1 Return thou, O Israel, unto Yahweh thy God,for thou hast stumbled by thine iniquity.
1 Volte, ó Israel, para o S enhor , seu Deus, pois seus pecados causaram sua queda.
2 Take with you words, and return to Yahweh: say unto himWholly, shalt thou take away iniquity, Accept, then, with favour, and we will make good the boldness of our lips!
2 Tragam suas confissões e voltem para o S enhor . Digam-lhe: “Perdoa nossos pecados e recebe-nos com bondade, para que possamos oferecer-te nossos louvores.
3 Assyria, shall not save us, Upon horses, will we not ride, neither will we say any moreOur god! to the work of our own hands! For, in thee, shall the fatherless, find compassion.
3 A Assíria não pode nos salvar, nossos cavalos de guerra também não. Nunca mais diremos aos ídolos que fizemos: ‘Vocês são nossos deuses’. Somente em ti os órfãos encontram misericórdia”.
4 I will heal their apostacy, I will love them freely,for mine anger, hath turned, from them.
4 “Então eu os curarei de sua infidelidade e os amarei com todo o meu ser, pois minha ira desaparecerá para sempre.
5 I will become as the dew unto Israel, he shall break forth as the lily,and he shall strike his roots as Lebanon:
5 Serei para Israel como o orvalho refrescante. Israel florescerá como o lírio; lançará raízes profundas no solo, como os cedros do Líbano.
6 His branches, shall spread, that, like an olive-tree, may be his fresh beauty,and his fragrance, like Lebanon.
6 Seus ramos se estenderão como belas oliveiras, perfumados como os cedros do Líbano.
7 They who dwell in his shade shall again show life like the corn, and break forth as the vine,and, the remembrance of him, shall be like the wine of Lebanon.
7 Meu povo viverá novamente à minha sombra; crescerá como o trigo e florescerá como a videira. Seu aroma será agradável, como o dos vinhos do Líbano.
8 Ephraim What to me any more are idols? I, have answered, and have closely observed him, I, am like a fir-tree that is green, From me, is thy fruit found.
8 “Ó Israel, fique longe dos ídolos! Sou eu que respondo às suas orações e cuido de vocês. Sou como a árvore sempre verde; todos os seus frutos vêm de mim.”
9 Who is wise, that he may understand these things? intelligent, that he may take knowledge of them? For, straightforward, are the ways of Yahweh, and, the righteous, shall travel therein, but, transgressors, shall stumble therein.
9 Quem for sábio, entenda estas coisas; quem tiver discernimento, ouça com atenção. Os caminhos do S e neles andam os justos. Mas, nesses mesmos caminhos, os pecadores tropeçam e caem.
