1 To the choirmaster. A Psalm of David.
1 O rei se alegra em tua força, SENHOR; e na tua salvação grandemente se regozija.
2 In thy strength the king rejoices, O LORD; and in thy help how greatly he exults!
2 Cumpriste-lhe o desejo do seu coração, e não negaste as súplicas dos seus lábios. (Selá.)
3 Thou hast given him his heart's desire, and hast not withheld the request of his lips. [Selah]
3 Pois vais ao seu encontro com as bênçãos de bondade; pões na sua cabeça uma coroa de ouro fino.
4 For thou dost meet him with goodly blessings; thou dost set a crown of fine gold upon his head.
4 Vida te pediu, e lha deste, mesmo longura de dias para sempre e eternamente.
5 He asked life of thee; thou gavest it to him, length of days for ever and ever.
5 Grande é a sua glória pela tua salvação; glória e majestade puseste sobre ele.
6 His glory is great through thy help; splendor and majesty thou dost bestow upon him.
6 Pois o abençoaste para sempre; tu o enches de gozo com a tua face.
7 Yea, thou dost make him most blessed for ever; thou dost make him glad with the joy of thy presence.
7 Porque o rei confia no Senhor, e pela misericórdia do Altíssimo nunca vacilará.
8 For the king trusts in the LORD; and through the steadfast love of the Most High he shall not be moved.
8 A tua mão alcançará todos os teus inimigos, a tua mão direita alcançará aqueles que te odeiam.
9 Your hand will find out all your enemies; your right hand will find out those who hate you.
9 Tu os farás como um forno de fogo no tempo da tua ira; o Senhor os devorará na sua indignação, e o fogo os consumirá.
10 You will make them as a blazing oven when you appear. The LORD will swallow them up in his wrath; and fire will consume them.
10 Seu fruto destruirás da terra, e a sua semente dentre os filhos dos homens.
11 You will destroy their offspring from the earth, and their children from among the sons of men.
11 Porque intentaram o mal contra ti; maquinaram um ardil, mas não prevalecerão.
12 If they plan evil against you, if they devise mischief, they will not succeed.
12 Assim que tu lhes farás voltar as costas; e com tuas flechas postas nas cordas lhes apontarás ao rosto.
13 For you will put them to flight; you will aim at their faces with your bows. [ (Psalms 21:14) Be exalted, O LORD, in thy strength! We will sing and praise thy power. ]
13 Exalta-te, Senhor, na tua força; então cantaremos e louvaremos o teu poder.
