Amós 9

1 I saw the Lord standing by the altar. And He said, Strike the capital of the door, and the thresholds will shake; and break them on the head of all of them. And I will kill the last of them with the sword. Not one of them who flees will flee, and not a fugitive of them will escape.
1 Vi o Senhor, que estava em pé junto ao altar. Ele me disse: “Bata nos capitéis das colunas, para que os umbrais comecem a tremer e os pedaços caiam sobre a cabeça de todos eles. Matarei à espada os que restarem. Nenhum deles fugirá, e nenhum escapará.
2 And if they dig through into Sheol, from there My hand will take them. And if they go up to the heavens, from there I will bring them down.
2 Ainda que cavem para chegar ao mais profundo abismo, a minha mão os tirará de lá. Se subirem ao céu, de lá os farei descer.
3 And if they hide themselves in the top of Carmel, I will search and take them out from there. And if they hide from My eyes in the bottom of the sea, from there I will command the serpent, and he will bite them.
3 Se eles se esconderem no alto do Carmelo, irei atrás deles e de lá os tirarei. E, caso se ocultarem dos meus olhos no fundo do mar, ali darei ordem à serpente, e ela os morderá.
4 And if they go into exile before their enemies, from there I will command the sword, and it will kill them. And I will set My eyes on them for evil, and not for good.
4 Se forem levados para o cativeiro pelos seus inimigos, ali darei ordem à espada, e ela os matará; porei os meus olhos sobre eles para o mal e não para o bem.”
5 And the Lord Jehovah of hosts is He who touches the earth so that it melts, and all dwelling in it shall mourn. And all of it will rise up like the Nile, and sink down like the Nile of Egypt.
5 Porque o Senhor, o é o que toca na terra, e ela se derrete, e todos os seus moradores estarão de luto. Toda a terra subirá como o Nilo e abaixará como o rio do Egito.
6 It is He who builds His staircase in the heavens, and He has founded His binding heavens on the earth; He who calls for the seawater and pours them out on the face of the earth, Jehovah is His name.
6 Deus é o que edifica as suas câmaras no céu e firmou a sua abóbada sobre a terra. Ele é o que chama as águas do mar e as derrama sobre a terra;
7 Are you not like the sons of the Ethiopians to Me, O sons of Israel? declares Jehovah. Have I not brought Israel up out of the land of Egypt, and the Philistines from Caphtor, and the Syrians from Kir?
7 “Filhos de Israel, não é verdade que vocês são para mim como os filhos dos etíopes?” — diz o “Não é fato que eu tirei Israel da terra do Egito, os filisteus de Caftor, e os sírios de Quir?
8 Behold, the eyes of the Lord Jehovah are on the sinful kingdom, and I will destroy it from the face of the earth; only that I will not completely destroy the house of Jacob, declares Jehovah.
8 Eis que os olhos do Senhor Deus estão contra este reino pecador, e eu o destruirei da face da terra. Mas não destruirei por completo a casa de Jacó”, diz o
9 For, behold, I will command, and I will shake the house of Israel among all the nations, as one shakes with a sieve; yet not a grain shall fall to the ground.
9 “Porque eis que darei ordens e sacudirei a casa de Israel entre todas as nações, assim como se sacode trigo na peneira, sem que um só grão caia na terra.
10 All the sinners of My people shall die by the sword, those who say, The evil shall not draw near or confront us.
10 Todos os pecadores do meu povo morrerão à espada, os que dizem: ‘O mal não nos alcançará nem nos encontrará.’”
11 In that day I will raise up the booth of David that has fallen, and I will wall up its breaks. And I will raise up its ruins, and I will build it as the days of old;
11 “Naquele dia, levantarei o tabernáculo caído de Davi. Vou reparar as suas brechas e levantá-lo das suas ruínas. Vou restaurá-lo, para que volte a ser como era nos dias da antiguidade,
12 so that they may possess the remnant of Edom, and all the nations on whom My name is called, declares Jehovah who is doing this.
12 para que o meu povo tome posse do restante de Edom e de todas as nações que são chamadas pelo meu nome”, diz o que faz estas coisas.
13 Behold, the days are coming, declares Jehovah, that the plowman shall overtake the reaper, and the treader of grapes him who draws along seed. And the mountains shall drop new must, and all the hills will be dissolved.
13 “Eis que vêm dias”, diz o “em que o que lavra virá logo após o que colhe, e o que pisa as uvas virá logo após o que lança semente. Os montes destilarão vinho, e todas as colinas se derreterão.
14 And I will again bring the captivity of My people Israel. And they shall build the waste cities, and live in them . And they shall plant vineyards, and drink the wine of them. They shall also make gardens, and eat the fruit of them.
14 Mudarei a sorte do meu povo de Israel. Eles reedificarão as cidades destruídas e nelas habitarão. Plantarão vinhas e beberão o seu vinho; farão pomares e comerão dos seus frutos.
15 And I will plant them on their land, and they shall never again be pulled up out of their land which I have given to them, says Jehovah your God.
15 Eu os plantarei na sua terra, e, dessa terra que lhes dei, nunca mais serão arrancados”, diz o
