Jeremias 25

1 The word that came to Jeremiah concerning all the people of Judah in the fourth year of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah, the king of Judah, that was the first year of Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon,
1 Palavra que veio a Jeremias acerca de todo o povo de Judá, no ano quarto de Jeoaquim, filho de Josias, rei de Judá, ano que era o primeiro de Nabucodonosor, rei da Babilônia,
2 which Jeremiah the prophet spoke to all the people of Judah and to all the inhabitants of Jerusalem, ⌞saying⌟,
2 a qual anunciou Jeremias, o profeta, a todo o povo de Judá e a todos os habitantes de Jerusalém, dizendo:
3 “From the thirteenth year of Josiah, the son of Amon, the king of Judah, even up to this day, these twenty-three years the word of Yahweh has come to me, and ⌞I have spoken to you over and over again⌟, but you have not listened.
3 Durante vinte e três anos, desde o décimo terceiro de Josias, filho de Amom, rei de Judá, até hoje, tem vindo a mim a palavra do Senhor , e, começando de madrugada, eu vo-la tenho anunciado; mas vós não escutastes.
4 And though Yahweh has sent all his servants the prophets to you ⌞over and over again⌟ you have not listened, and you have not inclined your ear to hear,
4 Também, começando de madrugada, vos enviou o Senhor todos os seus servos, os profetas, mas vós não os escutastes, nem inclinastes os ouvidos para ouvir,
5 ⌞saying⌟, ‘Turn back please, each one from his evil way, and from the evil of your deeds, and live on the land that Yahweh has given to you and to your ancestors from a long time back and until forever,
5 quando diziam: Convertei-vos agora, cada um do seu mau caminho e da maldade das suas ações, e habitai na terra que o Senhor vos deu e a vossos pais, desde os tempos antigos e para sempre.
6 and you must not go after other gods to serve them, and to bow in worship to them, and you must not provoke me to anger with the work of your hands, then I will not do something bad to you.’
6 Não andeis após outros deuses para os servirdes e para os adorardes, nem me provoqueis à ira com as obras de vossas mãos; não vos farei mal algum.
7 ‘Yet you have not listened to me,’ ⌞declares⌟ Yahweh, ‘so that you have provoked me to anger with the work of your hands for your own harm.’
7 Todavia, não me destes ouvidos, diz o Senhor , mas me provocastes à ira com as obras de vossas mãos, para o vosso próprio mal.
8 ⌞Therefore⌟ thus says Yahweh of hosts, ‘Because you have not obeyed my words,
8 Portanto, assim diz o Senhor dos Exércitos: Visto que não escutastes as minhas palavras,
9 look, I am going to send and take all the clans of the north,’ ⌞declares⌟ Yahweh, ‘and I will send to Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon, my servant, and I will bring them against this land, and against its inhabitants, and against all these nations all around, and I will destroy them, and I will make them a horror, and an object of hissing, and ⌞everlasting ruins⌟.
9 eis que mandarei buscar todas as tribos do Norte, diz o Senhor , como também a Nabucodonosor, rei da Babilônia, meu servo, e os trarei contra esta terra, contra os seus moradores e contra todas estas nações em redor, e os destruirei totalmente, e os porei por objeto de espanto, e de assobio, e de ruínas perpétuas.
10 And I will exterminate from them the sound of jubilation, and the sound of joy, the voice of the bridegroom, and the voice of the bride, the sound of the millstones, and the light of the lamp.
10 Farei cessar entre eles a voz de folguedo e a de alegria, e a voz do noivo, e a da noiva, e o som das mós, e a luz do candeeiro.
11 And all this land will become a site of ruins, a desolation, and these nations will serve the king of Babylon seventy years.
11 Toda esta terra virá a ser um deserto e um espanto; estas nações servirão ao rei da Babilônia setenta anos.
12 ⌞And then⌟ when the seventy years are fulfilled, I will punish the king of Babylon and that nation,’ ⌞declares⌟ Yahweh, ‘for their iniquity, and the land of the Chaldeans, and I will make it ⌞an everlasting waste⌟.
12 Acontecerá, porém, que, quando se cumprirem os setenta anos, castigarei a iniquidade do rei da Babilônia e a desta nação, diz o Senhor , como também a da terra dos caldeus; farei deles ruínas perpétuas.
13 And I will bring upon that land all my words that I have spoken against it, everything that is written in this scroll which Jeremiah prophesied against all the nations.
13 Farei que se cumpram sobre aquela terra todas as minhas ameaças que proferi contra ela, tudo quanto está escrito neste livro, que profetizou Jeremias contra todas as nações.
14 For many nations and great kings will let them work, even them, and I will repay them according to their deeds, and according to the work of their hands.’ ”
14 Porque também eles serão escravos de muitas nações e de grandes reis; assim, lhes retribuirei segundo os seus feitos e segundo as obras das suas mãos.
15 For thus said Yahweh, the God of Israel, to me, “Take this cup of the wine of wrath from my hand, and you must give it to all the nations to whom I am sending you to drink.
15 Porque assim me disse o Senhor , o Deus de Israel: Toma da minha mão este cálice do vinho do meu furor e darás a beber dele a todas as nações às quais eu te enviar.
16 And they will drink, and they will stagger, and they will act like madmen because of the ⌞presence⌟ of the sword that I am sending among them.”
16 Para que bebam, e tremam, e enlouqueçam, por causa da espada que eu enviarei para o meio delas.
17 So I took the cup from the hand of Yahweh and I gave it to all the nations to whom Yahweh sent me to drink:
17 Recebi o cálice da mão do Senhor e dei a beber a todas as nações às quais o Senhor me tinha enviado:
18 Jerusalem and the towns of Judah, and its kings, and its officials, to make them a site of ruins, a horror, an object of hissing, and a curse, as it is this day;
18 a Jerusalém, às cidades de Judá, aos seus reis e aos seus príncipes, para fazer deles uma ruína, objeto de espanto, de assobio e maldição, como hoje se vê;
19 Pharaoh, the king of Egypt, and his servants, and his officials, and all his people;
19 a Faraó, rei do Egito, a seus servos, a seus príncipes e a todo o seu povo;
20 and all the other people; and all the kings of the land of Uz; and all the kings of the land of the Philistines—Ashkelon, and Gaza, and Ekron, and the remnant of Ashdod;
20 a todo misto de gente, a todos os reis da terra de Uz, a todos os reis da terra dos filisteus, a Asquelom, a Gaza, a Ecrom e ao resto de Asdode;
21 Edom, and Moab, and the ⌞Ammonites⌟;
21 a Edom, a Moabe e aos filhos de Amom;
22 and all the kings of Tyre, and all the kings of Sidon, and the kings of the coastland that is across the sea;
22 a todos os reis de Tiro, a todos os reis de Sidom e aos reis das terras dalém do mar;
23 and Dedan, and Tema, and Buz, and all those who are trimmed to the side;
23 a Dedã, a Tema, a Buz e a todos os que cortam os cabelos nas têmporas;
24 and all the kings of Arabia, and all the kings of the other people who dwell in the desert;
24 a todos os reis da Arábia e todos os reis do misto de gente que habita no deserto;
25 and all the kings of Zimri, and all the kings of Elam, and all the kings of Media;
25 a todos os reis de Zinri, a todos os reis de Elão e a todos os reis da Média;
26 and all the kings of the north, near and far, each one to his brother, and all the kingdoms of the world that are on the face of the earth; and the king of Sheshach, he will drink after them.
26 a todos os reis do Norte, os de perto e os de longe, um após outro, e a todos os reinos do mundo sobre a face da terra; e, depois de todos eles, ao rei da Babilônia.
27 “And you shall say to them, ‘Thus says Yahweh of hosts, the God of Israel, “Drink and become drunk, and vomit, and fall, and you must not rise because of the ⌞presence⌟ of the sword that I am sending among you.” ’
27 Pois lhes dirás: Assim diz o Senhor dos Exércitos, o Deus de Israel: Bebei, embebedai-vos e vomitai; caí e não torneis a levantar-vos, por causa da espada que estou enviando para o vosso meio.
28 And it will happen, if they refuse to take the cup from your hand to drink, then you shall say to them, ‘Thus says Yahweh of hosts, “You must certainly drink!
28 Se recusarem receber o cálice da tua mão para beber, então, lhes dirás: Assim diz o Senhor dos Exércitos: Tereis de bebê-lo.
29 For look, on the city that is called ⌞by⌟ my name I am beginning to inflict harm, and you indeed, will you go unpunished? You will not go unpunished, for I am summoning a sword against all the inhabitants of the earth,” ⌞declares⌟ Yahweh of hosts.’
29 Pois eis que na cidade que se chama pelo meu nome começo a castigar; e ficareis vós de todo impunes? Não, não ficareis impunes, porque eu chamo a espada sobre todos os moradores da terra, diz o Senhor dos Exércitos.
30 And you yourself shall prophesy against them all these words, and you shall say to them: ‘Yahweh will roar from on high, and from ⌞his holy dwelling place⌟ he will give his voice. He will roar mightily against his settlement, a jubilant shout like those who tread grapes, he will answer against all the inhabitants of the earth.
30 Tu, pois, lhes profetizarás todas estas palavras e lhes dirás: O Senhor lá do alto rugirá e da sua santa morada fará ouvir a sua voz; rugirá fortemente contra a sua malhada, com brados contra todos os moradores da terra, como o eia! dos que pisam as uvas.
31 The rage of battle will resound to the end of the earth, for there is a lawsuit of Yahweh against the nations. He is entering into judgment with all wicked flesh, he will give them to the sword,’ ⌞declares⌟ Yahweh.”
31 Chegará o estrondo até à extremidade da terra, porque o Senhor tem contenda com as nações, entrará em juízo contra toda carne; os perversos entregará à espada, diz o Senhor .
32 Thus says Yahweh of hosts, “Look, disaster is going out from nation to nation, and a great tempest is stirred up from the farthest parts of the earth.
32 Assim diz o Senhor dos Exércitos: Eis que o mal passa de nação para nação, e grande tormenta se levanta dos confins da terra.
33 And the slain ones of Yahweh will be on that day from one end of the earth to the other end of the earth, and they will not be mourned, and they will not be gathered, and they will not be buried. They will become like dung on the ⌞surface⌟ of the ground.
33 Os que o Senhor entregar à morte naquele dia se estenderão de uma a outra extremidade da terra; não serão pranteados, nem recolhidos, nem sepultados; serão como esterco sobre a face da terra.
34 Wail, you shepherds, and cry out. And roll about in mourning in the dust, O leaders of the flock. For your days of slaughter and your dispersions have arrived, and you will fall like a vessel of desire.
34 Uivai, pastores, e clamai; revolvei-vos na cinza, vós, donos dos rebanhos, porque já se cumpriram os vossos dias de matardes e dispersardes, e vós mesmos caireis como jarros preciosos.
35 And flight will perish from the shepherds, and escape from the leaders of the flock.
35 Não haverá refúgio para os pastores, nem salvamento para os donos dos rebanhos.
36 A sound, the cry of distress of the shepherds and the wailing of the leaders of the flock, for Yahweh is despoiling their pasture.
36 Eis o grito dos pastores, o uivo dos donos dos rebanhos! Porque o Senhor está destruindo o pasto deles.
37 And the ⌞peaceful settlements⌟ are devastated because of ⌞the burning anger of Yahweh⌟.
37 Porque as suas malhadas pacíficas serão devastadas, por causa do brasume da ira do Senhor .
38 He has left his den like a lion, for their land has become a horror, because of the anger of the oppressors, and because of ⌞his burning anger⌟.”
38 Saiu da sua morada como o filho de leão; porque a terra deles foi posta em ruínas, por causa do furor da espada e por causa do brasume da ira do Senhor .
