1 And the life of Sarah was a hundred and twenty seven years, the years of the life of Sarah.
1 Sara viveu cento e vinte e sete anos.
2 And Sarah died in Kirjatharba, it is Hebron, in the land of Canaan. And Abraham went in to mourn for Sarah and to weep for her.
2 Morreu em Quiriate-Arba, que é Hebrom, na terra de Canaã. Abraão veio lamentar Sara e chorar por ela.
3 And Abraham rose up from before his dead and spoke to the sons of Heth, saying,
3 Depois, Abraão levantou-se da presença da falecida e falou aos filhos de Hete:
4 I am an alien and a visitor with you. Give to me a possession among you, so that I may bury my dead from before the eyes.
4 — Sou estrangeiro e morador entre vocês. Deixem-me adquirir uma sepultura na terra de vocês, para que eu possa sepultar a minha falecida mulher.
5 And the sons of Heth answered Abraham, saying to him,
5 Os filhos de Hete responderam a Abraão, dizendo:
6 Hear us, my lord. You are a prince among us. Bury your dead in the best of our burying places. Not a man of us will withhold his burying place from you, from burying your dead.
6 — Escute: o senhor é um príncipe de Deus em nosso meio. Sepulte a falecida numa das nossas melhores sepulturas. Nenhum de nós se recusará a ceder a sua própria sepultura, para que você sepulte a sua falecida.
7 And Abraham rose up and bowed himself to the people of the land, to the sons of Heth.
7 Então Abraão se levantou e se inclinou diante do povo da terra, diante dos filhos de Hete.
8 And he spoke with them, saying, If it is your desire to bury my dead from before the eyes, hear me. Ask for me of Ephron the son of Zohar,
8 E lhes falou, dizendo: — Se é do agrado de vocês que eu sepulte a minha falecida, escutem-me e intercedam por mim junto a Efrom, filho de Zoar,
9 that he may give to me the cave of Machpelah which he has, which is in the edge of his field. In full silver let him give it to me among you, for a possession of a burying place.
9 para que ele me ceda a caverna de Macpela, que pertence a ele e que fica no extremo do seu campo. Que ele a entregue a mim pelo devido preço, para que eu tenha uma sepultura entre vocês.
10 And Ephron was sitting among the sons of Heth. And Ephron the Hittite replied to Abraham in the ears of the sons of Heth, to all those entering the gate of his city, saying,
10 Ora, Efrom, o heteu, estava sentado no meio dos filhos de Hete. Ele respondeu a Abraão, de maneira que pudesse ser ouvido pelos filhos de Hete, a saber, por todos os que entravam pelo portão da cidade:
11 No, my lord, hear me. I have given the field to you; also the cave that is in it. I have given it to you. Before the eyes of the sons of my people I have given it to you. Bury your dead.
11 — De modo nenhum, meu senhor. Escute: eu lhe dou o campo e também a caverna que nele está. Na presença dos filhos do meu povo eu lhe dou isso; sepulte a sua falecida.
12 And Abraham bowed before the people of the land,
12 Então Abraão se inclinou diante do povo da terra
13 and spoke to Ephron in the ears of the people of the land, saying, Only if you would hear me. I have given the silver for the field; take it from me, that I may bury my dead there.
13 e falou a Efrom, na presença do povo da terra, dizendo: — Mas, se você concorda, escute: pagarei o preço do campo; aceite-o de mim, e sepultarei ali a minha falecida.
14 And Ephron answered Abraham, saying to him,
14 Efrom respondeu:
15 My lord, hear me; the land is worth four hundred shekels of silver; what is that between me and you? And bury your dead.
15 — Meu senhor, escute: um terreno que vale quatrocentas barras de prata, que é isso entre mim e você? Sepulte ali a sua falecida.
16 And Abraham listened to Ephron, and Abraham weighed to Ephron the silver of which he had spoken in the ears of the sons of Heth, four hundred silver shekels which passes with the merchant.
16 Abraão ouviu Efrom dizer isso e pesou-lhe a prata de que este lhe tinha falado na presença dos filhos de Hete, a saber, quatro quilos e meio de prata, segundo o peso usado entre os mercadores.
17 And was certified the field of Ephron in Machpelah, which was before Mamre, the cave and the field in it, and all the trees in the field, which were in all its borders around it,
17 Assim, o campo de Efrom, que estava em Macpela, em frente de Manre, o campo, a caverna e todo o arvoredo que nele havia, e todo o terreno ao redor
18 to Abraham for a purchase before the sons of Heth, with all entering the gate of his city.
18 passaram a ser propriedade de Abraão, na presença dos filhos de Hete, a saber, de todos os que entravam pelo portão da cidade.
19 And after this Abraham buried his wife Sarah at the cave of the field of Machpelah before Mamre; it is Hebron, in the land of Canaan.
19 Depois, Abraão sepultou Sara, a sua mulher, na caverna do campo de Macpela, em frente de Manre, que é Hebrom, na terra de Canaã.
20 And the field was certified, and the cave in it, to Abraham for a burial possession from the sons of Heth.
20 E assim, pelos filhos de Hete, se confirmou a Abraão o direito do campo e da caverna que nele estava, como propriedade para servir de sepultura.
