1 And he went on to say, unto his disciples also,There was, a certain rich man, who had a steward, and, the same, was accused to him as squandering his goods.
1 E ele dizia também aos seus discípulos: Havia um certo homem rico, o qual tinha um mordomo; e este foi acusado perante ele de estar desperdiçando os seus bens.
2 And, accosting him, he said unto himWhat is this I hear of thee? Render the account of thy stewardship, for thou canst no longer be steward.
2 E ele, chamando-o, disse-lhe: O que é isso que eu ouço de ti? Entrega a conta da tua mordomia, porque já não podes mais ser meu mordomo.
3 And the steward said within himselfWhat shall I do, because my lord taketh away the stewardship from me? Dig, I cannot: to beg, I am ashamed.
3 Então, o mordomo disse consigo: O que eu farei? Pois o meu senhor me tira a mordomia. Cavar eu não posso, de mendigar tenho vergonha.
4 I know what I will do, that, when I am removed out of the stewardship, they may welcome me into their own houses.
4 Eu resolvi o que fazer, quando me tirarem a mordomia, eles possam me receber em suas casas.
5 And, calling unto him each one of the debtors of his own lord, he was saying unto the first,How much owest thou my lord?
5 Assim, ele chamando a si cada um dos devedores do seu senhor, disse ao primeiro: Quanto tu deves ao meu senhor?
6 And, he, saidA hundred baths of oil. And, he, said unto himKindly take thine accounts, and, sitting down, make haste and writeFifty!
6 E ele disse: Cem medidas de azeite. E disse-lhe: Toma a tua conta e assenta-te rapidamente, e escreve cinquenta.
7 After that, unto another, he saidAnd how much owest, thou? And, he, saidA hundred homers of wheat. He saith unto himKindly take thine accounts, and writeEighty!
7 Então, ele disse a outro: E tu, quanto deves? E ele disse: Cem medidas de trigo. E disse-lhe: Toma a tua conta e escreve oitenta.
8 And the lord praised the unrighteous steward, in that with forethought he acted:Because, the sons of this age, have more forethought than the sons of light, respecting their own generation.
8 E o senhor elogiou o mordomo injusto, porque ele agiu com sabedoria. Porque os filhos deste mundo são mais sábios na sua geração do que os filhos da luz.
9 And, I, unto you, sayFor yourselves, make ye friends, with the unjust Riches, in order that, as soon as it shall fail, they may welcome you into the age-abiding tents.
9 E eu vos digo: Fazei para si amigos com as riquezas da injustiça, para que, quando estas vos faltarem, eles vos recebam nas habitações eternas.
10 The faithful in least, in much also, is, faithful, and, he that in least is unrighteous, in much also, is, unrighteous.
10 Quem é fiel no pouco, também é fiel no muito; e quem é injusto no pouco, também é injusto no muito.
11 If therefore, in the unjust Riches ye proved unfaithful, the true, who, unto you, will entrust?
11 Pois, se não tiverdes sido fiéis com as riquezas injustas, quem vos confiará as verdadeiras riquezas?
12 And, if, in what was anothers, ye proved unfaithful, your own, who will give unto you?
12 E se não fostes fiéis naquilo que é de outro homem, quem vos dará o que é vosso?
13 No domestic, can, unto two masters, be in service; for either, the one, he will hate, and, the other, love, or, unto the one, he will hold, and, the other, despise: Ye cannot, unto God, be in service, and unto Riches.
13 Nenhum servo pode servir a dois senhores; porque ou há de odiar um e amar o outro, ou se apegará a um e desprezará o outro. Não podeis servir a Deus e a Mamom.
14 Now the Pharisees, who were, lovers of money, were hearing all these things, and were openly sneering at him.
14 E também os fariseus, que eram ambiciosos, ouviam todas essas coisas; e zombavam dele.
15 And he said unto themYe, are they who justify themselves before men, but, God, knoweth your hearts; because, that which amongst men is lofty, is an abomination before God.
15 E ele disse-lhes: Vós sois os que justificais a vós mesmos diante dos homens, mas Deus conhece o vosso coração; porque o que entre os homens é elevado perante Deus é abominação.
16 The law and the prophets, were until John,from that time, the good news of the kingdom of God, is being proclaimed, and, everyone, thereinto, is forcing his way.
16 A lei e os profetas duraram até João; desde este tempo o reino de Deus é pregado, e todo homem esforça para entrar nele.
17 But it is, easier, for heaven and earth to pass away, than that, of the law, one little point, should fail.
17 E é mais fácil passar o céu e a terra, do que faltar um traço da lei.
18 Every one divorcing his wife and marrying another, committeth adultery; and, he that marrieth a woman divorced from a husband, committeth adultery.
18 Todo aquele que repudia sua mulher, e casa com outra comete adultério; e quem casar com a repudiada por seu marido comete adultério.
19 Now, a certain man, was rich, and he used to clothe himself with purple and fine linen, making merry day by day, brilliantly.
19 Havia um certo homem rico, que se vestia de púrpura e de linho finíssimo, alegrando-se diariamente no seu luxo;
20 And, a certain beggar, by name Lazarus, used to be cast near his gate, full of sores,
20 e havia um certo mendigo, chamado Lázaro, que foi colocado em seu portão, cheio de feridas,
21 and to long to be fed from the crumbs that fell from the table of the rich man: nay! even, the dogs, used to come and lick his sores.
21 e desejava ser alimentado com as migalhas que caíam da mesa do rico; além disso cães vinham lamber-lhe as feridas.
22 And it came to pass that the beggar died, and was carried away by the messengers, into the bosom of Abraham. And, the rich man also, died, and was buried.
22 E aconteceu que o mendigo morreu e foi levado pelos anjos para o seio de Abraão; e o homem rico também morreu e foi sepultado.
23 And, in hades, lifting up his eyes, being in torments, he seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom.
23 E, no inferno, ele ergueu os olhos, estando em tormentos, e viu ao longe Abraão e Lázaro no seu seio.
24 And, he, calling out, saidFather Abraham! have mercy upon me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue,because I am in anguish in this flame.
24 E, ele gritando, disse: Pai Abraão, tem misericórdia de mim, e envia a Lázaro para que ele possa molhar a ponta de seu dedo na água e refrescar a minha língua, porque eu estou atormentado nesta chama.
25 But Abraham saidChild! rememberThat thou didst duly received thy good things in thy life, and, Lazarus, in like manner, the evil things; but, now, here, he is comforted, and, thou, art in anguish.
25 Mas Abraão disse: Filho, lembra-te de que em tua vida recebeste os teus bens, e Lázaro de igual modo as coisas ruins, mas agora ele é confortado e tu atormentado.
26 And, besides all these things, betwixt us and you, a great chasm, hath been fixed,so that, they who might wish to cross over from hence unto you, should not be able, nor any, from thence unto us, be crossing over.
26 E, além destas coisas, está posto um grande abismo entre nós e vós; de modo que os que quisessem passar daqui para vós não poderiam, nem tampouco os de lá, passar para cá.
27 But he saidI request thee then, father, that thou wouldst send him unto my fathers house,
27 Então, ele disse: Eu suplico, pois, ó pai, que tu o envies à casa de meu pai;
28 for I have five brethren;that he may solemnly testify unto them, lest, they also, come into this place of torment.
28 porque eu tenho cinco irmãos, para que lhes dê testemunho, para que eles não venham também para este lugar de tormento.
29 But Abraham saithThey have Moses and the Prophets: Let them hearken unto them.
29 Disse-lhe Abraão: Eles têm Moisés e os profetas, que os ouçam.
30 But, he, saidNay! father Abraham, but, if one, from the dead, should go unto them, they would repent.
30 E ele disse: Não, pai Abraão; mas, se algum dos mortos fosse até eles, eles se arrependeriam.
31 But he said unto himIf, unto Moses and the Prophets, they do not hearken, neither, if one, from among the dead, should arise, would they be persuaded.
31 E ele disse-lhe: Se eles não ouvem a Moisés e aos profetas, também não serão convencidos, mesmo se alguém ressuscitar dos mortos.
