1 And afterward Moses and Aaron came in and said to Pharaoh, So says Jehovah the God of Israel, Send away My people, and they shall feast to Me in the wilderness.
1 E depois foram Moisés e Arão e disseram a Faraó: Assim diz o SENHOR Deus de Israel: Deixa meu povo ir, para que me celebre uma festa no deserto.
2 And Pharaoh said, Who is Jehovah that I should listen to His voice to send away Israel? I do not know Jehovah, and I also will not send Israel away.
2 E disse Faraó: Quem é o SENHOR, para que eu obedeça à sua voz para deixar Israel ir? Não conheço o SENHOR, tampouco deixarei Israel ir.
3 And they said, The God of the Hebrews has met with us. Now let us go a journey of three days into the wilderness and sacrifice to Jehovah our God, that He not strike us with plague or with sword.
3 E eles disseram: O Deus dos hebreus nos encontrou. Deixa-nos ir, rogamos-te, três dias de jornada para o deserto; e oferecer sacrifícios ao SENHOR nosso Deus, para que ele não venha sobre nós com peste, ou com a espada.
4 And the king of Egypt said to them, Moses and Aaron, why do you loose the people from their work? You go to your burdens.
4 E o rei do Egito lhes disse: Por que vós, Moisés e Arão, impedis o povo de trabalhar? Ide às vossas cargas.
5 And Pharaoh said, Behold, the people of the land are many now, and you make them cease from their burdens.
5 E Faraó disse: Eis que o povo da terra agora é muito, e vós os fazeis descansar de suas cargas.
6 And Pharaoh commanded the slave-drivers of the people, and their overseers, that day, saying,
6 E no mesmo dia Faraó ordenou aos capatazes do povo, e aos seus oficiais, dizendo:
7 You shall not go on giving straw to the people to make bricks, as yesterday and the third day. They shall go and pick up straw for themselves.
7 Já não dareis ao povo a palha para fazer tijolos, como até agora. Que eles mesmos vão e ajuntem palha para si.
8 And the fixed number of bricks which they were making yesterday and the third day you shall put on them. You shall not diminish from it. For they are idle; so they are crying, saying, Let us go, let us sacrifice to our God.
8 E a conta dos tijolos que faziam até agora, esta poreis sobre eles. Não diminuireis coisa alguma. Pois eles estão ociosos, por isso clamam, dizendo: Deixa-nos ir e sacrificar ao nosso Deus.
9 Let the bondage be heavy on the men, that they may work in it, and may not trust in the lying words.
9 Que mais trabalho seja colocado sobre os homens, para que nele se ocupem, e não considerem palavras vãs.
10 And the slave-drivers of the people, and their overseers went out and spoke to the people, saying, Pharaoh has said this, I will not give you straw.
10 E saíram os capatazes do povo, e os seus oficiais, e falaram ao povo, dizendo: Assim diz Faraó: Não vos darei palha.
11 You go take straw for yourselves from wherever you may find it. For not a thing will be reduced from your work.
11 Ide vós mesmos, ajuntai a palha onde a achardes; mas nada de vosso trabalho será diminuído.
12 And the people scattered in all the land of Egypt to pick up stubble for straw.
12 Assim o povo se espalhou por toda a terra do Egito para ajuntar restolho em vez de palha.
13 And the slave-drivers were demanding, saying, Finish your work, the matter of a day in its day, as when there was straw.
13 E os capatazes os apressavam, dizendo: Cumpri vossos trabalhos, vossas tarefas diárias, como quando havia palha.
14 And the overseers of the sons of Israel were beaten, those whom the slave-drivers of Pharaoh had put over them, saying, Why have you not finished your appointed task, to make bricks as a day ago and the day before, both yesterday and today?
14 E foram açoitados os oficiais dos filhos de Israel, que os capatazes de Faraó haviam posto sobre eles, e reclamavam: Por que não cumpristes vossa tarefa de fazer tijolos ontem e hoje, como até agora?
15 And the overseers of the sons of Israel came in and cried to Pharaoh, saying, Why do you do this way to your slaves?
15 Então os oficiais dos filhos de Israel foram e clamaram a Faraó, dizendo: Por que tratas assim os teus servos?
16 No straw is given to your slaves, and they are saying to us, Make bricks. And, behold, your slaves are beaten, but your people are at fault.
16 Não se dá palha a teus servos, e eles nos dizem: Fazei tijolos. E eis que os teus servos são açoitados; mas a culpa está em teu próprio povo.
17 And he said, You are lazy and idle. So you are saying, Let us go, let us sacrifice to Jehovah.
17 Mas ele disse: Vós estais ociosos; vós estais ociosos, por isso dizeis: Deixa-nos ir e fazer sacrifício para o SENHOR.
18 Therefore, go now and work. And straw will not be given to you; and a certain number of bricks you shall deliver.
18 Portanto, agora ide e trabalhai, porque não se vos dará palha, porém cumprireis a conta dos tijolos.
19 And the overseers of the sons of Israel saw themselves in affliction, saying, You shall not diminish from your bricks, the matter of a day in its day.
19 E os oficiais dos filhos de Israel notaram que eles estavam em uma má situação, depois que foi dito: Não diminuireis coisa alguma dos tijolos da vossa tarefa diária.
20 And they met Moses and Aaron standing to meet them when they came from Pharaoh.
20 E encontraram Moisés e Arão que estavam no caminho, quando vinham de Faraó,
21 And they said to them, May Jehovah look on you and judge, you who have made our odor to stink in Pharaoh's eyes and in the eyes of his servants, to give a sword in their hands to kill us.
21 e disseram a eles: O SENHOR olhe para vós e julgue, porquanto fizestes que o nosso cheiro fosse abominado aos olhos de Faraó, e aos olhos dos seus servos, colocando-lhes nas mãos uma espada para nos matar.
22 And Moses returned to Jehovah and said, Lord, why have You done evil to this people? Why then have You sent me?
22 E Moisés voltou ao SENHOR, e disse: Senhor, por que trataste tão mal a este povo? Por que é que me enviaste?
23 And since I came in to Pharaoh to speak in Your name, he has done evil to this people. And You did not certainly deliver your people.
23 Porque desde que fui a Faraó para falar em teu nome, ele fez mal a este povo. E tu também não livraste teu povo.
