1 And again he entered Capernaum, after some days; and they heard that he was in the house.
1 E, novamente, ele entrou em Cafarnaum depois de alguns dias, e divulgou-se que ele estava na casa.
2 And immediately many came together, so that the house could contain them no longer, nor could the space about the door. And he preached the word to them.
2 E imediatamente muitos se reuniram, de modo que não havia lugar para recebê-los, nem mesmo diante da porta; e ele lhes pregava a palavra.
3 And they came to him, bringing a paralytic, who was carried by four men.
3 E vieram até ele, trazendo um paralítico, que era carregado por quatro.
4 And not being able to come near him, on account of the multitude, they took off the roof where he was, and having broken through, they let down the bed on which the paralytic lay.
4 E, eles não podendo aproximar-se dele, por causa da multidão, destaparam o telhado onde estava; e, fazendo uma abertura, eles baixaram o leito onde estava deitado o paralítico.
5 And Jesus, seeing their faith, said to the paralytic: Son, your sins are forgiven you.
5 E Jesus vendo a fé deles, disse ao paralítico: Filho, teus pecados estão perdoados.
6 But some of the scribes were sitting there, and reasoning in their hearts:
6 Mas estavam ali assentados alguns escribas, que argumentavam em seus corações:
7 Why does this man thus speak impiously? Who can forgive sins but God only?
7 Por que fala este homem blasfêmias? Quem pode perdoar pecados, senão Deus?
8 And Jesus, immediately perceiving in his spirit that they thus reasoned within themselves, said to them: Why are you reasoning thus in your hearts?
8 E imediatamente quando Jesus percebeu em seu espírito que argumentavam entre si, disse-lhes: Por que argumentais sobre estas coisas em vossos corações?
9 Which is easier, to say to the paralytic, Your sins are forgiven; or to say, Arise, take up your bed and walk?
9 O que é mais fácil dizer ao paralítico: Teus pecados estão perdoados; ou dizer: Levanta-te, e toma o teu leito, e anda?
10 But that you may know that the Son of man on earth has authority to forgive sins, (he said to the paralytic,)
10 Mas para que possas saber que o Filho do homem tem na terra poder para perdoar pecados (ele disse ao paralítico),
11 I say to you, Arise, take up your bed and go to your house.
11 a ti te digo: Levanta-te, toma o teu leito, e vai pelo teu caminho para a tua casa.
12 And he arose forthwith, and took up his bed, and went out before them all; so that they were all amazed, and glorified God, saying: We have never seen it thus.
12 E, imediatamente, ele se levantou, tomou o leito e saiu à vista de todos; de modo que todos se maravilharam e glorificaram a Deus, dizendo: Nós nunca vimos algo assim!
13 And he went out again by the sea: and all the multitude came to him, and he taught them.
13 E ele saiu outra vez para a beira do mar; e toda a multidão ia ter com ele, e ele os ensinava.
14 And as he passed by, he saw Levi the son of Alphæus sitting at the custom-house; and he said to him: Follow me. And he arose and followed him.
14 E, enquanto ele passava, viu Levi, filho de Alfeu, sentado na coletoria, e disse-lhe: Segue-me. E ele, levantando-se, o seguiu.
15 And it came to pass, as Jesus reclined at table in his house, that many publicans and sinners reclined with him and his disciples; for there were many, and they followed him.
15 E aconteceu que, quando Jesus reclinou-se para comer em sua casa, muitos publicanos e pecadores reclinaram-se também junto com Jesus e seus discípulos; porquanto eram muitos, e eles o seguiam.
16 And when the scribes and Pharisees saw him eating with publicans and sinners, they said to his disciples: Why is it that he eats and drinks with publicans and sinners?
16 E quando os escribas e fariseus viram-no comendo com publicanos e pecadores, disseram aos seus discípulos: Por que ele come e bebe com publicanos e pecadores?
17 And when Jesus heard it, he said to them: Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick. I have not come to call righteous men, but sinners.
17 E Jesus ouvindo isto, disse-lhes: Os sãos não necessitam de médico, mas os que estão enfermos; eu não vim para chamar os justos, mas os pecadores ao arrependimento.
18 And the disciples of John and of the Pharisees were in the habit of fasting; and they came, and said to him: Why do the disciples of John and of the Pharisees fast, but your disciples fast not?
18 E os discípulos de João e os fariseus jejuavam; e vieram e disseram-lhe: Por que jejuam os discípulos de João e os dos fariseus, mas os teus discípulos não jejuam?
19 And Jesus said to them: Can the sons of the bride-chamber fast, while the bridegroom is with them? As long as they have the bridegroom with them, they can not fast.
19 E respondeu-lhes Jesus: Podem os convidados do noivo jejuar enquanto o noivo está com eles? Enquanto eles têm consigo o noivo, não podem jejuar.
20 But the days will come when the bridegroom shall be taken from them, and then they will fast in those days.
20 Mas dias virão em que lhes será tirado o noivo, e então hão de jejuar naqueles dias.
21 No one sews a patch of new cloth on an old garment; if so, the new piece which fills it up, takes from the old, and a worse rent is made.
21 Nenhum homem põe um pedaço de pano novo em roupa velha, do contrário o remendo novo rompe o velho, e faz-se maior o rasgo.
22 And no one puts new wine into old bottles; if so, the new wine bursts the bottles, and the wine is spilled, and the bottles are destroyed. But new wine must be put into new bottles.
22 E nenhum homem põe vinho novo em odres velhos; do contrário o vinho novo rompe os odres, e o vinho se derrama, e os odres se perdem; mas vinho novo deve ser colocado dentro de odres novos.
23 And it came to pass, that he was going on the sabbath-day through the fields of grain: and his disciples began, as they went, to pull the ears of grain.
23 E aconteceu que ele passou entre os campos de trigo no dia do shabat; e os seus discípulos começaram, enquanto eles iam, a arrancar espigas de trigo.
24 And the Pharisees said to him: See, why are they doing on the sabbath-day what is not lawful?
24 E os fariseus lhe disseram: Vê, por que eles estão fazendo no dia do shabat o que não é lícito?
25 And he said to them: Did you never read what David did, when he had need and was hungry, he and those who were with him?
25 Mas ele disse-lhes: Nunca lestes o que fez Davi, quando teve necessidade e estava faminto, ele e os que com ele estavam?
26 How he entered the house of God in the days of Abiathar the chief priest, and ate the loaves of the presence, which, it is not lawful, except for the priests, to eat, and gave to those also who were with him?
26 Como entrou na casa de Deus, nos dias de Abiatar, sumo sacerdote, e comeu os pães da proposição, dos quais não era lícito comer senão aos sacerdotes, e deu também aos que com ele estavam?
27 And he said to them: The sabbath was made for man, not man for the sabbath.
27 E disse-lhes: O shabat foi feito para o homem, e não o homem para o shabat.
28 Therefore, the Son of man is Lord also of the sabbath.
28 Portanto o Filho do homem é Senhor também do shabat.
