1 The word that came to Jeremiah from Yahweh, ⌞saying⌟,
1 Palavra que veio a Jeremias da parte do SENHOR, dizendo:
2 “Hear the words of this covenant, and speak to the ⌞people⌟ of Judah and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem,
2 Ouvi vós as palavras deste pacto, e falai aos homens de Judá e aos habitantes de Jerusalém.
3 and say to them, ‘Thus says Yahweh, the God of Israel: “The man is cursed who does not obey the words of this covenant,
3 E dize-lhes: Assim diz o SENHOR Deus de Israel: Amaldiçoado seja o homem que não obedecer as palavras deste pacto.
4 which I commanded your ancestors in the day of my bringing them from the land of Egypt, from the furnace of iron, ⌞saying⌟, ‘Listen to my voice and do according to all that I command you, ⌞so will you be my people, and I will be your God⌟.’
4 Que ordenei aos vossos pais no dia em que eu os tirei da terra do Egito, da fornalha de ferro, dizendo: Obedecei à minha voz, e fazei conforme tudo que eu vos ordenei. Então vós sereis meu povo, e eu serei vosso Deus.
5 in order to keep the oath that I swore to your ancestors, to give them a land flowing with milk and honey, as it is this day.” ’ ” Then I answered and said, “⌞Let it be so⌟, O Yahweh.”
5 Para que eu possa realizar completamente o juramento que fiz aos vossos pais, de dar-lhes uma terra que mana leite e mel, como é neste dia. Então eu respondi, e disse: Que assim seja, ó SENHOR.
6 And Yahweh said to me, “Proclaim all these words in the cities of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem, ⌞saying⌟, ‘Hear the words of this covenant and do them,
6 Então o SENHOR me disse: Proclama todas estas palavras nas cidades de Judá, e nas ruas de Jerusalém, dizendo: Ouvi vós as palavras deste pacto, e cumpri-as.
7 for I solemnly admonished your ancestors in the day of my leading them out from the land of Egypt and up to this day, ⌞admonishing persistently⌟, ⌞saying⌟, “Obey my voice.”
7 Pois eu seriamente adverti a vossos pais no dia em que eu os tirei da terra do Egito, até este dia, madrugando e advertindo, dizendo: Obedecei à minha voz.
8 But they did not obey and they did not incline their ear. Instead each one walked in the stubbornness of his evil heart. Therefore, I brought on them all the words of this covenant which I commanded them to do, and they did not do it.’ ”
8 Contudo eles não obedeceram, nem inclinaram os seus ouvidos, porém andaram cada um na imaginação do seu coração malvado. Portanto eu trarei sobre eles todas as palavras deste pacto, as quais eu ordenei que lhes cumprissem, porém eles não o fizeram.
9 And Yahweh said to me, “A conspiracy is found among the ⌞people⌟ of Judah and among the inhabitants of Jerusalem.
9 E o SENHOR disse para mim: Há uma conspiração entre os homens de Judá, e entre os habitantes de Jerusalém.
10 They have turned back to the iniquities of their former ancestors, who refused to obey my words, and they have gone after other gods, to serve them. The house of Israel and the house of Judah have broken my covenant that I ⌞made⌟ with their ancestors.”
10 Eles retornaram às iniquidades dos seus antepassados, os quais se recusaram a ouvir minhas palavras, e eles se foram após outros deuses para os servirem. A casa de Israel e a casa de Judá quebraram o meu pacto, que estabeleci com os seus pais.
11 ⌞Therefore⌟ thus says Yahweh, “I am about to bring on them disaster from which they will not be able to escape. Though they cry out to me, yet I will not listen to them.
11 Portanto assim diz o SENHOR: Eis que eu trarei o mal sobre eles, e não serão capazes de escapar. Ainda que eles clamem a mim, eu não os escutarei.
12 Then the cities of Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem will go and cry out to the gods to whom they are making smoke offerings, but they will certainly not save them in the time of their trouble.
12 Então as cidades de Judá e os habitantes de Jerusalém, irão e clamarão aos deuses a quem eles oferecem incenso. Porém eles não os salvarão de modo algum no tempo da sua aflição.
13 For the number of your towns are your gods, O Judah, and the number of the streets of Jerusalem are the altars you have set up to the shameful things, to make smoke offerings to Baal.
13 Pois conforme o número de tuas cidades eram teus deuses, ó Judá, e conforme o número das ruas de Jerusalém levantaste altares para aquela coisa vergonhosa, até altares para queimar incenso a Baal.
14 Therefore you must not pray for this people, and you must not lift up for them a cry of entreaty, or a prayer, for I will not listen in the time of their calling to me, in the time of their trouble.
14 Portanto, não ores por este povo, nem ergas um clamor ou oração por eles. Pois eu não os ouvirei quando clamarem a mim pela sua aflição.
15 ⌞What rights has my beloved in my house⌟ when she has done many wicked things? Can the flesh of holiness pass over you? For ⌞you engage in your wickedness⌟, then you exult.
15 O que minha amada faz em minha casa, visto que ela forjou lascívia com muitos? E a carne santa passou de ti? Quando tu fazes o mal, então tu te regozijas.
16 Yahweh called your name, ‘A leafy olive tree, ⌞beautiful with fine fruit⌟.’ With the sound of a great storm he will set fire to it, and its branches will be good for nothing.
16 O SENHOR chamou teu nome: Uma oliveira verde, bela e de fruto excelente. Com o barulho de um grande tumulto, ele ateou fogo ao redor dela, e se quebraram os seus ramos.
17 And Yahweh of hosts, the one who planted you, has spoken evil against you, because of the evil of the house of Israel and the house of Judah, that they have done to themselves, to provoke me to anger by making smoke offerings to Baal.”
17 Pois o SENHOR dos Exércitos, que te plantou, pronunciou o mal contra ti, por causa do mal da casa de Israel, e da casa de Judá, o qual fazem contra si mesmos, para me provocar a ira ao oferecer incenso a Baal.
18 Moreover, Yahweh let it be made known to me, and I knew. Then you showed me their deeds.
18 E o SENHOR deu-me conhecimento disto, e eu sei isto. Então me mostraste os seus feitos.
19 And I was like a gentle ram-lamb that is brought to slaughter, and I did not know that they planned plans against me, saying, “Let us destroy the tree with its fruit, and let us cut him off from the land of the living, so that his name will no longer be remembered.”
19 Porém eu era como um cordeiro ou um boi que é levado ao matadouro, e eu não sabia que eles tinham planejado intentos malignos contra mim, dizendo: Destruamos a árvore com o seu fruto, e cortemo-lo da terra dos viventes, para que o nome não seja mais lembrado.
20 But O Yahweh of hosts, who judges in righteousness, who tests the ⌞inmost being⌟, and the ⌞mind⌟, let me see your retribution upon them, for to you I have revealed my legal case.
20 Porém, ó SENHOR dos Exércitos, que julgas justamente, que provas os rins e o coração, permita-me ver a tua vingança sobre eles, pois a ti revelei minha causa.
21 ⌞Therefore⌟ thus says Yahweh concerning the people of Anathoth who seek your life, ⌞saying⌟, “You shall not prophesy in the name of Yahweh ⌞or⌟ you will die by our hand.”
21 Portanto assim diz o SENHOR acerca dos homens de Anatote, que buscam tua vida, dizendo: Não profetizes no nome do SENHOR, para que tu não morras por nossa mão.
22 ⌞Therefore⌟ thus says Yahweh of hosts: “Look, I am about to punish them. The young men will die by the sword. Their sons and their daughters will die by the famine.
22 Portanto assim diz o SENHOR dos Exércitos: Eis que eu os punirei; os homens jovens morrerão pela espada; os seus filhos e as suas filhas morrerão de fome.
23 And a remnant will not be left for them, for I will bring disaster to the people of Anathoth, the year of their punishment.”
23 E não haverá remanescente deles, pois eu trarei o mal sobre os homens de Anatote, até o ano de sua visitação.
