1 Unto the end. A Psalm of David.
1 Ó Deus, tu és o meu Deus forte; eu te busco ansiosamente; a minha alma tem sede de ti; meu corpo te almeja, como terra árida, exausta, sem água.
2 Hear, O God, my prayer of supplication. Rescue my soul from the fear of the enemy.
2 Assim, eu te contemplo no santuário, para ver a tua força e a tua glória.
3 You have protected me from the assembly of the malignant, from a multitude of workers of iniquity.
3 Porque a tua graça é melhor do que a vida; os meus lábios te louvam.
4 For they have sharpened their tongues like a sword; they have formed their bow into a bitter thing,
4 Assim, cumpre-me bendizer-te enquanto eu viver; em teu nome, levanto as mãos.
5 so that they may shoot arrows from hiding at the immaculate.
5 Como de banha e de gordura farta-se a minha alma; e, com júbilo nos lábios, a minha boca te louva,
6 They will suddenly shoot arrows at him, and they will not be afraid. They are resolute in their wicked talk. They have discussed hidden snares. They have said, “Who will see them?”
6 no meu leito, quando de ti me recordo e em ti medito, durante a vigília da noite.
7 They have been searching carefully for iniquities. Their exhaustive search has failed. Man will approach with a deep heart,
7 Porque tu me tens sido auxílio; à sombra das tuas asas, eu canto jubiloso.
8 and God will be exalted. The arrows of the little ones have become their wounds,
8 A minha alma apega-se a ti; a tua destra me ampara.
9 and their tongues have been weakened against them. All those who saw them have been troubled;
9 Porém os que me procuram a vida para a destruir abismar-se-ão nas profundezas da terra.
10 and every man was afraid. And they announced the works of God, and they understood his acts.
10 Serão entregues ao poder da espada e virão a ser pasto dos chacais.
11 The just will rejoice in the Lord, and they will hope in him. And all the upright of heart will be praised.
11 O rei, porém, se alegra em Deus; quem por ele jura gloriar-se-á, pois se tapará a boca dos que proferem mentira.
