço-te, de beber um pouco de água, porque tenho sede. Ela abriu um odre de leite, e deu-lhe de beber, e o cobriu.
20 And he said to her, Stand at the door of the tent, and it shall be if anyone comes in and asks you, and says, Is there a man here? Then you shall way, There is not.
20 E ele lhe disse mais: Põe-te à porta da tenda; e há de ser que, se vier alguém e te perguntar: Há aqui alguém?, responde: Não.
21 And Jael the wife of Heber took a tent peg, and took a hammer in her hand, and went to him quietly. And she drove the peg into his temple, and she beat it into the ground. And he had been fast asleep, and faint; and he died.
21 Então, Jael, mulher de Héber, tomou uma estaca da tenda, e lançou mão de um martelo, e foi-se mansamente a ele, e lhe cravou a estaca na fonte, de sorte que penetrou na terra, estando ele em profundo sono e mui exausto; e, assim, morreu.
22 And, behold, as Barak followed Sisera, Jael came out to meet him, and said to him, Come, and I will show you the man whom you are seeking. And he came in to her, and, behold! Sisera had fallen dead with the peg in his temple.
22 E eis que, perseguindo Baraque a Sísera, Jael lhe saiu ao encontro e lhe disse: Vem, e mostrar-te-ei o homem que procuras. Ele a seguiu; e eis que Sísera jazia morto, e a estaca na fonte.
23 And on that day God humbled Jabin the king of Canaan before the sons of Israel.
23 Assim, Deus, naquele dia, humilhou a Jabim, rei de Canaã, diante dos filhos de Israel.
24 And the hand of the sons of Israel went on, going on and pressing hard on Jabin the king of Canaan, until they had cut off Jabin the king of Canaan.
24 E cada vez mais a mão dos filhos de Israel prevalecia contra Jabim, rei de Canaã, até que o exterminaram.
