1 This was the vision of the likeness of the glory of the Lord. And I saw, and I fell on my face, and I heard the voice of someone speaking. And he said to me: “Son of man, stand on your feet, and I will speak with you.”
1 Esta voz me disse: — Filho do homem, fique em pé, e falarei com você.
2 And after this was spoken to me, the Spirit entered into me, and he set me on my feet. And I heard him speaking to me,
2 Enquanto falava comigo, o Espírito entrou em mim e me fez ficar em pé, e ouvi aquele que falava comigo.
3 and saying: “Son of man, I am sending you to the sons of Israel, to an apostate nation, which has withdrawn from me. They and their fathers have betrayed my covenant, even to this day.
3 Ele me disse: — Filho do homem, eu vou enviá-lo aos filhos de Israel, às nações rebeldes que se rebelaram contra mim. Eles e os pais deles se revoltaram contra mim, até precisamente o dia de hoje.
4 And those to whom I am sending you are sons with a hard face and an unyielding heart. And you shall say to them: ‘Thus says the Lord God.’
4 Os filhos têm a mente fechada e o coração endurecido. Eu vou enviá-lo até eles, e você lhes dirá: “Assim diz o Senhor Deus.”
5 Perhaps it may be that they will hear, and perhaps they may be quieted. For they are a provoking house. And they shall know that there has been a prophet in their midst.
5 Eles, quer ouçam quer deixem de ouvir, porque são casa rebelde, saberão que um profeta esteve no meio deles.
6 But as for you, son of man, you should not fear them, and you should not dread their words. For you are among unbelievers and subversives, and you are living with scorpions. You should not fear their words, and you should not dread their faces. For they are a provoking house.
6 — Você, filho do homem, não tenha medo deles nem do que eles disserem. Mesmo que você esteja entre sarças e espinhos e more com escorpiões, não tenha medo do que eles disserem nem se assuste com o rosto deles, porque são casa rebelde.
7 Therefore, you shall speak my words to them, so that perhaps they may hear and be quieted. For they are provoking.
7 Você lhes dirá as minhas palavras, quer ouçam quer deixem de ouvir, pois são rebeldes.
8 But as for you, son of man, listen to all that I say to you. And do not choose to be provoking, as that house is a provoker. Open your mouth, and eat whatever I give to you.”
8 — Você, filho do homem, ouça o que eu lhe digo: não seja rebelde como essa gente. Abra a boca e coma o que eu vou lhe dar.
9 And I looked, and behold: a hand was put forth toward me; there was a scroll rolled up in it. And he spread it out before me, and there was writing on the inside and on the outside. And there were written in it lamentations, and verses, and woes.
9 Então olhei, e eis que certa mão se estendia para mim, e nela se achava o rolo de um livro.
10 — ausente —
10 Ela o desenrolou diante de mim, e estava escrito por dentro e por fora. No rolo, estavam escritas lamentações, gemidos e ais.
