1 And he called in my ears with a loud voice, ⌞saying⌟, “They have come near, the punishers of the city, and each with his weapon of destruction in his hand.
1 Ele gritou também em meus ouvidos com alta voz, dizendo: Fazei com que os intendentes sobre a cidade se aproximem, cada homem com as suas armas destruidoras em sua mão.
2 And look! Six men coming from the way of ⌞the upper gate⌟ that faced ⌞northward⌟, and each with his weapon for shattering in his hand; and one man was in the midst of them, dressed in linen, and the writing case of the scribe was at his side. And they came and stood beside the bronze altar.
2 E, eis que seis homens vinham do caminho do portão mais alto, que fica em direção ao norte, e cada homem com uma arma de massacre em sua mão, e um homem entre eles estava vestido de linho, com um tinteiro de escritor ao seu lado; e eles entraram, e se colocaram ao lado do altar de bronze.
3 And the glory of the God of Israel lifted itself up from upon the cherub that he was on and went to the threshold of the house, and he called to the man who was clothed in linen ⌞with a scribal writing case at his side⌟.
3 E a glória do Deus de Israel se elevou acima do querubim, sobre o qual estava, até a soleira da casa; e ele clamou ao homem vestido de linho, que tinha o tinteiro de escritor ao seu lado;
4 And Yahweh said to him, “Go through in the midst of the city, in the midst of Jerusalem, and you must place a mark on the foreheads of the men ⌞who are groaning and lamenting⌟ about all of the detestable things ⌞that are being done⌟ in the midst of her.”
4 E o SENHOR lhe disse: Vá pelo meio da cidade, pelo meio de Jerusalém, e põe uma marca sobre as testas dos homens que suspiram e choram por causa de todas as abominações que são feitas em seu meio.
5 And to the others he said in my hearing, “Go through the city behind him and kill! Your eyes shall not take pity, and you shall not have compassion.
5 E aos outros, disse ele ao meu ouvir: Ide após ele através da cidade e feri; não poupe o vosso olho, nem tendes pena;
6 You must kill ⌞totally⌟ old man, young man and young woman, and little children and women, but ⌞concerning⌟ every man ⌞with the mark on him⌟ you must not approach; and from my sanctuary you must begin.” And they began with the old men who ⌞were before⌟ the house.
6 matai totalmente velhos e jovens, donzelas e crianças pequenas, e mulheres; mas não chegueis perto de nenhum homem sobre o qual estiver a marca; e começai pelo meu santuário. Então eles começaram pelos homens anciãos que estavam diante da casa.
7 And he said to them, “Defile the house and fill the courtyards with the dead; go out! And they went out, and they killed in the city.
7 E, ele lhes disse: Profanai a casa e enchei os átrios de mortos; vai adiante, e eles foram, e feriram na cidade.
8 ⌞And then⌟ ⌞as they were striking⌟, and I was left behind, I fell on my face, and I cried out, and I said, “Ah, Lord Yahweh! “Will you be destroying all of the remnant of Israel ⌞while you pour out your rage⌟ on Jerusalem?”
8 E, sucedeu que, enquanto eles os estavam matando, e eu fui deixado, caí sobre a minha face, e clamei, e disse: Ah! Senhor DEUS! Tu destruirás todo o resíduo de Israel no derramar da tua fúria sobre Jerusalém?
9 And he said to me, “The guilt of the house of Israel and Judah is ⌞exceedingly⌟ great, and the land is filled with bloodguilt, and the city is full of injustice. For they say Yahweh abandoned the land, and ⌞Yahweh does not see⌟.
9 Então, ele me disse: A iniquidade da casa de Israel e de Judá é excessivamente grande, e a terra está cheia de sangue, e a cidade cheia de perversidade; porque dizem: O SENHOR abandonou a terra, e o SENHOR não vê.
10 And I, my eye will not take pity, and I will not have compassion; their way I will bring on their head.”
10 E quanto a mim também, meu olho não poupará, nem terei pena; mas eu recompensarei o caminho deles sobre sua cabeça.
11 And look! The man clothed in linen and ⌞with a writing case at his side⌟ was bringing back a word, ⌞saying⌟, “I have done all that you commanded me.”
11 E, eis que o homem vestido de linho, que tinha o tinteiro ao seu lado, reportou ao assunto, dizendo: Eu tenho feito como tu me ordenastes.
