1 And Jehovah spoke to Moses, Come, go up from here, you and the people whom you have caused to go up out from the land of Egypt, to the land which I swore to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, saying, I will give it to your seed.
1 E disse o SENHOR a Moisés: Vai, sobe daqui, tu e o povo que fizeste subir da terra do Egito, para a terra que jurei a Abraão, a Isaque, e a Jacó, dizendo: À tua semente a darei.
2 And I will send an angel before your face, and I will drive out the Canaanite, the Amorite, and the Hittite and the Perizzite, and the Hivite, and the Jebusite;
2 E enviarei um anjo adiante de ti e expulsarei os cananeus, os amorreus, os heteus, os ferezeus, os heveus e os jebuseus,
3 to a land flowing with milk and honey. For I will not go up among you, for you are a stiffnecked people, lest I consume you in the way.
3 para uma terra que mana leite e mel; porque eu não subirei no meio de ti, porque és um povo obstinado, para que eu não te consuma no caminho.
4 And the people heard this evil word, and they mourned, and did not put any ornaments on themselves.
4 E quando o povo ouviu essa má notícia, entristeceu-se; e nenhum homem pôs sobre si os seus ornamentos.
5 And Jehovah said to Moses, Say to the sons of Israel, You are a stiffnecked people; in one instant I will go up among you and I will consume you. And now lay off from you your ornaments, that I may know what I shall do to you.
5 O SENHOR, pois, havia dito a Moisés: Dize aos filhos de Israel: Vós sois um povo obstinado; se por um momento eu subir no meio de ti, te consumirei. Por isso, agora tira de ti teus ornamentos, para que eu saiba o que fazer contigo.
6 And the sons of Israel pulled off their ornaments, from Mount Horeb.
6 E os filhos de Israel tiraram de si os seus ornamentos junto ao monte Horebe.
7 And Moses took the tent and pitched it outside the camp, far off from the camp. And he called it the tabernacle of the congregation. And it happened that everyone seeking Jehovah went to the tabernacle of the congregation which was outside the camp.
7 E Moisés tomou o tabernáculo, e o armou fora do acampamento, distante do acampamento, e o chamou de tabernáculo da congregação. E aconteceu que todo aquele que buscava o SENHOR saía para o tabernáculo da congregação, que estava fora do acampamento.
8 And it happened as Moses went to the tabernacle, the people all rose and stood, each one at the door of his tent. And they looked after Moses until he had gone into the tabernacle.
8 E aconteceu que, saindo Moisés para o tabernáculo, todo o povo se levantava, e ficava cada homem diante da porta de sua tenda, e olhava Moisés pelas costas, até ele entrar no tabernáculo.
9 And it happened as Moses went into the tabernacle, the pillar of cloud would come down and stand at the door of the tabernacle. And He spoke with Moses.
9 E acontecia que, quando Moisés entrava no tabernáculo, a coluna de nuvem descia e ficava à porta do tabernáculo, e o SENHOR falava com Moisés.
10 And all the people would see the pillar of the cloud standing at the door of the tabernacle. And all the people rose and bowed themselves, each one at the door of his tent.
10 E todo o povo via a coluna de nuvem ficar à porta do tabernáculo, e todo o povo se levantava; e adorava, cada um à porta da sua tenda.
11 And Jehovah would speak to Moses face to face, as a man speaks to his friend. And he would return to the camp. And his attendant, Joshua the son of Nun, a young man did not leave the middle of the tabernacle.
11 E o SENHOR falava com Moisés face a face, como um homem fala com seu amigo. E ele voltava novamente ao acampamento, mas seu servo Josué, o filho de Num, um jovem, não se apartava do meio do tabernáculo.
12 And Moses said to Jehovah, Behold, You are saying to me, Cause this people to go up. And You, You have not told me whom You will send with me. And yet You have said, I know you by name, and also you have found favor in My eyes.
12 E disse Moisés ao SENHOR: Vê, tu me dizes: Faz subir este povo, e não me deste a saber quem enviarás comigo. Mas disseste: Conheço-te pelo nome, e tu encontraste graça aos meus olhos.
13 And now, if I have found favor in Your eyes, please make me see Your ways, and let me know You, so that I may find favor in Your eyes; and consider that this nation is Your people.
13 Por isso, agora, rogo-te, se encontrei graça aos teus olhos; mostra-me agora o teu caminho, para que eu te conheça, para que eu encontre graça aos teus olhos, e considera que esta nação é o teu povo.
14 And He said, My presence will go with you , and I will give you rest.
14 E ele disse: Minha presença irá contigo, e eu te darei descanso.
15 And the said to Him, If Your presence does not go, do not cause us to go up from here.
15 E ele disse-lhe: Se tua presença não for comigo, não nos faças subir daqui.
16 And now by what can it be known that I and Your people have found favor in Your eyes? Is it not in Your going with us? And we are distinguished, I and Your people, from all the nations which are on the face of the earth?
16 Como pois se poderá saber que achamos graça aos teus olhos, eu e teu povo? Não é em andares tu conosco? Assim seremos separados, eu e teu povo, de todos os povos que estão sobre a face da terra.
17 And Jehovah said to Moses, This thing which you have spoken I will do. For you have found favor in My eyes, and I know you by name.
17 E disse o SENHOR a Moisés: Farei também isto que disseste, pois encontraste graça aos meus olhos, e eu te conheço pelo nome.
18 And he said, I pray, let me see Your glory.
18 E ele disse: Suplico-te, mostra-me a tua glória.
19 And He said, I will cause all My goodness to pass before your face. And I will call out the name of Jehovah before your face. And I will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy.
19 E ele disse: Farei toda a minha bondade passar diante de ti, e proclamarei o nome do SENHOR diante de ti. E terei misericórdia de quem eu tiver misericórdia, e me compadecerei de quem eu me compadecer.
20 And he said, You are not able to see My face; for no man can see Me and live.
20 E disse: Não podes ver a minha face, porque nenhum homem me verá e viverá.
21 And Jehovah said, Behold, a place by Me! And you shall stand on a rock.
21 E disse o SENHOR: Vê, há um lugar junto a mim, e tu ficarás sobre a rocha.
22 And as My glory is passing it will be that I will put you in a cleft of the rock; and I will cover My palm over you during My passing.
22 E acontecerá, quando a minha glória passar, que eu te porei em uma fenda da rocha, e te cobrirei com a minha mão enquanto eu passar,
23 And I will remove My palm, and you shall see My back; but My face cannot be seen.
23 e tirarei a minha mão, e tu me verás pelas minhas costas; mas a minha face não será vista.
