1 Then Yahweh said to Moses, “Speak to the priests, Aaron’s sons, and say to them, ‘One must not make himself unclean for a dead person among his own people,
1 O Senhor Deus mandou Moisés dizer o seguinte aos sacerdotes, que são descendentes de Arão: — Que nenhum sacerdote fique
2 except for his direct relative closest to him: his mother and his father, and his son and his daughter, and his brother,
2 a não ser no caso de parentes chegados, isto é, a mãe, o pai, o filho, a filha, o irmão
3 and for his sister, a virgin, who is closest to him, ⌞who has not had a husband⌟—for her he may defile himself.
3 ou a irmã solteira que more com ele.
4 He must not make himself unclean as ⌞a kinsman by marriage⌟, defiling himself.
4 Que ele não fique impuro por causa da morte de uma irmã casada.
5 “ ‘And they shall not shave bald patches on their head, and they shall not shave off the corner of their beard, and they shall not make a cut in their body.
5 — Os sacerdotes não podem rapar a cabeça, aparar a barba ou cortar-se em sinal de luto.
6 They shall be holy to their God, and they shall not profane the name of their God, because they are bringing near the offerings made by fire to Yahweh—their God’s food—and they shall be holy.
6 Eles serão completamente fiéis ao seu Deus e não deverão profanar o nome de Deus. Eles apresentam os sacrifícios que são ofertas de alimento para Deus, o Senhor ; portanto, devem ser fiéis a Deus.
7 “ ‘They shall not ⌞marry⌟ a woman who is a prostitute and defiled, nor shall they ⌞marry⌟ a woman divorced from her husband, because each priest is holy for his God.
7 Eles são separados para o serviço de Deus e por isso não podem casar com uma prostituta ou com uma mulher que não seja virgem ou com uma mulher divorciada.
8 And you shall consecrate him, because he is bringing near your God’s food; he shall be holy to you, since I, Yahweh, who consecrates you, am holy.
8 O sacerdote apresenta a Deus as ofertas de alimento, e por isso o povo deve considerá-lo santo. Eu, o Senhor , sou santo e escolhi o povo de Israel para que seja santo .
9 “ ‘As for the daughter of any priest, if she is defiled by prostituting, she is disgracing her father—she shall be burned in the fire.
9 — Se a filha de um sacerdote se desonrar, virando prostituta, ela estará envergonhando o pai e deverá ser queimada viva.
10 “ ‘As for the priest who is higher than his brothers, on whose head the oil of anointment is poured and ⌞he was ordained⌟ to wear the garments, he shall not dishevel his head, and he shall not tear his garments.
10 — O Grande Sacerdote foi ordenado como sacerdote quando o azeite sagrado foi derramado na sua cabeça e quando vestiu as roupas sacerdotais; por isso ele não deve deixar de pentear os cabelos e não deve rasgar as roupas em sinal de luto.
11 And he shall not go near any dead person, nor shall he make himself unclean for his father or for his mother.
11 Ele não pode tocar num morto, mesmo que seja o seu pai ou a sua mãe. Isso o tornaria impuro,
12 And he shall not go out from the sanctuary, and he shall not profane his God’s sanctuary, because the dedication of his God’s oil of anointment is on him; I am Yahweh.
12 e, quando entrasse de novo na Tenda Sagrada , ele a tornaria impura. Eu sou o Senhor .
13 “ ‘And he himself must take a wife in her virginity.
13 O Grande Sacerdote só poderá casar com uma virgem;
14 A widow or a divorced woman or a defiled woman, a prostitute—these he must not take; he shall take only a virgin from his people as wife.
14 ele não pode casar com uma viúva, ou uma mulher divorciada, ou uma prostituta, ou qualquer outra mulher que não seja virgem. Ele pode casar somente com uma virgem israelita
15 And he shall not profane his offspring among his people, because I am Yahweh, who consecrates him.’ ”
15 a fim de que os seus descendentes sejam puros . Eu sou o Senhor , e eu o ordenei como sacerdote.
16 Then Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying,
16 O Senhor Deus disse a Moisés o seguinte:
17 “Speak to Aaron, saying, ‘A man from your offspring throughout their generations, in whom is a physical defect, shall not come near to present your God’s food.
17 — Diga a Arão que nenhum descendente dele que tiver algum defeito físico poderá me apresentar as ofertas de alimento. Essa lei valerá para sempre.
18 Indeed, any man in whom is a physical defect shall not come near: a blind man or lame or disfigured or deformed,
18 Nenhum homem com defeito físico poderá apresentar as ofertas: seja cego, aleijado, com defeito no rosto ou com o corpo deformado;
19 or a man in whom is a broken foot or a broken hand,
19 ninguém com uma perna ou braço quebrado;
20 or a hunchback or a dwarf, or a spot in his eye or a skin disorder or a skin eruption or a crushed testicle.
20 ninguém que seja corcunda ou anão; ninguém que tenha doença nos olhos ou que tenha sarna ou outra doença da pele; e ninguém que seja castrado.
21 Any man from Aaron the priest’s offspring in whom is a physical defect shall not come near to present offerings made by fire to Yahweh; a physical defect is in him; he shall not come near to present his God’s food.
21 Nenhum descendente do sacerdote Arão que tiver algum defeito poderá me apresentar as ofertas de alimento; se ele for defeituoso, estará proibido de oferecer o meu alimento.
22 He may eat his God’s food, from ⌞the most holy things⌟ and from the holy things.
22 Esse homem poderá comer dessas ofertas, tanto as que são sagradas como as que são muito sagradas;
23 But he must not enter the curtain, and he must not come near to the altar, because a physical defect is in him, and he must not profane my sanctuary, because I am Yahweh, who consecrates them.’ ”
23 mas ele não poderá chegar perto da cortina do Lugar Santíssimo , nem chegar perto do altar, pois tem um defeito e tornaria impuras essas duas coisas. Eu sou o Senhor , e eu as dediquei a mim.
24 Thus Moses spoke to Aaron and to his sons and to all the ⌞Israelites⌟.
24 Foi isso o que Moisés disse a Arão, aos filhos de Arão e a todo o povo de Israel.
