1 Then Yahweh said to Moses, “Speak to the priests, Aaron’s sons, and say to them, ‘One must not make himself unclean for a dead person among his own people,
1 Disse ainda o Senhor a Moisés: "Diga o seguinte aos sacerdotes, os filhos de Arão: Um sacerdote não poderá tornar-se impuro por causa de alguém do seu povo que venha a morrer,
2 except for his direct relative closest to him: his mother and his father, and his son and his daughter, and his brother,
2 a não ser por um parente próximo, como mãe ou pai, filho ou filha, irmão,
3 and for his sister, a virgin, who is closest to him, ⌞who has not had a husband⌟—for her he may defile himself.
3 ou irmã virgem dependente dele por ainda não ter marido; por causa dela, poderá tornar-se impuro.
4 He must not make himself unclean as ⌞a kinsman by marriage⌟, defiling himself.
4 Não poderá tornar-se impuro e contaminar-se por causa de parentes por casamento.
5 “ ‘And they shall not shave bald patches on their head, and they shall not shave off the corner of their beard, and they shall not make a cut in their body.
5 "Os sacerdotes não raparão a cabeça, nem apararão as pontas da barba, nem farão cortes no corpo.
6 They shall be holy to their God, and they shall not profane the name of their God, because they are bringing near the offerings made by fire to Yahweh—their God’s food—and they shall be holy.
6 Serão santos ao seu Deus, e não profanarão o nome do seu Deus. Pelo fato de apresentarem ao Senhor as ofertas preparadas no fogo, ofertas de alimento do seu Deus, serão santos.
7 “ ‘They shall not ⌞marry⌟ a woman who is a prostitute and defiled, nor shall they ⌞marry⌟ a woman divorced from her husband, because each priest is holy for his God.
7 "Não poderão tomar por mulher uma prostituta, uma moça que tenha perdido a virgindade, ou uma mulher divorciada do seu marido, porque o sacerdote é santo ao seu Deus.
8 And you shall consecrate him, because he is bringing near your God’s food; he shall be holy to you, since I, Yahweh, who consecrates you, am holy.
8 Considerem-no santo, porque ele oferece o alimento do seu Deus. Considerem-no santo, porque eu, o Senhor, que os santifico, sou santo.
9 “ ‘As for the daughter of any priest, if she is defiled by prostituting, she is disgracing her father—she shall be burned in the fire.
9 "Se a filha de um sacerdote se corromper, tornando-se prostituta, desonra seu pai; será queimada com fogo.
10 “ ‘As for the priest who is higher than his brothers, on whose head the oil of anointment is poured and ⌞he was ordained⌟ to wear the garments, he shall not dishevel his head, and he shall not tear his garments.
10 "O sumo sacerdote, aquele entre seus irmãos sobre cuja cabeça tiver sido derramado o óleo da unção, e que tiver sido consagrado para usar as vestes sacerdotais, não andará descabelado, nem rasgará as roupas em sinal de luto.
11 And he shall not go near any dead person, nor shall he make himself unclean for his father or for his mother.
11 Não entrará onde houver um cadáver. Não se tornará impuro, nem mesmo por causa do seu pai ou da sua mãe;
12 And he shall not go out from the sanctuary, and he shall not profane his God’s sanctuary, because the dedication of his God’s oil of anointment is on him; I am Yahweh.
12 e não deixará o santuário do seu Deus, nem o profanará, porquanto foi consagrado pelo óleo da unção do seu Deus. Eu sou o Senhor.
13 “ ‘And he himself must take a wife in her virginity.
13 "A mulher que ele tomar terá que ser virgem.
14 A widow or a divorced woman or a defiled woman, a prostitute—these he must not take; he shall take only a virgin from his people as wife.
14 Não poderá ser viúva, nem divorciada, nem moça que perdeu a virgindade, nem prostituta, mas terá que ser uma virgem do seu próprio povo,
15 And he shall not profane his offspring among his people, because I am Yahweh, who consecrates him.’ ”
15 assim ele não profanará a sua descendência entre o seu povo. Eu sou o Senhor, que o santifico".
16 Then Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying,
16 Disse ainda o Senhor a Moisés:
17 “Speak to Aaron, saying, ‘A man from your offspring throughout their generations, in whom is a physical defect, shall not come near to present your God’s food.
17 "Diga a Arão: Pelas suas gerações, nenhum dos seus descendentes que tenha algum defeito poderá aproximar-se para trazer ao seu Deus ofertas de alimento.
18 Indeed, any man in whom is a physical defect shall not come near: a blind man or lame or disfigured or deformed,
18 Nenhum homem que tenha algum defeito poderá aproximar-se: ninguém que seja cego ou aleijado, que tenha o rosto defeituoso ou o corpo deformado;
19 or a man in whom is a broken foot or a broken hand,
19 ninguém que tenha o pé ou a mão defeituosos,
20 or a hunchback or a dwarf, or a spot in his eye or a skin disorder or a skin eruption or a crushed testicle.
20 ou que seja corcunda ou anão, ou que tenha qualquer defeito na vista, ou que esteja com feridas purulentas ou com fluxo, ou que tenha testículos defeituosos.
21 Any man from Aaron the priest’s offspring in whom is a physical defect shall not come near to present offerings made by fire to Yahweh; a physical defect is in him; he shall not come near to present his God’s food.
21 Nenhum descendente do sacerdote Arão que tenha qualquer defeito poderá aproximar-se para apresentar ao Senhor ofertas preparadas no fogo. Tem defeito; não poderá aproximar-se para trazê-las ao seu Deus.
22 He may eat his God’s food, from ⌞the most holy things⌟ and from the holy things.
22 Poderá comer o alimento santíssimo de seu Deus, e também o alimento santo;
23 But he must not enter the curtain, and he must not come near to the altar, because a physical defect is in him, and he must not profane my sanctuary, because I am Yahweh, who consecrates them.’ ”
23 contudo, por causa do seu defeito, não se aproximará do véu nem do altar, para que não profane o meu santuário. Eu sou o Senhor, que os santifico".
24 Thus Moses spoke to Aaron and to his sons and to all the ⌞Israelites⌟.
24 Foi isso que Moisés falou a Arão e a seus filhos e a todos os israelitas.
