1 In the eighth month, in the second year of Darius, the word of Yahweh came to the prophet Zechariah son of Berekiah, son of Iddo, saying,
1 No oitavo mês do segundo ano de Dario veio a palavra do SENHOR ao profeta Zacarias, filho de Baraquias, filho de Ido, dizendo:
2 “Yahweh ⌞was very angry with your ancestors⌟.
2 O Senhor se irou fortemente contra vossos pais.
3 You must say to them: ‘Thus says Yahweh of hosts: “Return to me,” ⌞declares⌟ Yahweh of hosts, “and I will return to you,” says Yahweh of hosts.
3 Portanto dize-lhes: Assim diz o Senhor dos Exércitos: Tornai-vos para mim, diz o Senhor dos Exércitos, e eu me tornarei para vós, diz o Senhor dos Exércitos.
4 “Do not be like your ancestors, to whom the former prophets proclaimed, saying, ‘Thus says Yahweh of hosts: “Return from your evil ways and your evil deeds!” ’ But they did not hear and they did not pay attention to me,” ⌞declares⌟ Yahweh.
4 E não sejais como vossos pais, aos quais clamavam os primeiros profetas, dizendo: Assim diz o Senhor dos Exércitos: Convertei-vos agora dos vossos maus caminhos e das vossas más obras; mas não ouviram, nem me escutaram, diz o Senhor.
5 “Your ancestors, where are they? And the prophets, do they live forever?
5 Vossos pais, onde estão? E os profetas, viverão eles para sempre?
6 However, did not my words and my regulations which I commanded my servants the prophets overtake your ancestors? And they repented and said, ‘Yahweh of hosts planned to do with us according to our ways, and according to our deeds so he has dealt with us.’ ” ’ ”
6 Contudo as minhas palavras e os meus estatutos, que eu ordenei aos profetas, meus servos, não alcançaram a vossos pais? E eles voltaram, e disseram: Assim como o Senhor dos Exércitos fez tenção de nos tratar, segundo os nossos caminhos, e segundo as nossas obras, assim ele nos tratou.
7 On the twenty-fourth day of the eleventh month, the month of Shebat, in the second year of Darius, the word of Yahweh came to Zechariah the prophet, son of Berekiah, son of Iddo, saying,
7 Aos vinte e quatro dias do mês undécimo (que é o mês de Sebate), no segundo ano de Dario, veio a palavra do Senhor ao profeta Zacarias, filho de Baraquias, filho de Ido, dizendo:
8 ⌞I had a vision in the night⌟, and look, a man riding on a red horse. And he was standing between the myrtle shrubs that were in the ravine, and behind him were red, reddish-brown, and white horses.
8 Olhei de noite, e vi um homem montado num cavalo vermelho; e ele estava parado entre as murtas que estavam na baixada; e atrás dele estavam cavalos vermelhos, malhados e brancos.
9 And I asked, “What are these, my lord?” And the angel who was talking with me said, “I will show you what these are.”
9 E eu disse: Senhor meu, quem são estes? E disse-me o anjo que falava comigo: Eu te mostrarei quem são estes.
10 And the man standing between the myrtle shrubs answered and said, “These are those whom Yahweh has sent to patrol the earth.”
10 Então respondeu o homem que estava entre as murtas, e disse: Estes são os que o Senhor tem enviado para percorrerem a terra.
11 And they answered the angel of Yahweh who was standing between the myrtle shrubs, and they said, “We have patrolled the earth, and look, all the earth ⌞is dwelling in peace⌟.”
11 E eles responderam ao anjo do Senhor, que estava entre as murtas, e disseram: Nós já percorremos a terra, e eis que toda a terra está tranqüila e quieta.
12 The angel of Yahweh answered and said, “O Yahweh of hosts, ⌞how long⌟ will you have no compassion on Jerusalem and the cities of Judah, with which you showed fury these seventy years?”
12 Então o anjo do Senhor respondeu, e disse: Ó Senhor dos Exércitos, até quando não terás compaixão de Jerusalém, e das cidades de Judá, contra as quais estiveste irado estes setenta anos?
13 With gracious and comforting words Yahweh answered the angel who was talking with me.
13 E respondeu o Senhor ao anjo, que falava comigo, com palavras boas, palavras consoladoras.
14 And the angel who was talking with me said to me, “Proclaim, saying, ‘Thus says Yahweh of hosts: “⌞I am very jealous⌟ for Jerusalem and for Zion!
14 E o anjo que falava comigo disse-me: Clama, dizendo: Assim diz o Senhor dos Exércitos: Com grande zelo estou zelando por Jerusalém e por Sião.
15 And ⌞I am extremely angry⌟ with the nations that are at ease, for while I was a little angry, they ⌞furthered disaster⌟.”
15 E com grande indignação estou irado contra os gentios em descanso; porque eu estava pouco indignado, mas eles agravaram o mal.
16 Therefore, thus says Yahweh: “I have returned to Jerusalem with compassion. My temple will be built in it,” ⌞declares⌟ Yahweh of hosts, “and a measuring line will be stretched out over Jerusalem.” ’
16 Portanto, assim diz o Senhor: Voltei-me para Jerusalém com misericórdia; nela será edificada a minha casa, diz o Senhor dos Exércitos, e o cordel será estendido sobre Jerusalém:
17 Proclaim again, saying, ‘Thus says Yahweh of hosts: “My cities shall again overflow from prosperity, and Yahweh will comfort Zion again, and he will choose Jerusalem again.” ’ ”
17 Clama outra vez, dizendo: Assim diz o Senhor dos Exércitos: As minhas cidades ainda aumentarão e prosperarão; porque o Senhor ainda consolará a Sião e ainda escolherá a Jerusalém.
18 And I ⌞looked up⌟ and I saw, and look, there were four horns!
18 E levantei os meus olhos, e vi, e eis quatro chifres.
19 And I said to the angel who was talking with me, “What are these?” And he said to me, “These are the horns that have scattered Judah, Israel, and Jerusalem.”
19 E eu disse ao anjo que falava comigo: Que são estes? E ele me disse: Estes são os chifres que dispersaram a Judá, a Israel e a Jerusalém.
20 Then Yahweh showed me four skilled craftsmen,
20 E o Senhor me mostrou quatro carpinteiros.
21 and I asked, “What are these coming to do?” And he answered, saying, “These are the horns that scattered Judah, ⌞so that no man⌟ lifted up his head; but these have come to frighten them, to strike down the horns of the nations that lifted a horn against the land of Judah to scatter it.”
21 Então eu disse: Que vêm estes fazer? E ele falou, dizendo: Estes são os chifres que dispersaram a Judá, de maneira que ninguém pôde levantar a sua cabeça; estes, pois, vieram para os amedrontarem, para derrubarem os chifres dos gentios que levantaram o seu poder contra a terra de Judá, para a espalharem.
