1 And it came to pass that when the people were giving themselves up to murmuring, it was grievous in the ears of Yahweh,so Yahweh hearkened, and kindled was his anger, and the fire of Yahweh burned among them, and consumed the uttermost part of the camp.
1 E quando o povo se queixou, isso desagradou ao SENHOR, e o SENHOR ouviu isto; e a sua ira se acendeu, e o fogo do SENHOR ardeu entre eles, e consumiu os que estavam nas partes mais distantes do acampamento.
2 Then did the people make outcry unto Moses,and Moses prayed unto Yahweh, and the fire sank down.
2 E o povo clamou a Moisés, e quando Moisés orou ao SENHOR, o fogo se apagou.
3 So he called the name of that place, Taberah because there burned among them the fire of Yahweh. \fs15
3 E ele chamou aquele lugar de Taberá, porque o fogo do SENHOR acendera entre eles.
4 Moreover the mixed multitude that was in their midst concealed not their lusting,and so even the sons of Israel, fell away and wept, and said: Who will grant us to eat flesh?
4 E no meio deles havia alguns estrangeiros que sentiram um anseio, e os filhos de Israel também choraram outra vez, e perguntaram: Quem nos dará carne para comer?
5 We remember the fish that we did eat in Egypt, without money,the cucumbers, and the water-melons, and the leeks and the onions, and the garlick.
5 Nós nos lembramos dos peixes que comíamos livremente no Egito; e os pepinos, e os melões, e os alhos-porros, e as cebolas, e os alhos.
6 But, now, our soul is dried up, there is nothing at all,unless, unto the manna, our eyes.
6 Mas agora a nossa alma está seca; não há nada além deste maná, diante dos nossos olhos.
7 Now, the manna, was like coriander seed, and the appearance thereof like the appearance of bdellium,
7 E o maná era como semente de coentro, e a sua cor como a cor do bdélio.
8 The people used to go about and pick it up, and grind it with a pair of mill-stones, or pound it in a mortar, and boil it in a pot, and make it into round cakes,then was the taste thereof like the taste of a sweet cake made with oil.
8 E o povo ia e o colhia, e o moía em moinhos ou esmagava em pilões, e o cozinhava em panelas, e fazia bolos deles; e o seu sabor era como o do azeite fresco.
9 When the dew came down upon the camp by night, the manna came down thereupon.
9 E quando caía o orvalho sobre o acampamento, à noite, o maná descia sobre ele.
10 So then Moses heard the people weeping by their families, every one at the entrance of his tent,then kindled the anger of Yahweh fiercely, and in the eyes of Moses, it was grievous.
10 Então, Moisés ouviu o povo chorar, as suas famílias, cada homem à porta da sua tenda; e a ira do SENHOR se acendeu grandemente. Moisés também estava descontente.
11 And Moses said unto YahwehWherefore hast thou let thy servant come to grief, and wherefore have I not found favour in thine eyes,that thou shouldest lay the burden of all this people upon me.
11 E Moisés disse ao SENHOR: Por que afligiste a teu servo, e por que não encontrei favor aos teus olhos, por qual razão colocaste os cuidados de todo este povo sobre mim?
12 Did, I, conceive all this people, or, I, beget them,that thou shouldest say unto me, Carry them in thy bosom, as a nursing father carrieth a suckling, unto the soil which thou didst swear unto their fathers?
12 Eu concebi todo este povo? Fui eu que o gerei, para que me dissesses: Leva-os no teu seio, como a ama leva a criança que ainda é amamentada à terra que juraste aos seus pais?
13 Whence should, I, have flesh to give to all this people,for they keep weeping by me saying, Oh give us flesh that we may eat!
13 De onde eu poderia obter carne para dar a todo este povo? Porque choram a mim, e dizem: Dá-nos carne para que possamos comer.
14 Unable, am, I, by myself, to carry all this people,for they are too heavy for me.
14 Eu sozinho não sou capaz de suportar com todo este povo, porque isto é pesado demais para mim.
15 But if, in this way, thou art going to deal with me, slay me, I beseech thee, slay, if I have found favour in thine eyes,and let me not see my grief,
15 E, se ages assim comigo, eu te peço, mata-me se encontrei favor aos teus olhos; e não me deixes ver a minha desgraça.
16 Then said Yahweh unto MosesGather thou unto me seventy men, from among the elders of Israel, of whom thou knowest that they are elders of the people and their overseers,then shalt thou take them unto the tent of meeting, and they shall station themselves there with thee.
16 E o SENHOR disse a Moisés: Reúne para mim setenta homens dos anciãos de Israel, a quem conheces como anciãos do povo e seus oficiais; e traze-os ao tabernáculo da congregação, para que possam ficar ali contigo.
17 Then will I come down, and speak with thee there, and will take of the spirit that is upon thee and put upon them,and they shall carry, with thee, the burden of the people, and, thou, shalt not carry it by thyself.
17 E eu descerei, e ali falarei contigo, e tirarei do espírito que está sobre ti, e o colocarei sobre eles; e eles levarão contigo a carga do povo, para que não a leves sozinho.
18 And, unto the people, shalt thou say: Hallow yourselves by to-morrow, and ye shall eat flesh, for ye have wept in the ears of Yahweh sayingWho will grant us to eat flesh? for it was well with us in Egypt,so then Yahweh will give you flesh and ye shall eat.
18 E dize ao povo: Santificai-vos para amanhã e comereis carne, porque chorastes aos ouvidos do SENHOR, dizendo: Quem nos dará carne para comer? Porque tudo ia bem conosco no Egito; e por isso o SENHOR vos dará carne, e comereis.
19 Not one day, shall ye eat nor two days,nor five days nor ten days, nor twenty days:
19 E não comereis um dia, nem dois dias, nem cinco dias, nem dez dias, nem vinte dias;
20 for a month of days until it cometh forth out of your nostrils, so shall it become to you a loathsome thing,because ye have refused Yahweh who is in your midst, and have wept before him, saying, Wherefore now came we forth out of Egypt?
20 mas durante um mês inteiro, até que vos saia pelas narinas, até que vos seja repugnante, porque desprezastes o SENHOR, que está no vosso meio, e chorastes diante dele, dizendo: Por que saímos do Egito?
21 And Moses said, Six hundred thousand footmen, are the people in whose midst am, I, yet thou hast saidFlesh, will I give unto them, a and they shall eat for a month of days.
21 E disse Moisés: O povo no meio do qual estou, são seiscentos mil homens de pé, e disseste: Eu lhes darei carne para que possam comer um mês inteiro.
22 Shall the flocks and herds, be slaughtered for them, that it may suffice for them? Shall all the fishes of the sea, be gathered together unto them that it may suffice for them?
22 Deveremos matar os rebanhos e o gado, para satisfazê-los? Ou todos os peixes do mar serão reunidos para eles, para satisfazê-los?
23 Then said Yahweh unto Moses, Shall the hand of Yahweh, fail? Now, shalt thou see whether my word come to pass unto thee or not.
23 E o SENHOR disse a Moisés: Terá a mão do SENHOR ficado mais curta? Verás, agora, se a minha palavra acontecerá a ti ou não.
24 And Moses went forth and spake unto the people the words of Yahweh,and gathered together seventy men from among the elders of the people, and caused them to stand round about the tent.
24 E Moisés saiu, e disse ao povo as palavras do SENHOR, e reuniu setenta homens dos anciãos do povo e os colocou ao redor do tabernáculo.
25 Then Yahweh came down, in the cloud, and spake unto him, and took e of the spirit that was upon him, and gave unto the seventy menthe elders. And it came to pass that when the spirit rested upon them, they prophesied, and then did so no more.
25 E o SENHOR desceu em uma nuvem, e lhe falou; e tomou do Espírito que estava sobre ele, e deu aos setenta anciãos; e sucedeu que, quando repousava sobre eles o Espírito, eles profetizaram, e não cessou.
26 Now there were two men left behind in the campthe name of the one, was Eldad and the name of the other, Medad, so then the spirit, rested on themthey, being among them who were written, though they hint not gone forth unto the tent,but they prophesied in the camp.
26 Mas ficaram dois dos homens no acampamento; um deles se chamava Eldade, e o outro Medade; e pousou sobre eles o Espírito, e eles estavam entre os inscritos, porém não foram ao tabernáculo, e eles profetizavam no acampamento.
27 And there ran a young man, and told Moses and said,Eldad and Medad, are prophesying in the camp!
27 E um jovem correu, e contou a Moisés, dizendo: Eldade e Medade estão profetizando no acampamento.
28 Then responded Joshua son of Nun the attendant of Moses from his youth, and said,My lord Moses forbid them!
28 E Josué, filho de Num, servo de Moisés, um dos seus jovens, respondeu e disse: Moisés, meu senhor, proíbe que façam isso.
29 But Moses said unto him, Art, thou, jealous for, me? Oh would that, all the people of Yahweh, were prophets! Yea let Yahweh put his spirit upon them!
29 E Moisés lhe disse: Tens tu ciúmes por mim? Quisera Deus que todo o povo do SENHOR fosse profeta, e que o SENHOR colocasse o seu Espírito sobre eles.
30 Then was Moses received back into the camp,he and the elders of Israel.
30 E Moisés o levou ao acampamento, ele e os anciãos de Israel.
31 Now, a wind, had sprung up, from Yahweh, and cut off quails from the sea, and let them lie over the campas it were a days journey here and a days journey there, round about the amp,and as it were two cubits on the face of the land.
31 E então, veio um vento do SENHOR, e trouxe codornizes do mar, e as fez cair no acampamento, estavam um dia de viagem de um lado, e estavam um dia de viagem do outro lado, ao redor do acampamento, e era dois côvados de altura sobre a terra.
32 And the people rose up all that day and all the night and all the next day, and gathered the quails, he that did least, gathered ten homers,and they spread them out for themselves spreading away, round about the camp.
32 E o povo se levantou todo aquele dia, e toda aquela noite, e todo o dia seguinte, e recolheu as codornizes; aquele que colhera menos, colhera dez ômeres; e as espalharam ao redor do acampamento.
33 The flesh, was yet between their teeth, not yet chewed,when the anger of Yahweh, had kindled upon the people, and Yahweh smote the people, with an exceeding great plague.
33 E quando a carne estava entre os seus dentes, e antes que fosse mastigada, a ira do SENHOR se acendeu contra o povo, e o SENHOR feriu o povo com uma praga muito grande.
34 And the name of that place was called Kibroth-hattaavahbecause there, they buried the people who had lusted,
34 E deu àquele lugar o nome de Quibrote-Hataavá, porque ali enterraram o povo que teve o desejo.
35 From Kibroth-hattaavah, the people set forward to Hazeroth,and they remained in Hazeroth.
35 E de Quibrote-Hataavá, o povo viajou para Hazerote e ficou em Hazerote.
