1 A psalm of Asaph. A song. We give thanks to you, O God; we give thanks, and your name is near. Your wonderful deeds are told.
1 Damos-te graças, ó Deus, damos-te graças, pois o teu nome está perto; os que invocam o teu nome anunciam as tuas maravilhas.
2 “I will indeed set an appointed time; I will judge fairly.
2 Quando chegar o tempo determinado, julgarei retamente.
3 The earth and all its inhabitants are shaking; I steady its columns. Selah
3 Dissolve-se a terra e todos os seus moradores, mas eu lhe fortaleci as colunas.
4 I say to the boastful, ‘Do not boast!’ and to the wicked, ‘Do not lift up your horn!
4 Digo eu aos arrogantes: Não sejais arrogantes; e aos ímpios: Não levanteis a fronte;
5 Do not lift up high your horn. Do not speak with ⌞arrogant pride⌟.’ ”
5 não levanteis ao alto a vossa fronte, nem faleis com arrogância.
6 For it is not from the east or the west and not from the south that lifting up comes,
6 Porque nem do oriente, nem do ocidente, nem do deserto vem a exaltação.
7 rather God is the judge; one he brings low, and another he lifts up.
7 Mas Deus é o que julga; a um abate, e a outro exalta.
8 For there is a cup in the hand of Yahweh with wine that foams, fully mixed, and he pours out from this. Surely all the wicked of the land ⌞will quaff it down to its dregs⌟.
8 Porque na mão do Senhor há um cálice, cujo vinho espuma, cheio de mistura, do qual ele dá a beber; certamente todos os ímpios da terra sorverão e beberão as suas fezes.
9 But as for me, I will proclaim forever; I will sing praise to the God of Jacob.
9 Mas, quanto a mim, exultarei para sempre, cantarei louvores ao Deus de Jacó.
10 “And all the horns of the wicked I will cut off. The horns of the righteous will be lifted up.”
10 E quebrantarei todas as forças dos ímpios, mas as forças dos justos serão exaltadas.
