1 සර්ව්වාන් ද්වේෂාන් සර්ව්වාංශ්ච ඡලාන් කාපට්යානීර්ෂ්යාඃ සමස්තග්ලානිකථාශ්ච දූරීකෘත්ය
1 Deponde, pois, toda malícia, toda astúcia, fingimentos, invejas e toda espécie de maledicência.
2 යුෂ්මාභිඃ පරිත්රාණාය වෘද්ධිප්රාප්ත්යර්ථං නවජාතශිශුභිරිව ප්රකෘතං වාග්දුග්ධං පිපාස්යතාං|
2 as newborn babes desire earnestly the pure mental milk of the word, that by it ye may grow up to salvation,
3 යතඃ ප්රභු ර්මධුර ඒතස්යාස්වාදං යූයං ප්රාප්තවන්තඃ|
3 if indeed ye have tasted that the Lord {is} good.
4 අපරං මානුෂෛරවඥාතස්ය කින්ත්වීශ්වරේණාභිරුචිතස්ය බහුමූල්යස්ය ජීවත්ප්රස්තරස්යේව තස්ය ප්රභෝඃ සන්නිධිම් ආගතා

5 යූයමපි ජීවත්ප්රස්තරා ඉව නිචීයමානා ආත්මිකමන්දිරං ඛ්රීෂ්ටේන යීශුනා චේශ්වරතෝෂකාණාම් ආත්මිකබලීනාං දානාර්ථං පවිත්රෝ යාජකවර්ගෝ භවථ|
5 yourselves also, as living stones, are being built up a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.
6 යතඃ ශාස්ත්රේ ලිඛිතමාස්තේ, යථා, පශ්ය පාෂාණ ඒකෝ (අ)ස්ති සීයෝනි ස්ථාපිතෝ මයා| මුඛ්යකෝණස්ය යෝග්යඃ ස වෘතශ්චාතීව මූල්යවාන්| යෝ ජනෝ විශ්වසේත් තස්මින් ස ලජ්ජාං න ගමිෂ්යති|
6 Because it is contained in the scripture: Behold, I lay in Zion a corner stone, elect, precious: and he that believes on him shall not be put to shame.
7 විශ්වාසිනාං යුෂ්මාකමේව සමීපේ ස මූල්යවාන් භවති කින්ත්වවිශ්වාසිනාං කෘතේ නිචේතෘභිරවඥාතඃ ස පාෂාණඃ කෝණස්ය භිත්තිමූලං භූත්වා බාධාජනකඃ පාෂාණඃ ස්ඛලනකාරකශ්ච ශෛලෝ ජාතඃ|
7 To you therefore who believe {is} the preciousness; but to the disobedient, the stone which the builders cast away as worthless, this is become head of {the} corner,
8 තේ චාවිශ්වාසාද් වාක්යේන ස්ඛලන්ති ස්ඛලනේ ච නියුක්තාඃ සන්ති|
8 and a stone of stumbling and rock of offence; {who} stumble at the word, being disobedient to which also they have been appointed.
9 කින්තු යූයං යේනාන්ධකාරමධ්යාත් ස්වකීයාශ්චර්ය්යදීප්තිමධ්යම් ආහූතාස්තස්ය ගුණාන් ප්රකාශයිතුම් අභිරුචිතෝ වංශෝ රාජකීයෝ යාජකවර්ගඃ පවිත්රා ජාතිරධිකර්ත්තව්යාඃ ප්රජාශ්ච ජාතාඃ|
9 But *ye* {are} a chosen race, a kingly priesthood, a holy nation, a people for a possession, that ye might set forth the excellencies of him who has called you out of darkness to his wonderful light;
10 පූර්ව්වං යූයං තස්ය ප්රජා නාභවත කින්ත්විදානීම් ඊශ්වරස්ය ප්රජා ආධ්වේ| පූර්ව්වම් අනනුකම්පිතා අභවත කින්ත්විදානීම් අනුකම්පිතා ආධ්වේ|
10 who once {were} not a people, but now God's people; who were not enjoying mercy, but now have found mercy.
11 හේ ප්රියතමාඃ, යූයං ප්රවාසිනෝ විදේශිනශ්ච ලෝකා ඉව මනසඃ ප්රාතිකූල්යේන යෝධිභ්යඃ ශාරීරිකසුඛාභිලාෂේභ්යෝ නිවර්ත්තධ්වම් ඉත්යහං විනයේ|
11 Beloved, I exhort {you}, as strangers and sojourners, to abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul;
12 දේවපූජකානාං මධ්යේ යුෂ්මාකම් ආචාර ඒවම් උත්තමෝ භවතු යථා තේ යුෂ්මාන් දුෂ්කර්ම්මකාරිලෝකානිව පුන ර්න නින්දන්තඃ කෘපාදෘෂ්ටිදිනේ ස්වචක්ෂුර්ගෝචරීයසත්ක්රියාභ්ය ඊශ්වරස්ය ප්රශංසාං කුර්ය්යුඃ|
12 having your conversation honest among the Gentiles, that {as to that} in which they speak against you as evildoers, they may through {your} good works, {themselves} witnessing {them}, glorify God in {the} day of visitation.
13 තතෝ හේතෝ ර්යූයං ප්රභෝරනුරෝධාත් මානවසෘෂ්ටානාං කර්තෘත්වපදානාං වශීභවත විශේෂතෝ භූපාලස්ය යතඃ ස ශ්රේෂ්ඨඃ,

14 දේශාධ්යක්ෂාණාඤ්ච යතස්තේ දුෂ්කර්ම්මකාරිණාං දණ්ඩදානාර්ථං සත්කර්ම්මකාරිණාං ප්රශංසාර්ථඤ්ච තේන ප්රේරිතාඃ|
14 or to rulers as sent by him, for vengeance on evildoers, and praise to them that do well.
15 ඉත්ථං නිර්බ්බෝධමානුෂාණාම් අඥානත්වං යත් සදාචාරිභි ර්යුෂ්මාභි ර්නිරුත්තරීක්රියතේ තද් ඊශ්වරස්යාභිමතං|
15 Because so is the will of God, that by well-doing ye put to silence the ignorance of senseless men;
16 යූයං ස්වාධීනා ඉවාචරත තථාපි දුෂ්ටතායා වේෂස්වරූපාං ස්වාධීනතාං ධාරයන්ත ඉව නහි කින්ත්වීශ්වරස්ය දාසා ඉව|
16 as free, and not as having liberty as a cloak of malice, but as God's bondmen.
17 සර්ව්වාන් සමාද්රියධ්වං භ්රාතෘවර්ගේ ප්රීයධ්වම් ඊශ්වරාද් බිභීත භූපාලං සම්මන්යධ්වං|
17 Shew honour to all, love the brotherhood, fear God, honour the king.
18 හේ දාසාඃ යූයං සම්පූර්ණාදරේණ ප්රභූනාං වශ්යා භවත කේවලං භද්රාණාං දයාලූනාඤ්ච නහි කින්ත්වනෘජූනාමපි|
18 Servants, {be} subject with all fear to your masters, not only to the good and gentle, but also to the ill-tempered.
19 යතෝ (අ)න්යායේන දුඃඛභෝගකාල ඊශ්වරචින්තයා යත් ක්ලේශසහනං තදේව ප්රියං|
19 For this {is} acceptable, if one, for conscience sake towards God, endure griefs, suffering unjustly.
20 පාපං කෘත්වා යුෂ්මාකං චපේටාඝාතසහනේන කා ප්රශංසා? කින්තු සදාචාරං කෘත්වා යුෂ්මාකං යද් දුඃඛසහනං තදේවේශ්වරස්ය ප්රියං|
20 For what glory {is it}, if sinning and being buffeted ye shall bear {it}? but if, doing good and suffering, ye shall bear {it}, this is acceptable with God.
21 තදර්ථමේව යූයම් ආහූතා යතඃ ඛ්රීෂ්ටෝ(අ)පි යුෂ්මන්නිමිත්තං දුඃඛං භුක්ත්වා යූයං යත් තස්ය පදචිහ්නෛ ර්ව්රජේත තදර්ථං දෘෂ්ටාන්තමේකං දර්ශිතවාන්|
21 For to this have ye been called; for Christ also has suffered for you, leaving you a model that ye should follow in his steps:
22 ස කිමපි පාපං න කෘතවාන් තස්ය වදනේ කාපි ඡලස්ය කථා නාසීත්|
22 who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth;
23 නින්දිතෝ (අ)පි සන් ස ප්රතිනින්දාං න කෘතවාන් දුඃඛං සහමානෝ (අ)පි න භර්ත්සිතවාන් කින්තු යථාර්ථවිචාරයිතුඃ සමීපේ ස්වං සමර්පිතවාන්|
23 who, {when} reviled, reviled not again; {when} suffering, threatened not; but gave {himself} over into the hands of him who judges righteously;
24 වයං යත් පාපේභ්යෝ නිවෘත්ය ධර්ම්මාර්ථං ජීවාමස්තදර්ථං ස ස්වශරීරේණාස්මාකං පාපානි ක්රුශ ඌඪවාන් තස්ය ප්රහාරෛ ර්යූයං ස්වස්ථා අභවත|
24 who himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, in order that, being dead to sins, we may live to righteousness: by whose stripes ye have been healed.
25 යතඃ පූර්ව්වං යූයං භ්රමණකාරිමේෂා ඉවාධ්වං කින්ත්වධුනා යුෂ්මාකම් ආත්මනාං පාලකස්යාධ්යක්ෂස්ය ච සමීපං ප්රත්යාවර්ත්තිතාඃ|
25 For ye were going astray as sheep, but have now returned to the shepherd and overseer of your souls.
