LITV: Green's Literal Translation (SM_LITV) vs AAI
1 And being saved, then they knew that the island is called Melita.
1 Ataiy ana dones ayey men yait ta aboyouw, naatu nuw imaibo ai’inan, aki i ana Malta nuw ayen.
2 And the foreigners were showing not the common kindness to us, for having kindled a fire because of the rain coming on, and because of the cold, they welcomed us all.
2 Nuw sabuw merarayow gewasin maiyow hiti, ai merar hiyi wairaf hi’asir rari, anayabin toun i yarayar naatu tutuban ea’ani.
3 And Paul gathering a bunch of sticks, and putting them on the fire, a snake coming out from the heat fastened on his hand.
3 Paul ai heaf na wairaf wan yayara’aten, naatu kok wairaf wabuburin bai kayam tit, Paul uman yub fifin.
4 And when the foreigners saw the beast hanging from his hand, they said to one another, By all means this man is a murderer, whom being saved out of the sea, Justice did not permit to live.
4 Nuw sabuw Paul umanamaim kok fifin inu’in hi’itin basit taiyuwih hio, iti orot i uman rara. Riy yan yawasin taiy na yen, baise koubaitotorayan ana god men ekokok boro yawasin nama.
5 Then he indeed shaking the beast off into the fire, he suffered no harm.
5 Baise Paul uman ta’asiy kok wairaf wan yen earah naatu men abisa ta isan matar.
6 But they expected him to be about to become inflamed, or suddenly to fall down dead. But over much time , they expecting and seeing nothing amiss happening to him, changing their minds, they said him to be a god.
6 Sabuw hima hi’itin hinotanot i boro uman tadaw o an ta’uy tare tamorob. Baise manin maiyow hima hikakaif men abisa ta isan matar, imih hai not hibotabir hio, “Iti orot i god wari’en!”
7 And in the parts about that place were lands to the chief of the island, Publius by name. Welcoming us, he housed us three days in a friendly way.
7 Nati dones inan sisibin turin i orot wabin Publius ana bar merar. Publius i nati nuw hai orot gagamin. Ai merar yi, veya tounu ana nanawan na’atube bairi ama ituwi.
8 And it happened the father of Publius was lying down, suffering from fevers and dysentery; to whom Paul, entering and praying, laying on his hands, cured him.
8 Publius tamah sawow biyan ana fora’abin ra’at, naatu yan yub ana gem yan inu’in. Paul na ana bar run isan yoyoban, biyan butubun naatu yawas.
9 Then, this taking place, the rest who were having infirmities in the island also came up, and they were healed.
9 Sawar iti mamatar ana tur hinowar, sabuw iyab nati nuwamaim hisawow hi’inu’in hinan etei hiyawas.
10 They also honored us with many honors. And on our setting sail, they lay on us such things as were needed.
10 Naatu hai kakaf gagamin na’in aki hiti, wa afe’en ayey ana veya ai remor isan abisa akokok etei hibaisi.
11 And after three months we sailed in a ship which had wintered in the island, an Alexandrian with an ensign, Twin Brothers.
11 Sumar tounu ama’ama ufunamaim wa ta Alexandria’ane nan abai. Iti wa wabin, “God Kikifu” anayabin iti wa nanamaim i Kastor naatu Folux hairi hai yumat hikirum hi’inu’in. Rarab siba’u aki nati nuwamaim wa tafan ama in rarab siba’u sawar.
12 And landing at Syracuse, we remained three days.
12 Wa abai atit an tafaram wabin Sarakus imaim arun veya tounu imaim ama.
13 Going around from there, we arrived at Rhegium. And after one day, a south wind having come on, on the second we came to Puteoli,
13 Naatu nati’imaim atit anunuw ana Rhegium bar merar gagamin arun imaim a’in. Mar to waruw gurufune busuruf babin, naatu aki atit anunuw veya bairu’abin Puteoli arun.
14 where finding brothers, we were begged by them to remain seven days. And so we went toward Rome.
14 Nati’imaim baitumatumayah afa hima’am atitourih naatu hifefeyani bairi fur ta’imon ama. Imaibo aremor ana Rome atit.
15 And the brothers from there hearing about us, they came out to meet us, as far as the marketplace of Appius, and Three Taverns; whom Paul seeing, thanking God, he took courage.
15 Baitumatumayah Rome hima’am aki anan bigai hinowar basit hina Apius ahar ana efan hitit, naatu afa hina Nanawan Bar Tounu hibatabat imaim hi’iti ai merar hiyi, Paul iti sabuw i’itih ana veya God ana merar yi naatu i koufair gagamin maiyow bai.
16 And when we went into Rome, the centurion delivered the prisoners to the camp commander. But Paul was allowed to remain by himself, with the soldier guarding him.
16 Ana Rome atitit ana veya, Paul akisin ma isan ana baibasit hitin, naatu baiyowayah orot ta hiyai kaif hairi hima.
17 And after three days, it happened that Paul called together those being chief of the Jews. And they coming together, he said to them, Men, brothers, I did nothing contrary to the people, or to the ancestral customs. I was delivered a prisoner from Jerusalem into the hands of the Romans,
17 Veya tounu ufunamaim Jew orot ukwarih etei Paul eaf hiru’ay. Eaf hiruru’ay ana veya’amaim iuwih eo, “Taitu ayu i men kafa’imo ata sabuw isah asinaf kakaf, naatu uwatanah hai binanakwar abisa hibitit aigigimimih, baise Jerusalem imaim ayu hifatumu naatu hibuwu Rome gawan umanamaim hiya’u.
18 who examining me were of a mind to let me go, because no cause of death was in me.
18 Ayu ubar hitu bairi ao hinunutitiy au kakafin men ta hitita’ur boro ata morob, imih hikok boro hitabotaitu.
19 But the Jews speaking against it , I was compelled to appeal to Caesar, not as having anything to accuse my nation.
19 Baise Jew sabuw men hikok ayu hitabotaitu, imih ayu Caesar isan ai fefeyan. Iti asisinaf i men ata sabuw ubar baitih na’atube abiwa’an.
20 On account of this, then, I called for you, to see and to speak to you . For I have this chain around me for the sake of the hope of Israel.
20 Ana’an iti isan ayu kwa aifefeyan kwatan kwata’itu bairit tatao isan. Ayu hifatumu dibur ama’am anayabin i Israel sabuw orot nati biyanamaim nuhih fot tema’am isan.”
21 And they said to him, We neither received letters concerning you from the Jews, nor having arrived has any one of the brothers reported or spoken anything evil concerning you.
21 Hiya’afut hio, “Aki Judea’ane men fef ta o isa abaimih, na’atube taituwat nati’ine men o asinaf isan naatu abisa isisinaf kakaf ana tur men ta na eo anowar.
22 But we think it fitting to hear from you as to what you think, for truly as concerning this sect, it is known to us that it is spoken against everywhere.
22 Baise aki akokok o anot i ku’o anowar, anayabin efan ta ta etei sabuw iti o a kou’ay boubun isan hio tegamigam anonowar.”
23 And having appointed him a day, more came to him in the lodging, to whom he expounded, earnestly testifying the kingdom of God and persuading them the things concerning Jesus, both from the law of Moses and the Prophets, from morning until evening.
23 Basit Paul bairi veya hiyai naatu nati veya’amaim sabuw rou’ay gagamin na’in hiru’ay. Paul ma’am ana efanamaim. Mar auman Paul busuruf God ana aiwob isan kubuna naatu eorerereb etei hinowar. 24 And some indeed were persuaded by that being said, others disbelieved.
24 Sabuw afa abisa eo i hitumatum, baise sabuw afa i men hitumatum.
25 And disagreeing with one another, they were let go, Paul saying one word: Well did the Holy Spirit speak through the prophet Isaiah to our fathers,
25 Taiyuwih wanawanahimaim Paul ana tur yomanin eo isan hibusuruf hibibas ufunamaim himisir hitit hin. Paul eo, “Anun Kakafiyin i turobe uwatanah isah dinab orot Isaiah iwan eo,

26 ‘Kwen sabuw iti isah kuo,
27 for the heart of this people was fattened, and they have heard with the ears heavily; and they closed their eyes lest at any time they see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and be converted, and I should heal them." Isa. 6:9, 10
27 Anayabin nati sabuw fudirih i fokar.
28 Then let it be known to you that the salvation of God was sent to the nations, and they will hear. LXX-Psa. 66:3; MT-Psa. 67:2
28 Isan imih ayu akokok kwa kwanaso’ob, God ana yawas i Ufun Sabuw isah ebiyafar naatu i boro tur hinanowar!”
29 And he saying these things, the Jews went away, having much discussion among themselves.
29 Tur iti eo ufunamaim Jew hihamiy taiyuwih higam auman hin.
30 And Paul remained two whole years in his own rented place, and he welcomed all those coming in to him,
