1 Unto the end. A Psalm of David.
1 Ó Deus, tu és o meu Deus; procuro estar na tua presença. Todo o meu ser deseja estar contigo; eu tenho sede de ti como uma terra cansada, seca e sem água.
2 Hear, O God, my prayer of supplication. Rescue my soul from the fear of the enemy.
2 Quero ver-te no Templo; quero ver como és poderoso e
3 You have protected me from the assembly of the malignant, from a multitude of workers of iniquity.
3 O teu amor é melhor do que a própria vida, e por isso eu te louvarei.
4 For they have sharpened their tongues like a sword; they have formed their bow into a bitter thing,
4 Enquanto viver, falarei da tua bondade e levantarei as mãos a ti em oração.
5 so that they may shoot arrows from hiding at the immaculate.
5 As tuas bênçãos são como alimentos gostosos; elas me satisfazem, e por isso canto alegremente canções de louvor a ti.
6 They will suddenly shoot arrows at him, and they will not be afraid. They are resolute in their wicked talk. They have discussed hidden snares. They have said, “Who will see them?”
6 Quando estou deitado, eu lembro de ti. Penso em ti a noite toda
7 They have been searching carefully for iniquities. Their exhaustive search has failed. Man will approach with a deep heart,
7 porque sempre me tens ajudado. Na sombra das tuas asas eu canto de alegria.
8 and God will be exalted. The arrows of the little ones have become their wounds,
8 A tua mão direita me segura bem firme, e eu me apego a ti.
9 and their tongues have been weakened against them. All those who saw them have been troubled;
9 Porém aqueles que me querem matar descerão para o
10 and every man was afraid. And they announced the works of God, and they understood his acts.
10 Eles serão mortos na batalha, e os corpos deles serão comidos pelos animais selvagens.
11 The just will rejoice in the Lord, and they will hope in him. And all the upright of heart will be praised.
11 Mas o rei se alegrará porque Deus lhe dá a vitória. Os que fazem promessas em nome de Deus se alegrarão, mas a boca dos mentirosos será fechada.
