1 And there was a man of the hills of Ephraim, and his name was Micah.
1 Havia um homem da região montanhosa de Efraim cujo nome era Mica,
2 And he said to his mother, The eleven hundred pieces of silver which were taken from you, and you uttered a curse, even also speaking in my ear; behold, the silver is with me. I have taken it. And his mother said, Blessed be my son by Jehovah.
2 o qual disse a sua mãe: Os mil e cem siclos de prata que te foram tirados, por cuja causa deitavas maldições e de que também me falaste, eis que esse dinheiro está comigo; eu o tomei. Então, lhe disse a mãe: Bendito do Senhor seja meu filho!
3 And he gave back the eleven hundred silver pieces to his mother. And his mother said, I have wholly consecrated the silver to Jehovah from my hand for my son, to make a graven image and a molten image. And now, I am returning it to you.
3 Assim, restituiu os mil e cem siclos de prata a sua mãe, que disse: De minha mão dedico este dinheiro ao Senhor para meu filho, para fazer uma imagem de escultura e uma de fundição, de sorte que, agora, eu to devolvo.
4 And he returned the silver to his mother. And his mother took two hundred silver pieces and gave them to a refiner. And he made it a graven image, and a molten image. And it was in Micah's house.
4 Porém ele restituiu o dinheiro a sua mãe, que tomou duzentos siclos de prata e os deu ao ourives, o qual fez deles uma imagem de escultura e uma de fundição; e a imagem esteve em casa de Mica.
5 And the man Micah had a house of gods. And he made an ephod, and household idols, and consecrated one of his sons And he was a priest for him.
5 E, assim, este homem, Mica, veio a ter uma casa de deuses; fez uma estola sacerdotal e ídolos do lar e consagrou a um de seus filhos, para que lhe fosse por sacerdote.
6 And in those days there was no king in Israel; each man did the right in his own eyes.
6 Naqueles dias, não havia rei em Israel; cada qual fazia o que achava mais reto.
7 And there was a young man of Bethlehem in Judah, of the family of Judah; and he was a Levite. And he resided there.
7 Havia um moço de Belém de Judá, da tribo de Judá, que era levita e se demorava ali.
8 And the man went out of the city, out of Bethlehem-judah, to live where he might find a place. And he came to the hills of Ephraim, to the house of Micah, to work his way.
8 Esse homem partiu da cidade de Belém de Judá para ficar onde melhor lhe parecesse. Seguindo, pois, o seu caminho, chegou à região montanhosa de Efraim, até à casa de Mica.
9 And Micah said to him, From where do you come? And he said to him, I am a Levite of Bethlehemjudah, and I am going to live where I may find a place.
9 Perguntou-lhe Mica: Donde vens? Ele lhe respondeu: Sou levita de Belém de Judá e vou ficar onde melhor me parecer.
10 And Micah said to him, Live with me, and be a father and a priest to me. I will give you ten silver pieces for the days, and an order of garments, and your upkeep. And the Levite went in.
10 Então, lhe disse Mica: Fica comigo e sê-me por pai e sacerdote; e cada ano te darei dez siclos de prata, o vestuário e o sustento. O levita entrou
11 And the Levite was willing to live with the man, and the young man was to him as one of his sons.
11 e consentiu em ficar com aquele homem; e o moço lhe foi como um de seus filhos.
12 And Micah consecrated the hand of the Levite and the young man was a priest to him; and he was in Micah's house.
12 Consagrou Mica ao moço levita, que lhe passou a ser sacerdote; e ficou em casa de Mica.
13 And Micah said, Now I know that Jehovah will do me good, for the Levite is a priest to me.
13 Então, disse Mica: Sei, agora, que o Senhor me fará bem, porquanto tenho um levita por sacerdote.
