1 Flee for safety, O children of Benjamin, from the midst of Jerusalem. And in Tekoa blow a horn, and on Beth-haccherem lift up a signal, for evil looks down from the north, and a great destruction.
1 Ó vós filhos de Benjamim, reuni-vos para fugir do meio de Jerusalém, e soprai a trombeta em Tecoa, e erguei um sinal de fogo em Bete-Haquerém, pois do norte surge o mal e grande destruição.
2 The lovely and the delicate, the daughter of Jerusalem, I will destroy.
2 Eu assemelhei a filha de Sião a uma mulher graciosa e delicada.
3 Shepherds and their flocks will come against her, they will pitch their tents against her all around, they will pasture, each his ⌞portion⌟.
3 Os pastores com os seus rebanhos virão até ela. Eles armarão as suas tendas contra ela ao seu redor, eles apascentarão cada um em seu lugar.
4 ⌞Sanctify⌟ war against her. Arise, and let us attack at noon. Woe to us, for the day turns, for the shadows of evening are lengthened.
4 Preparai a guerra contra ela. Erguei-vos e permiti-nos subir ao meio-dia. Ai de nós! Pois o dia declina, pois as sombras do entardecer se estendem.
5 Arise, and let us attack by night, and let us destroy her citadel fortresses.”
5 Erguei-vos e permiti-nos ir à noite e permiti-nos destruir os seus palácios.
6 For thus says Yahweh of hosts, “Cut down trees and heap up a siege ramp against Jerusalem. This is the city that must be punished, its oppression is in its midst.
6 Pois assim disse o SENHOR dos Exércitos: Cortai as árvores e levantai uma trincheira contra Jerusalém. Esta é a cidade a ser visitada. No meio dela, só há opressão.
7 As a water well keeps its water cool, so she keeps cool her wickedness. Violence and destruction are heard within her, sickness and wounds are continually ⌞before me⌟.
7 Como uma fonte expele águas, assim ela expele sua perversidade. Violência e despojo se ouvem nela, perante mim continuamente há tristeza e feridas.
8 Be warned, O Jerusalem, lest I turn away from you in disgust, lest I make you a desolation, a land that is not inhabited.”
8 Sê tu instruída, ó Jerusalém, para que a minha alma não se afaste de ti, para que eu não te torne em desolação, uma terra não habitada.
9 Thus says Yahweh of hosts: “They will thoroughly glean the remnant of Israel as a vine, turn back your hand over the branches like a grape-gatherer.
9 Assim diz o SENHOR dos Exércitos: Eles irão colher inteiramente o remanescente de Israel como uma vinha. Volta a tua mão como um colhedor de uvas para dentro dos cestos.
10 To whom shall I speak and admonish, that they may hear? Look, their ears are ⌞closed⌟, and they are not able to listen attentively. Look, the word of Yahweh is to them an object of scorn, they do not delight in it.
10 A quem falarei e advertirei, para que eles possam ouvir? Eis que o seu ouvido é incircunciso, e eles não podem ouvir. Eis que a palavra do SENHOR é para eles uma desonra, eles não se deleitam nela.
11 But I am full with the wrath of Yahweh, I struggle to hold it in. Pour it out on the children in the street, and on the assemblies of young men at the same time. For even husband with wife will get trapped, the old with him who is full of days.
11 Portanto eu estou repleto da fúria do SENHOR; estou cansado de a conter. Eu irei derramá-la sobre os filhos que estão fora de suas casas, e nas reuniões dos jovens. Pois até o marido com a esposa serão tomados, o idoso com aquele que está cheio de dias.
12 And their houses will be turned over to others, their fields and their wives together. For I will stretch out my hand against the inhabitants of the land,” ⌞declares⌟ Yahweh.
12 E as suas casas serão revertidas para outros juntamente com seus campos e esposas, pois eu estenderei a minha mão sobre os habitantes da terra, diz o SENHOR.
13 “For from the smallest of them to the greatest of them, ⌞everyone⌟ makes profit for unlawful gain. And from the prophet to the priest, ⌞everyone⌟ practices deceit.
13 Porquanto, desde o menor até o maior deles cada um é dado à ganância e desde o profeta até o sacerdote cada um comporta-se falsamente.
14 And they have treated the wound of my people lightly, ⌞saying⌟, ‘Peace, peace,’ but there is no peace.
14 Eles também curam a ferida da filha do meu povo superficialmente, dizendo: Paz, paz, quando não há paz.
15 Have they acted ashamed, for they have committed a detestable thing? Not at all, nor were they ashamed; they did not know to feel humiliated. ⌞Therefore⌟ they will fall among those who fall at the time I punish them, they will stumble,” says Yahweh.
15 Ficaram pois envergonhados quando cometeram abominação? Eles não se envergonharam de modo algum, nem foram capazes de se ruborizar. Portanto eles cairão no meio dos que caem. No momento em que eu os visitar, eles serão desmoralizados, diz o SENHOR.
16 Thus says Yahweh: “Stand at the roads and look, and ask for the ancient paths, where the way of the good is, and walk in it, and find rest for your inner selves. But they said, ‘We will not walk in it.’
16 Assim diz o SENHOR: Permanecei-vos nos caminhos, e vede, e perguntai pelas veredas antigas, onde está o bom caminho, e andai nele, e encontrareis repouso para as vossas almas. Mas eles disseram: Nós não andaremos neles.
17 And I raised up watchmen over you: ‘Listen attentively to the sound of a horn.’ But they said, ‘We will not listen attentively.’
17 Também eu coloquei sentinelas sobre vós, dizendo: Escutai ao som da trombeta. Porém elas disseram: Nós não escutaremos.
18 ⌞Therefore⌟ hear, O nations, and know, O community, ⌞what will happen to them⌟.
18 Portanto ouvi, vós nações, e sabei, ó congregação, o que está entre eles.
19 Hear, O earth, look, I am about to bring disaster to this people, the fruit of their plans, because they have not listened attentively to my words, and my teaching, they have rejected it also.
19 Ouve, ó terra. Observa, eu trarei o mal sobre este povo, exatamente o fruto dos seus pensamentos, porque eles não escutaram as minhas palavras, nem a minha lei, porém a rejeitaram.
20 What is this to me? Frankincense comes from Sheba, and the precious spice reed from a distant land. Your burnt offerings are not ⌞acceptable⌟, your sacrifices are not pleasing to me.”
20 Para qual propósito me vem o incenso de Sabá e o cálamo aromático de uma região distante? Vossas ofertas queimadas não são aceitáveis, nem os vossos sacrifícios agradáveis a mim.
21 ⌞Therefore⌟ thus says Yahweh: “Look, I am about to put before this people stumbling blocks, and they will stumble against them, fathers and children together, neighbor and his friend will perish.”
21 Portanto assim diz o SENHOR: Eis que eu colocarei obstáculos perante este povo, e os pais e os filhos juntamente cairão sobre eles. O vizinho e o seu amigo perecerão.
22 Thus says Yahweh: “Look, a people is coming from the land of the north, a great nation is woken up from the farthest part of the earth.
22 Assim diz o SENHOR: Eis que um povo de uma região situada ao norte, e uma grande nação será levantada dos confins da terra.
23 The bow and the short sword they grasp are cruel, and they show no mercy. Their sound roars like the sea, and on horses they ride, drawn up like a man for battle against you, O daughter of Zion.”
23 Eles devem segurar o arco e lança. Eles são cruéis e não têm misericórdia. A sua voz ruge como o mar, e eles montam sobre cavalos, dispõem-se em formação como homens para guerrear contra ti, ó filha de Sião.
24 We have heard news of it, our hands grow slack, anxiety has grasped us, pain as a woman who gives birth.
24 Ouvimos a sua fama, nossas mãos tornam-se frágeis, a angústia se apoderou de nós, e dor, como de uma mulher em trabalho de parto.
25 You must not go out into the field, and you must not walk on the road, for ⌞the enemy has a sword⌟, terror is all around.
25 Não saias ao campo, nem andeis pelo caminho, pois a espada do inimigo e medo há por todos os lados.
26 O daughter of my people, gird yourself with sackcloth, and roll about in the ashes in mourning, a mourning ceremony as for an only child. Make for yourself wailing of bitterness, for suddenly the destroyer will come upon us.
26 Ó filha do meu povo, cinge-te de pano de saco, e revolve-te em cinzas. Faze-te pranto, da mesma maneira que por um filho único, a mais amarga lamentação, pois o saqueador virá de repente sobre nós.
27 “I have made you an assayer among my people, a fortification, so that you may know and put to the test their ways.
27 Eu tenho te colocado por uma torre e uma fortificação no meio do meu povo, para que tu possas saber e testar os seus caminhos.
28 All of them are stubborn rebels, going about talking slander. They are bronze and iron, they are all behaving corruptly.
28 Todos eles são os mais rebeldes, e andam com difamadores. Eles são bronze e ferro; eles são todos corruptores.
29 The bellows are burned up, lead is consumed by fire. ⌞In vain⌟ ⌞he keeps on refining⌟, but the wicked are not torn apart.
29 O fole está queimado, o chumbo foi consumido pelo fogo. O fundidor derrete em vão, pois os perversos não são arrancados.
30 ⌞They are called⌟ rejected silver, For Yahweh has rejected them.”
30 Prata reprovada os homens os chamarão, porque o SENHOR os rejeitou.
