1 In the third month of the going out of the sons of Israel from the land of Egypt, on this day they came to the wilderness of Sinai.
1 No terceiro mês da saída dos filhos de Israel da terra do Egito, no primeiro dia desse mês, vieram ao deserto do Sinai.
2 And they pulled up stakes from Rephidim and came to the wilderness of Sinai. And they camped in the wilderness. And Israel camped there before the mountain.
2 Tendo partido de Refidim, vieram ao deserto do Sinai, no qual se acamparam; ali, pois, se acampou Israel em frente do monte.
3 And Moses went up to God. And Jehovah called to him from the mountain, saying, You shall say this to the house of Jacob, and tell it to the sons of Israel.
3 Subiu Moisés a Deus, e do monte o Senhor o chamou e lhe disse: Assim falarás à casa de Jacó e anunciarás aos filhos de Israel:
4 You have seen what I did to Egypt; and I bore you on wings of eagles and brought you to Me.
4 Tendes visto o que fiz aos egípcios, como vos levei sobre asas de águia e vos cheguei a mim.
5 And now if you will surely listen to My voice, and will keep My covenant, you shall become a special treasure to Me above all the nations, for all the earth is Mine.
5 Agora, pois, se diligentemente ouvirdes a minha voz e guardardes a minha aliança, então, sereis a minha propriedade peculiar dentre todos os povos; porque toda a terra é minha;
6 And you shall become a kingdom of priests for Me, a holy nation. These are the words which you shall speak to the sons of Israel.
6 vós me sereis reino de sacerdotes e nação santa. São estas as palavras que falarás aos filhos de Israel.
7 And Moses came and called the elders of the people. And he put all these words before them which Jehovah commanded him.
7 Veio Moisés, chamou os anciãos do povo e expôs diante deles todas estas palavras que o Senhor lhe havia ordenado.
8 And all the people answered together and said, All which Jehovah has spoken we will do. And Moses brought back the words of the people to Jehovah.
8 Então, o povo respondeu à uma: Tudo o que o Senhor falou faremos. E Moisés relatou ao Senhor as palavras do povo.
9 And Jehovah said to Moses, Behold, I come to you in a darkness of clouds, so that the people may hear My speaking with you, and in you they may believe forever. And Moses told the words of the people to Jehovah.
9 Disse o Senhor a Moisés: Eis que virei a ti numa nuvem escura, para que o povo ouça quando eu falar contigo e para que também creiam sempre em ti. Porque Moisés tinha anunciado as palavras do seu povo ao Senhor .
10 And Jehovah said to Moses, Go to the people and sanctify them today and tomorrow. And let them wash their clothes.
10 Disse também o Senhor a Moisés: Vai ao povo e purifica-o hoje e amanhã. Lavem eles as suas vestes
11 And be ready for the third day. For on the third day Jehovah will go down before the eyes of all the people on the mountain of Sinai.
11 e estejam prontos para o terceiro dia; porque no terceiro dia o Senhor , à vista de todo o povo, descerá sobre o monte Sinai.
12 And you shall set limits to the people all around, saying, Be careful for yourselves, not going up into the mountain and touching its border; everyone touching the mountain shall surely be killed.
12 Marcarás em redor limites ao povo, dizendo: Guardai-vos de subir ao monte, nem toqueis o seu limite; todo aquele que tocar o monte será morto.
13 Not a hand shall touch him, but surely he shall be stoned, or surely he shall be shot through. He shall not live, whether animal or man. At the sounding of the ram's horn, they shall go up into the mountain.
13 Mão nenhuma tocará neste, mas será apedrejado ou flechado; quer seja animal, quer seja homem, não viverá. Quando soar longamente a buzina, então, subirão ao monte.
14 And Moses went from the mountain to the people. And he sanctified the people, and they washed their clothes.
14 Moisés, tendo descido do monte ao povo, consagrou o povo; e lavaram as suas vestes.
15 And he said to the people, Be ready for the third day. Do not approach a woman.
15 E disse ao povo: Estai prontos ao terceiro dia; e não vos chegueis a mulher.
16 And on the third day, it being morning, it happened: There were thunders and lightnings, and a heavy cloud on the mountain, and the sound of a ram's horn, very strong! And all the people in the camp trembled.
16 Ao amanhecer do terceiro dia, houve trovões, e relâmpagos, e uma espessa nuvem sobre o monte, e mui forte clangor de trombeta, de maneira que todo o povo que estava no arraial se estremeceu.
17 And Moses caused the people to go up from the camp to meet God. And they took their stand at the lower part of the mountain.
17 E Moisés levou o povo fora do arraial ao encontro de Deus; e puseram-se ao pé do monte.
18 And the mountain of Sinai was smoking, all of it, because Jehovah came down on it in fire. And its smoke went up like the smoke of a furnace; and the mountain quaked exceedingly.
18 Todo o monte Sinai fumegava, porque o Senhor descera sobre ele em fogo; a sua fumaça subiu como fumaça de uma fornalha, e todo o monte tremia grandemente.
19 And it happened while the sound of the ram's horn was sounding, and becoming very strong, Moses spoke. And God answered him by a voice.
19 E o clangor da trombeta ia aumentando cada vez mais; Moisés falava, e Deus lhe respondia no trovão.
20 And Jehovah came down on the mountain of Sinai, to the top of the mountain; and Jehovah called Moses to the top of the mountain, and Moses went up.
20 Descendo o Senhor para o cimo do monte Sinai, chamou o Senhor a Moisés para o cimo do monte. Moisés subiu,
21 And Jehovah said to Moses, Go down, warn the people lest they break through to gaze at Jehovah, and many of them fall.
21 e o Senhor disse a Moisés: Desce, adverte ao povo que não traspasse o limite até ao Senhor para vê-lo, a fim de muitos deles não perecerem.
22 And also the priests, those approaching Jehovah, let them sanctify themselves that Jehovah not burst forth among them.
22 Também os sacerdotes, que se chegam ao Senhor , se hão de consagrar, para que o Senhor não os fira.
23 And Moses said to Jehovah, The people are not able to come up to the mountain of Sinai. For You warned us, saying, Set limits to the mountain and sanctify it.
23 Então, disse Moisés ao Senhor : O povo não poderá subir ao monte Sinai, porque tu nos advertiste, dizendo: Marca limites ao redor do monte e consagra-o.
24 And Jehovah said to him, Come, go down. And you come up, and Aaron with you. And let not the priests and the people break through to come up to Jehovah, lest He burst forth among them.
24 Replicou-lhe o Senhor : Vai, desce; depois, subirás tu, e Arão contigo; os sacerdotes, porém, e o povo não traspassem o limite para subir ao Senhor , para que não os fira.
25 And Moses went down to the people and spoke to them.
25 Desceu, pois, Moisés ao povo e lhe disse tudo isso.
