1 A psalm of Asaph. A song. We give thanks to you, O God; we give thanks, and your name is near. Your wonderful deeds are told.
1 Graças te rendemos, ó Deus; graças te rendemos, e invocamos o teu nome, e declaramos as tuas maravilhas.
2 “I will indeed set an appointed time; I will judge fairly.
2 Pois disseste: Hei de aproveitar o tempo determinado; hei de julgar retamente.
3 The earth and all its inhabitants are shaking; I steady its columns. Selah
3 Vacilem a terra e todos os seus moradores, ainda assim eu firmarei as suas colunas.
4 I say to the boastful, ‘Do not boast!’ and to the wicked, ‘Do not lift up your horn!
4 Digo aos soberbos: não sejais arrogantes; e aos ímpios: não levanteis a vossa força.
5 Do not lift up high your horn. Do not speak with ⌞arrogant pride⌟.’ ”
5 Não levanteis altivamente a vossa força, nem faleis com insolência contra a Rocha.
6 For it is not from the east or the west and not from the south that lifting up comes,
6 Porque não é do Oriente, não é do Ocidente, nem do deserto que vem o auxílio.
7 rather God is the judge; one he brings low, and another he lifts up.
7 Deus é o juiz; a um abate, a outro exalta.
8 For there is a cup in the hand of Yahweh with wine that foams, fully mixed, and he pours out from this. Surely all the wicked of the land ⌞will quaff it down to its dregs⌟.
8 Porque na mão do Senhor há um cálice cujo vinho espuma, cheio de mistura; dele dá a beber; sorvem-no, até às escórias, todos os ímpios da terra.
9 But as for me, I will proclaim forever; I will sing praise to the God of Jacob.
9 Quanto a mim, exultarei para sempre; salmodiarei louvores ao Deus de Jacó.
10 “And all the horns of the wicked I will cut off. The horns of the righteous will be lifted up.”
10 Abaterei as forças dos ímpios; mas a força dos justos será exaltada.
