1 This was the vision of the likeness of the glory of the Lord. And I saw, and I fell on my face, and I heard the voice of someone speaking. And he said to me: “Son of man, stand on your feet, and I will speak with you.”
1 E ele me disse: Filho do homem, põe-te sobre os teus pés, e eu falarei contigo.
2 And after this was spoken to me, the Spirit entered into me, and he set me on my feet. And I heard him speaking to me,
2 E o Espírito entrou em mim, quando ele falava comigo, e me pôs sobre meus pés, para que eu ouvisse aquele que falava comigo.
3 and saying: “Son of man, I am sending you to the sons of Israel, to an apostate nation, which has withdrawn from me. They and their fathers have betrayed my covenant, even to this day.
3 E disse-me: Filho do homem, eu te envio aos filhos de Israel, a uma nação rebelde que se rebelou contra mim; eles e seus pais têm transgredido contra mim, até o dia de hoje.
4 And those to whom I am sending you are sons with a hard face and an unyielding heart. And you shall say to them: ‘Thus says the Lord God.’
4 Porque eles são filhos impudentes e duros de coração. Eu te envio a eles, e tu lhes dirás: Assim diz o Senhor DEUS.
5 Perhaps it may be that they will hear, and perhaps they may be quieted. For they are a provoking house. And they shall know that there has been a prophet in their midst.
5 E eles, quer ouçam ou deixem de ouvir, (porque eles são uma casa rebelde), mesmo assim, hão de saber que houve um profeta entre eles.
6 But as for you, son of man, you should not fear them, and you should not dread their words. For you are among unbelievers and subversives, and you are living with scorpions. You should not fear their words, and you should not dread their faces. For they are a provoking house.
6 E tu, filho do homem, não os temas, nem temas as suas palavras; ainda que sarças e espinhos estejam contigo, e habites entre escorpiões; não temas as suas palavras, nem te assustes com os seus olhares, embora sejam uma casa rebelde.
7 Therefore, you shall speak my words to them, so that perhaps they may hear and be quieted. For they are provoking.
7 E tu lhes falarás as minhas palavras, quer eles ouçam ou deixem de ouvir, pois são muito rebeldes.
8 But as for you, son of man, listen to all that I say to you. And do not choose to be provoking, as that house is a provoker. Open your mouth, and eat whatever I give to you.”
8 Mas tu, filho do homem, ouve o que eu digo a ti: Não sejas rebelde como a casa rebelde; abre a tua boca, e come o que eu te dou.
9 And I looked, and behold: a hand was put forth toward me; there was a scroll rolled up in it. And he spread it out before me, and there was writing on the inside and on the outside. And there were written in it lamentations, and verses, and woes.
9 E quando eu olhei, eis que uma mão me foi enviada, e eis que um rolo de livro estava nela.
10 — ausente —
10 E ele estendeu-o diante de mim, e ele estava escrito por dentro e por fora; e o escrito ali eram lamentos, e lutos, e ais.
